I'm not one hundred percent sold on my title, but I felt it was an improvement from "Untitled". Let me know what you think. In this piece I'd like for you to really focus on the characters. Do you get a good sense of the protagonist's personality? I'm not sure how to fix this so any suggestions in that direction would be helpful. Thanks for reading!

Veronica spun the dial on her locker, the sound of her peers all around her. Her locker was a hot mess, with two hoodies, a gray sweatshirt, loose paper, the backpack she never used, and most of her textbooks. The rest of the locker was colorfully decorated with a collage Veronica had made in art. There were pictures of vibrant flowers, a table laden with decadent food, photos of her favorite bands, a Hawaiian waterfall, a chef standing over a bubbling pot, and a shirtless picture of Zach Efron. The last had resulted in weeks of merciless teasing by her close friends.
Suddenly, two hands were clasped over Veronica’s eyes and she heard someone choke back a giggle. “You know, Kayla, you’d probably get away with this if Delilah didn’t always blow your cover.”
“I don’t always blow her cover!” Delilah denied before realizing her slip-up.
“Ahh, Delilah!” Kayla whined, removing her hands from Veronica’s eyes. “So Roni, did you finish the Algebra homework? I got stuck on like five problems.”
“Really, only five?” Delilah asked, pulling out a compact mirror from her back pocket and checking her reflection.
“How can you see yourself in that?” Kayla demanded pulling the mirror away. “Did you steal it from Barbie?”
“Come on, Kayla!” Delilah reclaimed her mirror. She snapped it close and hid it away in the back pocket of her jeans.
Kayla twirled a piece of electric purple hair around her finger. “So, Veronica, the homework? Did you do it?”
“Yeah.” Veronica opened her math book and pulled out the notebook paper. It was slightly wrinkled and had red smudges on it. Veronica had been eating Hot Cheetos when she was doing the work and inevitably the cheesy powder got all over her jeans and her math homework.
“Nice.” Kayla snatched it away and quickly began to copy the answers. She was almost through when the first bell rang. “I’ll finish copying it in Study Hall and give it back to you before math.”
“Fine, just don’t let Mrs. Barathaun catch you this time. My parent’s will kill me if I end up in detention again.” Veronica dug out her history textbook and slammed her locker shut.
“Speaking of murder,” Delilah looped her arm through Veronica’s and lead the way down the hall, “How did your parents react to the whole report card.”
“Ugh, it was so unfair,” Veronica wailed. “They read Victoria’s first.”
“Bet that didn’t help any.” Kayla said linking her arm with Veronica’s other arm.
“They grounded me for a whole month!”
“That sucks!” Delilah exclaimed wrinkling her nose.
“That’s not even the worst part. Since my sister’s grades were so perfect, my parents are making her tutor me!”
“No way!” Kayla stopped in her tracks and bent down to tie her shoe. “Ugh, you couldn’t pay me to take lessons from the Goddess. You know, just breathing the same oxygen as her, lowers your self-esteem by fifty-five percent. They did a thing about it with Barbara Walters.”
“Tell me about it. At least you don’t have to live with her.” Veronica felt so sorry for herself. Why was life so cruel to her? Kayla didn’t have it so bad. Sure, she was a little chubby, but she covered up her flaws with outright boldness. She had rainbow-colored hair, eccentric fashion choices, and didn’t give a damn what anyone thought about it. Veronica wished she could have half of Kayla’s confidence. Delilah was the prettiest of the three of the friends with thick auburn hair and big green eyes. Delilah always complained about her fair skin and freckles, but Veronica thought that added to her beauty.
“Here’s my stop,” Kayla announced. “See you two later!” She gave them a quick salute before disappearing through the door.
Delilah resumed walking. The friends walked along in silence for a few seconds. “Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I heard this rumor that there is a new guy in school. And I heard he is really cute!”
“Who did you hear that from?” Veronica looked at her skeptically. Delilah loved to gossip and ninety percent of the time the gossip was completely fabricated.
“Bridget Summers told me.” Delilah replied, watching her feet as they walked. She wore dainty ballet flats with little red bows across the toes.
“Since when do you and Bridget Summers talk?” Veronica was incredulous. Bridget Summers was one of Victoria’s minions. Victoria Montgomery, Bridget Summers, and Cherie Sena were the popular girls of South East High School.
“Well, actually I overheard her and Cherie talking in the bathroom. Cherie was the one who found out about him. I guess she was in the front office when he came in. She said he had a kick-ass leather jacket.”
Veronica bit her lip. If Cherie Sena was the one spreading the rumor then that was a different story. It was like the girl had a million little spies working for her. She knew everything that was going on in everyone’s life. Mostly, because she was really good at listening. And because she was good at manipulating people to reveal their darkest secrets. Luckily for Veronica, Cherie didn’t bother with the Nobodies and in the eyes of her classmates, Veronica was a Nobody.
Suddenly, the late bell rang and Delilah squealed. The two friends cantered down the hall and skidded into their first period class. Their teacher, Mr. Draper who was always fashionably late, had yet to arrive. Steadying her breathing, Veronica took her seat in the back right hand corner of the class and Delilah sat in the desk in front of her. Veronica was about to ask for more details about the new kid when Mr. Draper swooped into the room.
