[A/N] While any comments or suggestions will make me exceedingly happy, please be aware that these "poems" will probably all be completely unedited word vomit.

4-1. the thief

his hair is on fire in the light-
every shade of copper, colours of red
that i didn't even know existed.

and how lucky am i (i think, watching
the way he sparkles, like there's
no place he'd rather be)
how lucky am i, to look in those eyes
and see the sun, moon, and stars
questions and answers behind
those two perfect hazel irises?

were he to play the robber
and steal a single kiss,

i would not notice
even the universe
collapsing.

A man who sparkles? Tell me, does he only sparkle in sunlight? ;)

That's all I have to say.

April 2. All I Need

Give me beauty and give me truth!
Give me freedom, equality, and love.
But first, give me a clear blue sky;

give me a cool summer breeze,
one that is strong enough to lift
any burden as it passes you by.

Give me a meadow so green, it's
like He unearthed his watercolors
and painted each blade of grass.

Give me the the ability to see
a million more days like this:
because that's all I really need.

1. I miss you.
2. Moulin Rouge? That's what this first part reminds me of. -gigglefits- Which is nice, but the dark, whirling theme of Moulin Rouge doesn't go with the gentle hope of the rest of this poem. The rest of this poem which I ABSOLUTELY ADORE, by the way.

Isn't it all we really need? Just beautiful days? -snuggles-

april 3. you're so vain, i bet you'll think this poem's about you

when i see you,
every idea is turned upside-down
every coherent thought gone
and everything i wanted
to say comes out wrong.

and, no, i can't breathe
and, yes, it is your fault
but i don't mind, baby, 'cause

we kiss. and it's like 10,000
sunny days -
10,000 yellow daffodils and
fireflies on a summer night and
songs sung at the top of my voice.

and, yes, that's my heart on my sleeve
and, no, i'm not saying that i need you
or that i don't but i do, 'cause

you make me love life.
and for that i will never forgive you.
(nor
would it be necessary.)

MOOMARS, you probably have some idea of how sweet this is. This poem just makes me happy all over when I read it. I especially love the 'no, I'm not saying that, or that I don't, because I do and blah'. xD It's so vulnerable and honest. You have no idea. I'm in love with the poem, but I don't think the last two lines are necessary. I LOVE YOU!

april 4. obsession

yesterday is an encaustic memory
burned, branded for ever and ever
and ever into my mind.

but if anyone deserves a place there
(a permanent spot among
the french conjugations and
shakespeare and physics formulas
and ephemeral dreams that are,
maybe, just too good
to stay) trust me, babe,

it's you.

Moomars, can I tell you right now how much I love you? I LOVE YOU so much. This is brilliant, this is personal, and this is fantastic, and I cannot express...

This is my favorite by far. The part in parentheses is perfect, Moomars, absolutely perfect. I love you so much and I like that you used his name. ;D

I'm so, so sorry for this, but I spent the last hour discussing how best to eradicate vine weevils and I cannot get them out of my head.

april 5. this is war

O vilest of villains, vicious vine weevil!
My (previously) green garden forgives you not
For causing such a horrid upheaval:
Against innocent blooms and roots you fought.

O blasphemous, bloody, beastly bug!
I'll kill you the force of one thousand arrows
Or purhaps a delicious chemical drug.
I'll annihilate every one of you ho's.

O ugly, unclean, unspeakable ugaboo!
Your days are going, going, going, gone.
You'll become an urban legend, one who
Warns other terrors not to mess with MY lawn.

Say goodbye to your loved ones.
Say hello to the big guns.

*perhaps

And HO's?! xDD That made me giggle. I love you. I totally adore this poem. It's fantastic. It cheered me up a bit, which I definitely needed. Also, I would like to tell you that you need to get on MSN. Or I might explode.

I love this poem, by the way. I will always cherish it. -snuggles with it-

april 6. pop

after work
she puts on her stockings,
one leg at a time,
slips into black lace -
the kind that causes heart attacks.
face painted, eyes lined.

(l8r.)
on the dance floor
she sees her sparkling gem
alone at the bar and
she remembers why she's there.
one day (!)
we will live in a cottage
in a scenic countryside
two kids
a dog - no, a cat
and look at the stars every night.

the balloon swells.

then he says "i like to party."

her dreams
shattered
hopes
crushed
she just gets more lonely.

sometimes it's not enough to live on fairytales.

It is not. It is not. This poem makes me feel sick to my stomach, but not because it's bad. It's fantastic. It just, it brings out that emotion so exactly, it makes me upset. :C -pokes at- Stop writing powerful poetry. I want wishy-washy stuff from now on!

-is lying-

This one is, interestingly, not for the babe but for Jamie.

april 7. untitled

what about a cherry tree?
we could plant the seed, watch
it grow into
something
beautiful. come summer, we'd
pick the fruit and make pies.
lots and lots of pies.

what about bookshelves?
a whole room, filled with just
books. walls
lined with poe and shakespeare
and in the evenings,
we could
sit in front of the fireplace
and glutton ourselves on poetry.

someday, we will be old.
we will sit on the porch
and watch the fireflies,
our bones
c r e a k i n g
and the neighbors will hear our
contented
sighs.
and they will know,
in this house,
there is love.

I didn't think it could be about the babe. The other version was more glamorous, but this one is so sweet and beautiful. I like this ending better. <3
