Under God was added when trying to keep patriotism up.
Before 50 years ago (I think) it didnt have under god.
What made me happy? Knowing I could help someone with his orky needs.
You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, instead, you should read every single book to see what every book is about before you even come close to judging its viability.
Now, if our country is going to be consumed by such things you state, I would be one to blame the people. I'm not saying this is either of you two, but too many people set out to point out what is wrong in our government and complain, yet they make no action to change it. Our country has been consumed in laziness and nobody is willing to get off their ass and change it for the better.
And with The Pledge of Alligiance, we do not even have to say it, it is our own freedom.
Anyway, I see and value you both of your points, but I have my own thoughts about the government taking total control. The very first document this country was set on to obey was the Articles of Confederation which gave more power to the states and attempted to make the national government as weak as possible. Although this document fell apart and was too flawed to mantain our country, the Framers (founders) founded this country on control of the people. Now this could slowly change over time, but I believe the people would notice when things get rough, people like you. We just need for people to stand and do something.

I would love to stand up and do something, but i can't do that as of yet. I'm waiting until i'm eighteen and my parents have no control over me to do so. I'm currenly working on gay rights in my school.
hmm. well that is interesting. unlike most people who are for free rights and stuff, i believe that such things as gay rights should not be brought about. i see them as the doom of our society.

how come? you cannot bring religion into this, because the state has to recognize your individual rights and not decide on whether or not religion will permit whether or not your rights should be fully exercised.
well. homosexual lifestyle just doesnt work. take 100 people who are homosexual. put them on an island with what they would need as humans to survive. come back in a century. they are all dead. know why? female and female doesnt create babies. neither does male and male. whether you believe in evolution or God as the creation of the human race, they both know that homosexual lifestyles will not bring about success for humanity. if you cannot see that then i would dare say that you are ignorant.

you opinion is that if i cannot see that i am ignorant. would you believe i am not ignorant? i happen to know that? i know what it takes to create a baby and two homosexuals cannot produce a child. but you are saying that homosexuals do not go together for that simple reason? i know that's just not it. and not everyone is a homosexual. and there are homosexual couples that have children through artificial insemination and adoption. obviously you leave them there they won't survive. it's common sense. i dare say you have another reason why you do not like homosexuality. what do you omit? and it is obvious you omit something.
Nature does not approve of homosexuality. It shouldn't be promoted because it is like a parasite. Alone it will die. If it gets a host that does not fight back, it will consume the host. Then it will be bigger, but it will still die. I would not like to see the world die because of pure insanity of some people.