“Heeello class!” He squealed placing his morning Starbucks on his desk. He perched himself right next to the coffee and began his morning ritual. First he took off his gloves, pulling each long, bony finger out one by one. Then he would remove his coat, meticulously unbuttoning each brown button that reminded Veronica of little dollops of feces. Finally, with a dramatic sweep of his lanky arms, he’d remove his scarf, which was always some heinous color like mustard yellow. The whole time, he’d be rambling aimlessly about his weekend, or the traffic he had faced that morning. Today, he was talking about one of his precious pet pussy-cats. “I had to take Miss Muffet to the vet this morning. She has distemper. Very sad, very sad indeed. She just won’t eat and her behavior is affecting the other cats. Why just yesterday, Harold received a very harsh scolding because he decided to do his business in the corner of the living room instead of in the litter box. But enough about my problems, lets talk about literature!”
The whole class moaned in unison. “Oh come, come students, there is nothing more refreshing than diving into a good book. Escaping reality for a few hours, entering a whole new world, becoming someone else. Sounds like a grand adventure!” The way he swayed to and fro, Veronica half expected him to break out into a pirouette.
“Sounds like someone forgot to take his meds.” Delilah muttered over her shoulder.
“So last Friday we were talking about different forms of poetry and I had given everyone the assignment of writing a poem about themselves, using the freestyle form. Would anyone care to share their poem?” He looked eagerly around the room, seriously expecting a grumpy, half-awake teenager to willingly volunteer to stand in front of a room full of their classmates and probably make a complete fool of themselves. No one raised their hands. “Very well then.” He glanced down at his clipboard. “Holly Hadley? Would you share your poem with the rest of the class?”
Holly stood up, her silky blonde hair braided into two pigtails and she was wearing a scandalously tight green top. There was way too much cleavage showing for a fifteen year old. She cleared her throat nervously, her hands shaking as she raised her poem to read it. “This is me. Cheerleader, daughter, friend. Popular, spirited, fun. Pretty, trend-setter, adventurous. Hip hop, pop, I love music. Talented, good at encouraging, unique. This is me.”
The class politely clapped and Holly beamed as she gave a slight curtsy. “Ok who’s next?” Mr. Draper surveyed the classroom. He had just picked up the clipboard to call on someone else when there was a knock and the principal poked his head in the door.
“Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Draper, I just wanted to introduce a new student. This is Keith Seidel.” He gestured at the student standing next to him.
Delilah turned around in her seat. “I told you!” She whispered.
But Veronica hardly heard her she was so entranced. Cherie hadn’t been kidding when she said he was cute. He had a thick head of black hair, piercing gray eyes, and a strong jaw line. Veronica caught herself staring at his sensual mouth and tried to suppress the warm, tingly feeling rising in her body. He was gorgeous.
“Welcome to South East.” Mr. Draper greeted him. “Please take a seat.”
Veronica was shocked when she realized the only available desk was to the left of herself and that was exactly where Keith was headed. Her hands were suddenly sweaty, and her breathing became shallow. He had broad shoulders and a bad-ass attitude about himself. Veronica was magnetically drawn to him and yet she knew she didn’t stand a chance. The only male who gave her any sort of sexual attention was Nathan Sheehan.
To every other testosterone card-holding member Veronica Montgomery was just Victoria Montogomery’s little sister. A Nobody. Suddenly, Keith was sliding into the desk next to Veronica and he smiled warmly at her. “Hey.” His voice was like molten chocolate, tantalizing and smooth.
Veronica choked on her voice, rose blossoming on her cheeks. “Hi.” It came out as a squeak. Delilah threw a look at Veronica and stifled a giggle.
The rest of the class passed by in a blur, all Veronica could focus on was the proximity she was to Keith. He wore a musky cologne that made Veronica feel hot and she squirmed in her seat. Why was she reacting this way to someone she hardly knew? He didn’t even know her name. The bell rang, jerking Veronica abruptly back into reality.
Clumsily, she scrabbled for her belongings, knocking a binder off the desk. Papers scattered all over the floor. Delilah grumbled under her breath and began helping her friend collect her things. Veronica was surprised when Keith crouched down alongside her and handed her a stack of papers. “Thanks.” Veronica’s hand shook when she reclaimed her papers. Keith caught her eye and they smiled at each other.
“So you’re the new kid?” Delilah spoke up.
“Keith.” He stood up and extended his hand towards Delilah.
“Delilah.” She shook his hand firmly. “And this is my ever graceful friend, Veronica.”
“Veronica.” His eyes were so intense as he shook his hand. Veronica wasn’t sure, but she felt that he held her hand more than was necessary.
“Well, we’ve got to get to class.” Delilah grabbed Veronica’s arm. “See you later.” Veronica had a goofy smile fixated on her face as she was led, dazedly, into the hallway. “Would you get that stupid look off your face, you look high.” Delilah elbowed her roughly in the ribs.

