Everlast

Plot:
The king is dead, murdered by his wife, Queen Elyane. The kingdom of Everlast is in chaos. The new Queen rules mercilessly with a black heart, and the people have taken to cowering in fear rather than speaking out against their ruler and facing the consequence. A dark age is dawning. All hope seems lost.

Except for the Leos, named after the ferocious beasts that are half-man, half-lion. They are a group of rebels who fight the Queen in any way they can. Their bravery, skills in combat and ability to seemingly appear and disappear quickly makes them a thorn in the Queen’s side, which she is eager to be rid of. She has sent out spies and soldiers to try to flush out and kill all of the Leos but has so far failed.

Your have the ability to choose your own side and battle for your beliefs. You can side with Queen Elyane, fighting to keep the kingdom from the rebels. Or you could side with the Leos, fighting for peace and a new leader. It’s your choice.


Rules:
-No God-Modding
-No killing other characters without my and the creators permission.
-No sex scenes. Keep it PG-13. Swearing and violence stays to a minimum.
-Keep all characters in character.
-Posts must be at least one decent sized paragraph. More if you can, please.
-No more than two characters per person.
-All characters must be over the age of 16.
-No one is allowed to claim the Queen. If you want that spot, you must PM me and ask first.
-There will be a total of fifteen characters. One person per race/species. I will cross off the ones that are taken as people claim them, so there is no confusion.
-Try to keep an equal number of males as females. I don’t want thirteen girls and only two guys, or vice versa.


Character Races:
[s]-Leo: A half-lion, half-man with the ability to change into either form at will.[/s]
[s]-Pyro: A human with the ability to control fire. Those with the Gift are called Pyromaniacs.[/s]
[s]-Hydro: A human with the ability to control water. Those with the Gift are called Hydromaniacs.[/s]
[s]-Aero: A human with the ability to control air. Those with the Gift are called Aeromaniacs.[/s]
[s]-Gaio: A human with the ability to control earth. Those with the Gift are called Gaiomaniacs.[/s]
[s]-Human: The same as we are here on Earth, except these humans can live from 90-150 years.[/s]
[s]-Oracle: A human with the ability to see the past and future. [/s]
[s]-Sorcerer: A human who has given themselves to magic and are able to conjure souls.[/s]
[s]-Spirit: Souls brought back from the dead by Sorcerers who managed to escape somehow and are now roaming the world, looking for a way back to where they came from. They have no memories of being a human, other than what gender they were and how they died. They have the ability to shapeshift. They’re relatively peaceful, and are still susceptible to wounds.[/s]
[s]-Elf: Self-explanatory. They can live between 150-500 years.[/s]
[s]-Healer: A human with the ability to heal other beings.[/s]
[s]-Pixie: A small creature that resembles a miniature human. Stands between 4 and 12 inches tall. Able to fly and control small amounts of energy.[/s]
[s]-Night Mare: A demon-esque creature that can invade dreams and take the form of a person’s worst fears. [/s]
[s]-Toadstool: Small human-esque creatures that stand anywhere from two inches to a foot high. They have large hat-like things on their heads that make them look like toadstools, or mushrooms. They’re easily offended and hot-tempered with a poisonous bite (literally).[/s]
[s]-Gryphon: A combination of an eagle and a lion. Varying in size, standing from only a foot and a half high to twice the size of a human. Fur and feathers vary in color and shade.[/s]


Other Things to Know:
-This storybook takes place in a separate world, equal to ours in medieval times. So there is very little if any technology.
-There is no Harry Potter-esque magic in this world, so to speak. The only “magic” comes with your race that you choose, and that is all they can do. For example, Sorcerers can only summon and dismiss spirits. They can’t do anything else magically related.
-The 'Gift' (as mentioned in Pyros
-If you have any questions about anything, PM me or post on the discussion thread (which I will be making soon).
-Please make sure your character is not of the same species as one that has already been claimed.
-I will be starting this off in Friday, if we have enough characters.

Name: Evan Rice

Personality: Tends to be serious, but can joke around if he feels comfortable enough. He's the kind of person to take charge and get things done. He's stubborn, and will argue to get his way if and when necessary.

History: Evan grew up under the care of his aunt, because his mother died when he was young and his father worked as part of the militia and was often away. Under her care he learned to be gentle and kind, something few other boys knew at as young an age as he. When he turned 17, he left to be on his own. He felt the journey would perhaps teach him something, though if you asked him he couldn't tell you what. He has been traveling the land ever since.
Other: Keeps a sword that once belonged to his mother on him at all times - she taught him parts of what she knew before she died. Is up for love.

Weaknesses: Her inability to trust, or open up to people
Strengths: She reads people well
History: Anney is quiet and keeps to herself as much as possible. She lives on her own, and was raised by her village as a whole. They are all her family, and she would have it no other way. Rumor has it her father was wanted for murder, which is why he left before she was born. Her mother, being devastated, left soon after.
Other: Up for love [possibly claimed by one of Maybe's characters]. Carries a set of daggers on her person, for safety reasons.

