I just want to know what everyone thinks about labels, (e.g. Goth, Punk, Emo, Prep, Geek, Nerd, ect...)

I know some people hardcore hate them, and others don't mind them at all. For me, I think they're moderatly annoying, because it seperates everyone into groups. Suposedly, preps can't hang with goths, because they're on total different ends of the spectrum.. Stupid.. I'm hardly ever labled to my face though, so...

Well at school I am labeled as a hippie but I do not care. Because my group of friends at school cannot be labeled because everyone is differnt in our group.

Labels are for other people to talk about you behind your back.

I fit into so many labels...I am the Preppy Punky Geek...it doesn't bother me much. In fact, I love it.

Labels only serve to keep people apart. Like was said, people labeled as preppies technically can't hang with people labeled as Goths. Jocks can't hang with geeks. It's also very insulting because when you think of a label, like geek, you tend to get a very particular image. They are so limiting. People have been trying to define me for years, and it's never worked. I personally think of myself as a geek because I consider being a geek as more of a very broad life-style thing. Once I had a friend who would normally never hang with people who are considered geeks, but he thought I was a geek, and he liked me. He called me a "cool geek."
Please, sit down before you fall down.

I don't hang out with people of the same type, it's always been that labels are just fun.