Hey =]

Once again i really enjoyed this story. i like how it's progressing but i can't help feeling that it's going to turn into another one of those, 'the unpopular girl likes the new boy but he likes someone else,' stories. Not that i don't enjoy reading those lol I'm definitely intrigued as to where this story is going!

You asked for the characters to be reviewed more closely so here it goes;

-I really like Veronica. As a MC she's really easy to relate to which makes the story a whole lot easier and enjoyable to read. It helps to make the story flow better too.

Now for a few nit-piks;

She snapped it close and hid it away in the back pocket of her jeans. - maybe shut would sound better than close.

It was slightly wrinkled and had red smudges on it. Veronica had been eating Hot Cheetos when she was doing the work and inevitably the cheesy powder got all over her jeans and her math homework. - It was slightly wrinkled and covered in red smudges from where she'd been eating Hot Cheetos whilst doing her homework. Inevitably the cheesy powder had ended up all over her jeans and maths sheet.

“Fine, just don’t let Mrs. Barathaun catch you this time. My parent’s will kill me if I end up in detention again.” - I like that you added this in as it lets the reader know that she's not a stranger to getting into trouble.

- I like this too, it lets the reader know how Veronica and her friends feel about Victoria.

“Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I heard this rumor that there is a new guy in school. And I heard he is really cute!” - You tend to start quite a few sentences with and, maybe try connecting the sentences or re-working the second so it doesn't start with and.

Then he would remove his coat, meticulously unbuttoning each brown button that reminded Veronica of little dollops of feces. - I'm not sure about how she describes the buttons. I love the teachers personality though - his story about his cats made me laugh!

He had just picked up the clipboard to call on someone else when there was a knock and the principal poked his head in the door. - poked his head around the door as in sounds as though he's put his head through the door itself.

“Oh come, come students, there is nothing more refreshing than diving into a good book. Escaping reality for a few hours, entering a whole new world, becoming someone else. Sounds like a grand adventure!” - I love how you describe reading books. It's exactly how i feel when i'm reading :)

Delilah turned around in her seat. “I told you!” She whispered.
But Veronica hardly heard her she was so entranced.
- This seems awkward. A suggestion: "I told you," she whispered, but Veronica could hardly hear her having become entranced by the figure in the doorway. - something like that anyway lol

Well, i hope i helped a bit, i'm still getting used to reviewing work =]

Like i said at the start, i'm really enjoying this so far and am looking forward to the next part.

Great job! :D

Hello again, Moriah!