Appearance: He has short brown hair that has been dyed blue at the tips of it, his eyes are a pale icy blue. He is riding about 5 foot 11, with a slight muscular tone.
Personality: He is very serious and calm. He stays cool under pressure, and is not the kind to forget something.
Likes: Adventure, relaxation
Dislikes: Non to say
Weaknesses: He is weak against earth attacks.
Strengths: He is good against fire attacks, also great at forming ice attacks.

Name: Adron Sapienti

Race: Sorcerer

Personality: Quiet and observant, Adron stays behind the more brash personalities. He offers his wisdom when it is asked of him, but otherwise keeps things to himself. Once befriended, he opens up into a quirky, sensitive man who would do the world for you.

Likes: Quiet and peace. Enjoys taking long, reflexive strolls or just gazing into the sky.

Dislikes: Obnoxious or loud people.

Weaknesses: He tries to think everything he does over before he does it. He's made too man mistakes in his life to be brash.

Strengths: He has great willpower and determination to do what is right.

History: He was raised within Everlast's castle. He knew Queen Elyane as a child, and they were great friends. He only barely managed to escape the castle after Elyane killed the king. She had every intention in bending Adron to her will. He sought shelter with his friend Laedin and Laedin's family. There the two men joined the rebellion. Adron now holds himself with a quiet resolve to overthrow Elyane, but he can't wish any harm to her, as he knew her as a child.

Name: Laedin

Age: 120

Race: Gryphon

That's his whole family with Laedin, by the way... His mate is named Kaia and the two children are Corvan (the brown one) and Cyri (the spotted orange one).

Personality: Laedin is proud and brash. He is a protective father, and would do anything for the people he loves, including Adron, who is probably Laedin's closest friend.

Likes: Open meadows and sunlight.

Dislikes: Rainy days and forests.

Weaknesses: Laedin will thrust himself into situations without any thought. Many times, if Adron hadn't been there to act quickly, Laedin would have perished because of that one, fatal flaw.

Strengths: Laedin is a powerful flyer, and a prime specimen of his race.

History: Laedin had a quiet childhood. He lives in a mountain cave with his family and Adron.

Other: Laedin has a hard time admitting that he is wrong.

Name: Taivas Shimata
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Race: Aero
Appearance: He has shoulder length white hair that he keeps tied back, and wears a wide brimmed hat that looks similar to a Chinese peasant hat. His eyes are a pale grey colour, and he is tall and almost wispy, given how thin he is. He wears a pair of loose white pants that hang down to his knees and a loose grey-blue tunic over a white undershirt that covers his arms down to his elbows. His arms from his elbows to his wrists are bound with strips of cloth, and his legs are bound the same way below his knees. He has a set on pan pipes tucked into a grey cloth wrapped around his waist, which serves as a kind of belt, and carries a staff on his back.
Personality: He seems to drift about through life, completely calm and barely even noticing the world around him. However, when he becomes alarmed, he makes it well known. When he speaks, it tends to fluctuate between nonsense and profundity. He often fails to complete tasks, not because of forgetfulness but of a short attention span and a lack of interest in many things.
Likes: Fresh air, the outdoors, thinking, music, games
Dislikes: Being given a strict routine, being cooped up indoors
Weaknesses: Close combat, inflexible strategies
Strengths: Speed, and he can summon mists to confuse the enemy, wind storms to hamper them and blind them, and lightning strikes. These last are inaccurate when simply summoned from the sky, but do vast amounts of damage. If he channels them through his body, he improves their accuracy, but weakens them and also damages himself.
History: He was born into an order of Aeromaniac monks who lived in an around a temple in a small mountain town in the far north of Everlast. When the queen began asserting control, she immediately cracked down on the temple in order to gain influence over the surrounding villages, as they had looked to the Aeromaniacs as spiritual guides of sorts. Taivas was taken prisoner and is now forced to act as one of the queen's many assassins. To keep him in line, she surrounds him with a group of about twenty soldiers, hand-picked for their intelligence or musical ability, who keep him entertained until he is required to do something, at which point they turn assassination into a game for him.

