Picture

THis picture is around 4 months old and I now make lineart out of the picture and re-color it. This was when I first was using gimp and I didn't have much experience. At least now I can make stuff better, which when I upload some of my current stuff I will show ya. ^_^

There's a lot of empty space that you really don't need. I suggest cropping down the picture to cut down on this. Also, the figure has lots of little icky white pixels surrounding it. I suggest going in with a small brush at middle opacity and either erasing the white spots or painting over them with black. Erase if you have the figure on a separate layer; paint if it's all on one layer. It'll make this picture look much nicer.

Now, for the figure herself, the anatomy is pretty decent overall. You need more practice with hands and inking, but they're not bad. The arm looks a bit too short, but I think that's more an issue with foreshortening and the lack of a visible elbow. Her spine should be a bit more curved instead of ramrod straight, and I don't think it's possible to balance like that. Even if it is, it would be very uncomfortable as she would be resting on her tailbone. Tilting her forward slightly would fix this easily.

The wrinkles on her sleeve aren't very accurate, but the only thing that can be done is for you to study how cloth behaves and practice.

Pretty much, you've got a very good grip on the basics and it's just a matter of practice and observation. :3