As per your request -

Veronica - To be honest, I don't get a great sense of her personality. I know pretty much what I knew before, which is that she's a teenage girl constantly in the shadow of her sister Victoria. And, this is pretty harsh, but I'm also finding it hard to like her. But I think that's just because I haven't seen much of her that's different than every other story about a less than perfect girl, you know? Except that she likes to cook from the last part.

Hm. This is just an idea, but probably not a very good one, but what if you had her so that Veronica was always thinking up different recipes at the most inoppurtune times? Maybe not. I don't know. I think what's important though is that you give her a couple of quirks. Like does she slur her Ss when she's angry? Does she always know what time it is, even when she's not wearing a watch? Can she impersonate anyone's voice, male, female, and all sorts of accents? Those are just examples, and maybe not good ones, but so far it doesn't seem like you've done anything to set her apart from the oodles of other teen girls. Kayla, on the other hand, has a definite personality. (So does Mr. Draper.)

Eek. That sounded really harsh. But remember that it's because this story is good, but it needs to be great, you know? I do think the plot is going somewhere, even if it's a little overused, and you obviously have some writing talent - I'd say character development is your biggest obstacle.

Keith - Ah, I love this guy. I haven't seen enough of him yet to be sure, but I think I'm going to really like him. Love interests rule!

So, as I said, I think developing Veronica is really what you should concentrate on. I don't know, maybe I'm rambling prematurely here, since I haven't read the other chapters yet! I'll get on those in a moment. But that's really all I saw that needs improvement, which is definitely deserving of a "WELL DONE, YOU!"

Hey, I'm back for more.

["] “Ahh, Delilah!” Kayla whined, removing her hands from Veronica’s eyes. “So Roni[s],[/s]; did you finish the Algebra homework? I got stuck on like, [s]five[/s]five problems.” [/"]

["] You know, just breathing the same oxygen as her[s],[/s] lowers your self-esteem by fifty-five percent. They did a thing about it with Barbara Walters.” [/"]

["] Kayla didn’t have it so bad. Sure, she was a little chubby, but she covered up her flaws with outright boldness. Okay, this isn't good. You have to work the descritions into the story. Right now we have an info dump. The characters are being described in a tiresom way for a reader, and it doesn't register. Try to work it into the story like this:

As kayla stood up, she flicked back her rainbow-died hair. Her bold attitude had resulted in her following eccentric trends that no-one else would ever dare to touch. She didn't care though. Veronica vas envious o her laid back attitude, and hated her for her easy -come, never-go good looks.

See, you cut down on the words, and you don't stop the story while you do it!

["] “Who did you hear that from?” Veronica looked at her skeptically. Delilah loved to gossip and ninety percent of the time the gossip was completely fabricated. [/"]
Try not to use one of these gosips, you don't want your piece to sound weird!

["] “Heeello class!” [/"] This comes out as a high pitched squeek whatever way I try it.Make the sound a more common reference.

["] “Ok who’s next?” [/"] I believe it's spelt "Okay" and you need a comma afterwards.

["] The only male who gave her any sort of sexual attention was Nathan Sheehan. [/"]
Do we need to know about him, or is he just a place holder?

Okay, I'll move onto the next one soon.

Nit-picky Pop is back! ^^

Alright, I'm glad more of this is up! This was a good (part of a) chapter. I enjoyed it. Keith sounds yummy. *drool* <3
Before I begin: I love how you're telling readers what kind of feedback you want on this. Let me just say how extremely helpful that is when writing a critique. ^^

Fix-Its

“You know, Kayla, you’d probably get away with this if Delilah didn’t always blow your cover.”

New line break.

Kayla twirled a piece of electric purple hair around her finger.

This is just me being weird, but I thought 'electric purple' sounded a little odd. I think just 'bright purple' would suffice.

You know, just breathing the same oxygen as her, lowers your self-esteem by fifty-five percent.

Nix the coma after "her". Also, this made me giggle. ^^

Victoria Montgomery, Bridget Summers, and Cherie Sena were the popular girls of South East High School.

I don't like this sentence. It feels too... stiff. Probably because you're using last names. Surnames sound too formal, and the narration so far has been very natural and relaxed. (I hope that makes sense.)
So anyways, how about this: Victoria and Bridget, along with another follower, Cherie Sena, were the popular girls of South East High. <--That sounds more like a teenager describing a clique, no?