Princess Isadora, of Everlast, Queen Elyane's daughter.
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Healer
Appearance: Light brown eyes, brown hair, long and wavy. She wears her hair down and she can always be seen in a dress, when it gets cold she puts on a hooded cape with a string tie at the neck. She doesn’t wear shoes because she prefers to feel the ground below her. She's about 5'5 with a slender build. Her hands look really fragile, like if you were to hold them they'd break. I'll try and find a photograph.
Personality: Isadora is a gentle soul. She is caring and loves to help.
Likes: Dancing! She loves to twirl around! If you wanted to win over her heart just ask her to dance! She loves being outside, the wind pulling her hair back and the bright blue skies. Her favourite element is water, although she’s never seen the ocean or a big body of water, just the river that runs near the castle. Her biggest dream is to escape and swim in the ocean.
Dislikes: Liars, wars and she’s afraid of the dark so she’s never really had the chance to appreciate the stars.
Weaknesses: Physically she’s not that strong. She’s a hopeless romantic but hides her feelings. She is also easily frightened.
Strengths: She has the ability to use the environment to heal people around here. The normal person see’s water for the cure of thirst, in her hands it can be used to cure even the worst of illnesses and injuries.
Without the environment her powers are next to useless. When she’s experiencing extreme happiness she can heal with the touch of her skin. Ever since her fathers death though there’s been an emptiness in her that prevents her from doing so.
There’s a possibility she can heal with her lips, since the exchange of a kiss is affectionate, except she’s never had a kiss before.
History: She was very close with her father before her mother killed him. Now she is forced to stay within the castle walls the only time she’s allowed to leave is when she needs to extract something from the environment to heal somebody. She’s always under constant supervision.
Other: UP FOR LOVE. It would be cool if somebody helped her escape from her mother too!

Name: Natasha Habert

Age: 12 (Well that's how old she was when she died.)

Gender: Female

Race: Human/Angel

Appearance: She looks faded, not translucent. She has long, silvery hair and a pale complexion. She is tall and imposing and has one silver eye and one gold. She wears a white dress that is loose fitting and flowing that reaches her knees. It's tied with a silvery ribbon. She has large wings that protrude from her back. They're like large dove's wings and she is capable of not only flying but becoming any bird she chooses. (that's what she shape shifts into. Any bird.) She carriies a bow and unlimited amount of arrows. They're magic by the way. Also she conceals a dagger in the folds of her dress.

Personality: She's defiant, bold and doesn't like following rules. She is ruthless but has a light airy manner about her. She is very tactful at lying and acting. She is very frank and blunt but overall, once you crack her outer shell, she's sweet and loyal.

Likes: Shape shifting, flying, acting, talking.

Dislikes: Lack of creativity, people who don't stand up for themselves, and pickles.

Weaknesses: She is wild and reckless, and doesn't mind killing people. She takes defiance to another level.

Strengths: She can camolflouge herself well and hide just as well. She, as mentioned above, is a good lyer and deciever. She has escaped the bonds of her sorcerer that she was brought by. He was quite evil and was using her for his dirty work.

History: Apparently she's not supposed to know this.

Other: She can switch from side to side. Good and evil are not seperating boundaries for her. It's usually the side that she'll benefit from the most.

Appearance: She carries around a elven crystal necklace that glows right when she's about to have a vision. Also has many piercings. Personality She's arrogant and almost everything she does is centered around herself. When she finds herself stuck in a predicament she lies through her teeth and flirts a lot. She's also charming and coy.

Likes: the summer rain and playing with fire.

Dislikes: any physical exertion and hates when her power acts up and she goes under into a vision

Weaknesses: When she goes into the oracle state her body becomes limp and it appears as though she's left her body. During this time anybody could attack her.

Strengths: Her powers are at their strongest during a full moon. Plus she can read people really well...telling by their future or past that is. Her crystal amulet, when a full moon comes, controls her powers so they don't go haywire.

History: She was born into a small village deep in the forests of
Everlast. She was a perfectly normal girl until the age of 9. She would wake from nightmares of the future. A brutal woman would become queen. Back then she had no control and even when her family went shopping in the town square she'd go limp with a vision. People began to fear her. No kids were allowed near her, or their parents yelled. Then the day came that an angry mob came for her. Her father tried to hold them off but was murdered in the process. They burnt down her house and she pretended to be dead, hiding under all the debris. However when she came out hours later, she found her family was truly dead. Ever since she has had visions of great heroes coming forth and defeating the queen, but every now and then the future changes and the queen remains unharmed. Anuki is desperate to find these rebels and help. Along her journey she found an old wolf and named him Luki, her brother's name. Also along the way when she was about 16 she told people's fortunes for money, but all that has had to be stopped due to her being wanted.

Other: Has a pet dog named Luki. Isn's skilled with fighting at all,
but she is a beast when it comes to climbing trees and she can outrun any animal....except a cheetah....but I don't think they exist in everlast. She has also seen in a vision that the Queen has men out looking for the oracle, but no one thinks of a girl, or a teenager for that matter. Up for love...

Waist length blonde hair usually in a long braid that goes down her back. She has bright blue eyes and a perfect smile. Is extremely beautiful and skinny.

Personality: Quiet and self-doubtful. Kayla's self esteem is on the low side and doesn't believe she should have been brought back to life.

Likes: Animals and helping other people by using her power as a shapeshifter to "redeem" herself.

Dislikes: Herself.

Weaknesses: Can't deal with stress and depression prone.

Strengths: A wonderful shoulder to cry on and a person to get advice from. Natural peacemaker.

History: Aha, she doesn't know this. But she does know that she was murdered and gets the sense that she was a bad person. This fuels her desire to help others and "redeem" herself from her past life.
