Wow. My first sketch of a face looked like... well, not nearly as good as this. Everything is great, but there are two things I find a little unrealistic:

eye-color:
Not many people have yellow-green eyes. You could have done green, or gray, or brown or blue, but I think this was a little mystical.

Shading:
The shading around the eye is a little dark.

Otherwise, great job!

Nice drawing...
You could redecorate those margins cause they're just empty...
The shading is good, but the one around the eye and at the end pf a face it too much of it or too less...Just left of his lips is supposed to be one more shading...before the cheek.
Oh, and what material did you used? I can see some non-linear lines throughout the whole drawing..
Dreams they come and go...ever shall be so...

Oh....

I tried and made it look mystical on purpose.
I"m kind of a vampire fan, so I made the eyes yellow.

That's also why I made the shading around his
eye really dark.

Oh, and I didn't use any specific material.
I actually used regular paper. It's just that I drew it in
my sketch book. The drawing before this one is a
linear design, and I draw kind of hard, so you can
sometimes see the drawing on the next page.

Thanks for the Reviews!!!!

Hey. Asxz''s review for food at your service. I jumped the queue here because the other is a chapter book, so here goes.

>>I would say that the eyebrow is a bit low, or you have shaded way too dark, even for a vampire.
>> The Shading on the cheekbone is a little flat. (Nice realism on the shape of the face by the way) You should have the bottom left corner a bit darker, because that's the way it would happen in real life, ya?
>>The bottom of the lip is a bit fat. It looks too large for the rest of the face, I would say that you should rub it out and make it 3/5 mm higher.
>>Shade in the chin more. It's like what I said for the cheek. If you look at where the light is from the other shading, the bottom left should be heaps darker. That includes the cheek too, especially so, because you have the shadow of the chin to add to it.
>>Other than that, the only other thing I can think of would be to bring in the shading on the bottom of the chin. Leave it as it is, but just put some faint shading in so it merges oin with the face.

>>On the whole, it is a great sketch! Keep up the good work, I can't believe that you said it was your first!

Nice work!

I'm not very good at critiquing pictures, but this is really well done. I like the lips especially. I would suggest adding an ear since he doesn't have hair. And I think the shading of the eye was a really cool way of making him seem creepy. I also like the way it's only half od his face. That also makes him seem more mysterious. Very well done, I can't draw like that at all.

There's an advert for the curious case of Benjamin Button that looks exactly like this! I really like this sketch. Now, positive things first:-

*The bone structure is absolutely incredible. There's no way I could have ever achieved that sort of bone structure on my first sketch. It's great.

*The lips are great. The shadow upon the lips is just perfect, really this is fantastique, magnifique.

*I love the sort of sketchy lines, that are then thickened, but the thick line still appears kind of sketchy, if ya get what I mean

Now onto the negative things:-

*the eye, it's almost incredible actually. It seems like you were going for a certain look, but slightly over did it with the shading, lol. The eye looks three dimensional and real, but the shading just ruined it for me. A bit too excessive. Yet I see where you're going with it, it almost looks like it's meant to, yet it doesn't.

For your first sketch this really is incredible. Keep drawing, you'll be absolutely amazing if you keep drawing like this. xD

I'm having trouble believing this is your first drawing of a face, but I'm also not saying your lying. This is pretty amazing, I must say, even if you were to have been drawing all your life.
what's great about being a teenager is that you can change yourself as much as you like and nobody will say anything because they'll equate it to being a part of growing up

i like the design! it makes it seem all the more mystical. Before i read the reviews i thought that that was part of the drawing! But ya its a little creepy that he doesn't have an ear...but your the artist. By the way I'm jealous at you for being able to draw that good. I definitely cant.

It's definately a great picture for a first try, much better than mine on my first try anyway. The shading is pretty good, it looks like you're starting to grasp how to use shadows to make the picture for you. The face is dificult to draw for most people who are just starting out because it has very, very few visible outlines. I draw faces by sketching out the basic form of the face, as well as marking off landmarks like the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. After that it's just a matter of shading in the shadows. The shadows are what give the drawing volume and texture, so if you can master shading then all your drawings will come to life.

One thing I did notice is the nose is out of place. The space between your nose and eyes is smaller than that.

And one more thing, don't ever say your drawings aren't good. My 14-year-old sister does it all the time and she can draw almost as well as me, her brother who's finishing up his second semester of college in 3D Animation. Saying your artwork sucks tells others that you don't have much confidence in your skills as an artist. Even if your drawings do suck, and I'm not that I'm saying they do, don't say that they do. Each piece of work you do is important because you're constantly honing your skills. If you try to draw this again on a fresh piece of paper I'll guarentee it'll turn out even better than before.

Every time I’ve gotten feedback that was hard to take it was usually hard to take because there was truth in it and I didn’t like that (or didn’t want to receive it). That’s not to say all harsh feedback is good or that we should be harsh for harshness’ sake, but learning to absorb truth without letting it break your inner core/break you is a lifelong skill that keeps your mind elastic and open to learning.