Their teacher, Mr. Draper who was always fashionably late, had yet to arrive.

Coma after "Mr. Draper".

The whole class moaned in unison. “Oh come, come students, there is nothing more refreshing than diving into a good book.

New line break at the dialogue, otherwise it sounds like the class is speaking. ^^

“Sounds like someone forgot to take his meds.” Delilah muttered over her shoulder.

Coma at the end of the dialogue. Aw, man! And you got so far with no mess-ups on these! Ah well. You're doing much better!

“Ok who’s next?” Mr. Draper surveyed the classroom.

New line break.

Delilah turned around in her seat. “I told you!” She whispered.

"She" should not be capitalized here, since it's still part of the sentence.

But Veronica hardly heard her she was so entranced.

“Welcome to South East.” Mr. Draper greeted him. “Please take a seat.”

Coma after "South East".

He had broad shoulders and a bad-ass attitude about himself.

Explain this "bad-ass attitude". What did he do that made him seem that way? Is it the way he walks? Sits down? Furrows his brow?

The only male who gave her any sort of sexual attention was Nathan Sheehan.

Don't mention this if this character is not going to either a.) be briefly explained or b.) be introduced shortly in the plot.
I would highly suggest nixing this line. If Nathan comes into play in later chapters, explain this then. Right now it just kind of leaves the reader hanging, because we think a new character is about to be introduced. ^^

“Thanks.” Veronica’s hand shook when she reclaimed her papers.

New line break, otherwise it sounds like Keith is talking. ^^

“Veronica.” His eyes were so intense as he shook his hand.

Hmm... this is probably just me, but perhaps it should be "he shook her hand". Makes more sense. (In my head, anyways.)

Alright, cool! Little stuff is out of the way. Not nearly as much as last time, so congrats for that! ^^
Since you wanted the focus of the review on characters, then that is what I shall do. Here we go!

Veronica
So far, this character we pretty much know the least about! We know all about her older sister, and how Veronica resents her. But that's her feelings, not attributes. So far, all we've seen is that she's not really spectacular in any way.
I thought it was realy interesting in the first chapter how you show her love of cooking and food, and all of that lovely description of cheese and pizza. ^^
Especially since she's the MC, we really do want to know about Veronica. We want to know more of what she likes and what does. Not just what those around her do and what she thinks about them. Make sense? :?
Mars made a great suggestion: give her some quirks. I liked what Mars said about the cooking thing, and how Veronica is always thinking of some recipe. That would be cool, but again, that's just an idea! It's your character, and there are an infinite amount of possibilities.

Delilah
I can't tell if I like her or not at this point. She seems like an average teenage girl, basically, but there's nothing that really stands out about her. Plus, all you really did was tell us she was pretty and likes to gossip.

Kayla
In a complete contrast with Delilah, she's got a personality. Or at least, a start of one. We know why she wears crazy clothes and how she feels about herself. Kayla seems like a pretty good friend to have, so I hope to see more of her later in the story.

Mr. Draper
Haha, I love this guy! His introductory paragraph was amazingly-written! By describing how he takes off his hideous gloves and coat (and especially how he removed his scarf!), and what he says to the class, you managed to tell us quite a bit about this guy without it being an information overload. Way to go!
This guy sounds like a really interesting character. Hope to see more of him! ^^

Holly Hadley
Thought I'd add her just because. Can you say 'self-centered'? lol. I kind of like her though. (And you sneakily managed to tell us all about her without an info-dump from the narrator! Clever!) She seems sweet, although just a bit concieted. Otherwise, a pretty cute side-character. However, unless she comes into play later in the story, I don't really see her point in being mentioned here. If she's not going to do anything for the plot later, I'd suggest just cutting her, or snipping the scene down a bit. In other words: don't go through the trouble of telling us all about her if it's pointless. ^^

Keith
Yummy. Hee-hee, just kidding. ^^
I like how you described his entrance, and how Veronica was immediately swept off her feet! (Oh, horomones! Why must you torment us so?)
Although, you could have most definitely expanded on this character a little bit more. For instance, you mention (I already pointed this out, but I'll do it again just to make a point) that he has a "bad a** attitude". Really? Well show me! I love rebels! xD
But really, what makes him seem that way to Veronica? Was it the way he stood in the doorway, surveying the class with indifference? Was it his smirk as the Mr. Draper introduced him to the class? Or was it his relaxed and confident walk over to the desk?
^Just starters. To get your creative juices a-flowin'.

