It was tough for me at first, but now I review much more than I post things! :) Is the 2:1 ratio hard for you :?:

The ratio isn't too hard to keep for me. I don't post everything I write, so I guess that helps quite a bit...

Nope. Reviewing is something I can do in thirty or forty-five minutes at most, and I post all of my reviews. Writing something worthy to post on YWS normally takes longer, so therefore I do less of it.

The YWS reviewers would have a field trip with all of the cringe-worthy stories/poems I have saved on my computer that I wouldn't dream of posting. :P

When I first joined, I had to watch myself when it came to the 2:1 ratio. Now, I don't worry anymore.

I also caught a reviewing bug so I was critiquing way more then I was writing for fun for about two months.

Eh, I've never really had a problem with it.

My only trouble is that I'm shy, so reviews and any other type of post are kinda rare in my case. XD I want to review more, but I always worry that I don't have anything of use to say. XD

The 2:1 ratio is extremely difficult for me. I always forget to review before I post.

:P

Just kidding. Unless I'm greeting newcomers, I rarely think of it as a rule; it normally feels like something I want to do. :D

Unfortunately, with my diminishing amount of reviews, it still is not hard for me to keep up with the rule. I have hit a rut in my writing ability. I have been doodling a lot more lately and if I wish to put those up, I have to consider reviewing more often...

There was no 2-1 rule when I came in, so I didn't really review much. I felt like I never had much to say, so I just never said it. I also may have been guilty of flooding my forums with my work in the beginning.

Now, of course, I'm hardly ever on, but I don't write much of any quality anymore so the 2:1 rule really doesn't affect me. Besides, I've grown to like reviewing a lot more than I used too. I could probably be better at it, but I try my best when I'm on YWS. I like greeting better though. :P

I'm not really bothered by it. I don't put up a lot of my work so it doesn't matter.
I hate television. I hate it as much as I hate peanuts. But I can't stop eating peanuts. I also hate being on television, I hate it as much as people hate chocolate. But they always want chocolate.

Hmm... I wonder how you all would deal with the normal 10 to 1 rule on most writing sites ;)

There's a 10:1 rule?

Okay. No offense to other sites, but that is slightly ridiculous. Not that I would mind doing ten reviews per post anyway (because as of now, I do about 50 per post? :P) But, goodness! Ten?

Ten reviews? To one story posted?

Methinks there'd be a lot more posts about how to write a critique in the Knowledge Base....

That seems unreasonable, actually. Especially since we have to balance school, extracurricular activities, and YWS, as well as everything else out there. Please tell me you're not thinking about a 10:1 ratio, Nate? Although most of us could still handle it.

I bet, if that were to happen, the reviews would be of a much less in-depth quality, because the reviewer just wants to rack up enough crits so that they can post. Methinks the 2:1 ratio is fine. :P

I'm not thinking about a 10:1 ratio, but I'm throwing it out there just to show everyone how absurdly low the bar here at YWS is. If you can't keep up with the 2:1 ratio, then that's just really, really bad!
