American Idol

Has anybody else started watching it? I think 36 contestants is too many, but still, I'm watching. I like to pick favorites early.

As of what I've seen, my favorite has to be Brent Keith

Part of it is that I like country music and I know the song. But he really does have a great voice.

*raises hand* Yes, I watch it. I have two favorites and one person I like.

Anyone else grateful Tatiana and Bikini Girl are gone? Anyone sad there wasn't a second Kara vs. Bikini Girl smackdown in which Kara obviously wins? Hehe.

I didn't watch the Hollywood weeks.

I'm very unhappy Brent didn't make it - it was a poor choice on the show's part in going from the top 36 directly to the top 12. Think about last year - it took a while for some of the strong contestants to start getting good - Carly, anybody?

I think they need to be given more chances to prove themselves before they eliminate 24 contestants in one go.

I think I heard that after the other two-thirds of the group have their nights, the judges will pick their favorites out of those who didn't make it. Then, America will vote on three people who should make it out of that group.

Ah, yes, that's true.

Anyway, on Wednesday, we had 12 more contestants to look at. I am writing a post on my blog now on them.

Rarrrrr. I'm not sure I spelled that right, but I don't care right now. Megan got voted off. She better be voted back in the week after next. In my opinion, she was much better than Chris. At least Adam made it.

OK, Allison was by far the best this week. Adam was pretty darn good - close second to her. Kris...well, we needed a third person, and we didn't have much of another option. He sang on key.

Meagan was pretty good, but she was very nasal in parts of the song.

So far, Allison is doing well. Hopefully she can make it to the top...!

Wow....I love Alexis, but I'm surprised no one else does. All of my friends agree with me too.

Danny Gokey, Alexis and Scott are the only people who I think deserve to be on American Idol this year. That Adam dude is gross, he's like a David Cook wanna-be and he has Joe Jonas's face (shudders). Eww...

My dad's insane about Alexis. I'm still holding strong for Megan and Adam. Although, I like Danny, too.

I like Adam. I think he's good. I like Megan and Alexis too. Anoop rocks too. I thought it was so sweet when they had the top 13 and he made it. I was rooting for him.

I thought Jasmine might actually make it for a while longer. She wasn't actually that bad. They should have knocked out Anoop.

Grand Ol' Opry week was painful. I love country, and watching it being butchered makes my die.

Anywho, from worst to best:

11 - Adam Lambert - Oh my goodness, what was that?!?!?
10 - Meagan Joy - I can't STAND her voice. She sounds like she has a mental issue.
9 - Michael Sarver - He sand well, but it wasn't exceptional, by any means.
8 - Anoop Desai - See above.
7 - Alexis Grace - She was better than the above, but still not amazing.
6 - Kris Allen - He did pretty good. I was satisfied, but he's done better.
5 - Scott MacIntyre - Not bad. He actually was pretty good.
4 - Matt Giraud - The coldplay thing still makes me not like him, but he actually did well.
3 - Allyson Iraheta - Explain how a top 3 performance gets her in the bottom three.
2 - Danny Gokey - He's really good. I'm starting to forgive him for turning his wife's death into a bargaining chip.
1 - Lil Rounds - Oh. My. Gosh. The woman can SING.