So, another good chapter! The rest will be reviewed later, so don't worry! Those are coming soon. This is getting interesting, Moriah. I'm anxious to read more! ^^

Hey! Sorry for the delay. I've been floundering to find a routine recently. Anyway, I digress...
Her locker was a hot mess, with two hoodies, a gray sweatshirt, loose paper, the backpack she never used, and most of her textbooks.

A hot mess? Why hot? She is not sitting inside it, so she wouldn't really notice the temperature. It seems like unnecessary information, distracting the reader from the real point of the description.
Suddenly, two hands were clasped over Veronica’s eyes and she heard someone choke back a giggle.

I'm not a fan of starting a sentence with 'suddenly'. I think years of being over-used has made it lose a lot of its effect. There's nothing technically wrong with it, though. Use your own discretion, as this is just my personal opinion.

Veronica and Victoria are rather similar names. Faster readers may get caught up and confused on this point. I had to check myself.

No way!” Kayla stopped in her tracks and bent down to tie her shoe.

Is there any actual point to this action? If not, I would omit it. It may be what someone would really do in real life, but how often do you read a story where every action is listed? Remove it, if there is no reason for it to be there. Extra information will merely slow down your plot and distract your readers.

But Veronica hardly heard her she was so entranced.

This line would probably be more effective in another form. Compared to the rest of your writing, which has a rather formal, mature feel to it, this feels sloppy and ineffective. One way I would suggest rearranging it is possibly like this:
But Veronica hardly heard her. She was entranced, Cherie hadn’t been kidding when she said he was cute.
Short sentence, long. Short sentence to get a point across quickly. Long sentence to explain.

He had broad shoulders and a bad-ass attitude about himself.

Bad ass? Hehe. I would suggest that you insert this as an observation made by Veronica rather then part of the narration. This line would be age-appropriate for Veronica, but doesn't sound right as part of the narration. As part of the narration, it is telling without explanation. You don't necessarily have to explain impressions, though it could be a useful tool in adding extra detail and giving an insight into how the character making the observation works.
Also, I don't see how a bad ass attitude relates to broad shoulders, but the fact you have them in the same line suggests they are related. And I don't like the phrase 'about himself'. Again, it's rather sloppy in comparison. Removing altogether would leave the sentence still able to function, or you could re-word what you mean in more effective terms.

Veronica had a goofy smile fixated on her face as she was led, dazedly, into the hallway.

Remove the 'ly' off dazedly. It works fine as 'dazed', and 'dazedly' is a clumsy, awkward word.

Overall, I quite enjoyed this. I would warn you to watch for added, unnecessary information, but it wasn't so much of a problem as I read on. I like your characterization of the teacher, and the reaction of the class.
I'm not entirely sold on Veronica yet, but that would be mostly because of the fact I haven't got a chance to get to know her, and that comes as the story progresses. I would just suggest you use reactions as a tool to give insight into her thought processes, and you've begun to do so already. I found few grammatical mistakes, but I suggest you read this viewarticlebody.php?t=35798 I noticed a few apostrophe errors, and this is a useful resource. I know this as I used it myself to fix up my own work. ^_^

One thing I noticed is the tone of your work. You need to find the balance between teenage thoughts and your own, rather mature 'voice'. Take the first line for example. What teenager describes her fellow students as 'peers'? It's a term adults and teachers use. While there is nothing wrong with formal language, you are writing about teenagers, and they are going to use some rather informal language, and think some rather informal, illogical thoughts. Keep an eye on this, as you don't want the teenagers seeming sloppy next to the narration, and you don't want the narration sounding stiff next to the character's thoughts and dialogue.

