Note: This is only a character development type thingy. It's a stand alone piece and I just wanted to give my hand at writing something short, it will not be continued. This character is from Venus for Sale a story that I have discontinued but I love one of the characters and decided to write something.
I'm sorry if this is too short but I'm taking baby steps until I'm comfortable writing something long(er).
Thanks for reading.
If you want to know more about the characters in Venus for Sale :
Veronica Sumner a.k.a Ronald Sumner- wants to be a boy.
Chester Sumner- Ronnie's brother, who is like their God-loving father but feels sorry for his sister
Mrs. Carol Sumner- Ronnie's mother. She is really eccentric and has a love for all things foreign and antique. Is young for her age and doesn't really care about her kids in a motherly since. So basically they do whatever they want.
Mr. Gerald Sumner- is a priest, a very stern one. He believes that God should control your life.
Amin- the exchange student from England that Mrs. Sumner hosts.
Submerged
By Angel of Death
His body was one that should have been worshiped every Sunday at church. It was the product of two pure Christian souls and yet it was covered in sins. With the razor firm in his hands, Ronnie made marks up and down his arms, careful not to cut too deep. He closed his eyes and inhaled. A burning sensation spread like wildfire over his skin and a warm crimson liquid slid down his arm, pouring into the water with a drip! drip! drip!
Everything around him, from the constant knocks on the door by his crazy mother to the rush of the water spitting out from the shower head, was irrelevant. He didn't care that he had been in there for hours, either crying himself into an angered stupor or contemplating if he should end his life right then and there. Ronnie just wanted to be free but he knew that would never be possible.
Opening his eyes, he stared down at his body, hating it for what it was. To the outside world he was a girl but deep inside his soul he knew who he was. Though his breast showed through his shirts and he had to sit down when he had to piss, he was still a boy. A boy that was captured inside the corpse of a dead girl who his parents kept calling Veronica.
Didn't they know he existed or did they even care?
His father would sit him down in the family room and pray to him for hours on end, telling him that he was going to Hell. And each time he'd say that, Ronnie would tell him that he was living a lie and God didn't like liars. Yes, a lie was what his life was. It wasn't true for he could not believe it himself. God had truly made a mistake and now Ronnie was paying the consequences.
"Veronica! Come on, get out of there."
Resting his head on the wall, Ronnie closed his eyes and commenced in falling asleep, ignoring his mother for she was not calling him. He felt light-headed and a chill like the touch of a ghost's hand along your spine consumed him. But he did not fear it. The cold was peaceful and soon, not even his mother's screams or the pounding of her fist on the door could be heard.
He just slipped silently into his personal Heaven, where God and his parents excepted that he was Ronald and that Veronica, the girl in the photo albums with the ebony pigtails and sterling blue eyes that guest awed over, was dead. She died a long time ago, they just forgot to give her a funeral.
Water entered his lungs and soon he was fully submerged. It was like being baptized, except he wasn't doing this for God or himself for that matter.
He was doing it because it was right.
