Please review! I know that the sharp scales on his back need fine tuning, and I tried to get rid of the darkness in the right hand corner, I love HP art, any ideas of what would be interesting to see drawn? This is my first fantasy animal!

Feel the urge to give some constructive criticism? Why not give it to these stories?
Awesome dragon! I can never draw them flying! But I have a few nit-picks.
Where the dragon's wings are attached to his body looks a little weird. You could touch up on that.
The bones in his wings look thin and weak. Try to strengthen those.
The hindlegs are rather small and his feet look flat.
His neck looks way to short. Perhaps you could try and lengthen it to give it a more realistic look ^_^
I love the expression on his face though! It looks cute! Just fix those ^ up and you'll have an excellent and elegant dragon on your hands! Some shading also may come in handy and his back looks to stiff looking but nothing you can't fix. Also, considering this is your first fantasy creature you did a superb job! Keep up the good work!!

P.S Interesting ideas? If you're good at drawing horses than I suggest trying a pegasus. Those are cool ^_^

Cool! Very awesome! I like how you drew its body, all curvy like that. And the face is really cool too.
The spikes on its back vary a lot though. I suggest fixing those. Also, it looks like it has a horn on its head. I don't know if that's what you were going for, but that's what it looks like
I like it a lot though!

As already mentioned, the place where the wings attach is a bit odd. Also, the bone structure of the wing itself is a bit strange in places. I would suggest studying bat wings (since that's what these wings most look like) and observe how they attach to the body as well as the bone structure.
One other thing is the back legs. They seem so scrawny, and I'm wondering how the dragon manages to stand without them collapsing beneath his weight. Their placement is also a bit too far back for the dragon to balance on them, unless he has forelegs that are hidden by the wings.
Overall, not bad at all, first time or no. I really like how you drew the head, and you did a great job not making the pose stiff. The body feels arranged naturally. n_n I also like how the neck is short, and that you made it thick. Not all dragons have to have long serpentine necks, though long serpentine necks are fun to draw. Drawing fantasy creatures for the first time is always nerve racking espically whenever you show it to a number of people. The number one tip I can give you is to remember: It's fantasy, any way that you think it should look, is the way that it should look.
There is no right or wrong way to draw fantasy unless of course you're trying to replicate a creature style of another artist.
Dragons in particular are one of those creatures that have a number of different variations, but due to their popularity a lot of people have preconceived views on how it should appear. I personally like to try and break these preconceptions, but that's just me (I tend to go against the grain).
As far as the picture itself--you show a good sense of bone structure in certain areas like the head and spine. For the hind leg, assuming you want to beef it up, I'd suggest looking at a horses hind leg personally. While you may want different proportions than a horses leg (and probably claws instead of hooves) they're structured in such a way its easy to see where joints are and how they move.
With the wings, I do a similar thing in making an extra joint shortly after the body. It's just a personal thing I guess. One thing is don't be afraid to get a bit messy with the lines at first. You can always take an eraser to the unwanted lines later and sometimes they can add a bit of character to the drawing.
Something you might try is thinking of the dragon as a skeleton before you draw one next time. I mean really think on it and then once you can see the dragon as a skeleton in your head start adding muscles, adipose tissue, and finally the skin/scales and all the little details that make it fun. Something that I hate, but most people (myself included) can't get around is the need to think through the anatomy of something, especially when trying something for the first time. As you progress, drawing more and more of the same creatures, you'll slowly phase out that step and end up just putting the final few sketch lines to paper.
It's a great drawing and one more thing: don't get discouraged. It's an invaluable piece of advice, that I still have trouble accepting--OFTEN.
Wow! That's good! My Review: (sorry if some have already been said)
1. The feet are a little too small... If he was standing he might easily fall over!
2. the wings: make them stronger-looking and fix the place where they join with the body. That might be really tricky, though, since it is hard to find the right reference photos...
3. make his neck a little longer and thinner
4. make the horn on his head look a little more on its head... so a little more forward, i think.
5. You are really good at drawing dragon heads!!! Right on!
6. if this was a real dragon its wings would be bigger... but tont worry because I think they look okay
Um.... so yeah. That's it! It just needs a little work on the body. That's all!
Be crazy, be wild, be silly...
Because life is too short to be cool.
Very nice! I think that it needs some shading and you could clean the lines up a bit, but a very interesting creature. His wings seem small in proportion to his body as well, like they wouldn't be able to lift him into the air. But, very nice, like I said before =]. Just keep tweaking it.