Another thing I noticed is Veronica lacked a lot of emotion. You describe her as feeling sorry for herself- how about you give us that impression rather then telling us? It's not until Keith comes in and she starts sweating and breathing hard we see a real emotional reaction. What does she do when her friend puts their hands over her eyes? Sigh in resignation? Startle? Almost drop watch she's holding? Stiffen? It's unlikely that she would have no physical reaction, even if it is a well-rehearsed action. How does she react to her teacher? Does she find his ritual soothing? Irritating? All of these little things are tools with which you have the opportunity to build your character, and add that ever-sought-for depth.

I cannot really comment on the plot, as not much as happened. Just, again, don't ramble about things that aren't relevant if they do not add to the main plot or characters.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'll be happy to help. Well done.

Ooooh I like how this is developing- Keith sounds gorgeous ;) I think you have written this really well, I didn't notice much but I will point out what I can!

Veronica spun the dial on her locker, the sound of her peers all around her.

I think it might be good to give some description on the sound of her peers- hooting laughter, slamming of doors, people groaning to one another about school- that sort of thing. I think it would really set the scene :D

It was slightly wrinkled and had red smudges on it. Veronica had been eating Hot Cheetos when she was doing the work and inevitably the cheesy powder got all over her jeans and her math homework.

If I'm being really picky, I'd say the smudges would be orange :P

Kayla said linking her arm with Veronica’s other arm.

I'd miss out 'her arm' after linking so the sentence runs a bit smoother.

Delilah exclaimed wrinkling her nose.

I think there needs to be a comma after exclaimed.

Veronica felt so sorry for herself. Why was life so cruel to her? Kayla didn’t have it so bad.

You repeat so quite a bit here, I'd leave it out in one or two of these sentence or replace it.

Delilah resumed walking. The friends walked along in silence for a few seconds. “Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I heard this rumor that there is a new guy in school. And I heard he is really cute!”

You repeat 'walk' here quite close to one another and 'heard' so I'd replace one of each of those :)

“Since when do you and Bridget Summers talk?” Veronica was incredulous.

It might be good to show how she looks incredulous here as well as saying it- do her eyes widen or does she raise her eyebrows?

Mostly, because she was really good at listening. And because she was good at manipulating people to reveal their darkest secrets.

Instead of a full stop after listening I'd maybe have a dash.

First he took off his gloves, pulling each long, bony finger out one by one.

When you are describing the rest of his routine you say 'he would' or 'he'd' so to fit in with the them I would add that here too.

Holly stood up, her silky blonde hair braided into two pigtails and she was wearing a scandalously tight green top.

I'd add 'was' after silky blonde hair and instead of 'was wearing' I'd say wore so the sentence runs a it smoother.

She cleared her throat nervously, her hands shaking as she raised her poem to read it.

The class politely clapped and Holly beamed as she gave a slight curtsy.

From what Holly is wearing and how she beams afterwards I wouldn't think she would be that nervous. It might fit in more with the rest of her you describe if she cleared her throat confidently and wasn't afraid to speak to the whole class.

He had just picked up the clipboard to call on someone else when there was a knock and the principal poked his head in the door.

I think 'round the door' would sound better than 'in the door' as otherwise I kind of have an image of the principal banging his head into it :P

Veronica was surprised when Keith crouched down alongside her and handed her a stack of papers. “Thanks.” Veronica’s hand shook when she reclaimed her papers.

I'd change the second papers to something else so you're not repeating the word- maybe work or sheets.

Overall: I really liked this part- I think you have carried on from before really well and I love how you have described Veronica's two friends and Keith. The teacher sure sounds funny :) I'd maybe add a description to his voice as you have covered the rest of him pretty well but that seems to be missing.

Veronica's character seems different here- That's probably because she is in a different environment but I'd maybe add some more of the old her in. Before she was complaining about how ugly she felt and there was a big emphasis on her low self esteem- If you could incorporate that into how she feels with the boy sitting next to her or when she is on her way to class I think it would better connect the two chapters. You've given the description of her before but that sounds very exaggerated so I'm not completely sure how she looks. I'd add in later chapters about her friends perspective pf her- perhaps she could moan to them and they could tell her some good aspects of herself so there is a more realistic description of her.

I think you could also set the scene more in the corridor as I have mentioned with the sounds and what people are doing going on around Veronica- I think you have managed to describe the classroom well though with the crazy teacher and pupils :)

I love the perspective that you have given this from- so far I am really enjoying the story :D! Hope I've helped
