okay, like i said i feel dumb asking this, but i have terrible writers block right now. So...man i feel stupid... can someone help me write this. So this is the setting, two kids outside of a warehouse storing ipods and stuff like that, its raining, they are going to break in and steal the stuff. But every time i try to do the first part that brings them in i get stuck, i have the whole rest planned out but i just need help with a page or two of writing.

Oh! I hate it when that happens. Just write it, dosnt matter how stupid it sounds, just get it out there. This is the first draft so if it totally sucks here you can fix it later.

- Change the POV? If it's from one character, do it from another; if you're telling it in first person, change it to third person.

- I don't know if you're establishing the scene — writing about the rain, and the storing of the ipods, blah blah, but it sometimes helps (not only for the writer, but also for your readers) if you jump right into the action and then describe the incidental stuff as you go. So start with the robbing and then incorporate the rain, etc.

- Or even, skip the parts you don't want to write, write the bits you like, and then go back and fill in the other bits.

It helps, for me, to find an opening line that I really like. Something that I think/hope will grab the reader's attention; inevitably, it pulls me into my own story. It also helps to look at what specifically is bothering you and change it up. Don't like the characters? Add a couple, or subtract more; change their personalities. Self-analysis does wonders.

Hope that helps.

Smaur, not to be critical, but from the way Bolt writes (I am part of the storybook he leads), skipping parts that are difficult would be absolutely catastrophic. Writing for him seems to be scene based, having dozens of pieces and trying to connect them would only end up weaving a tangled web of piano wire. Some people can handle that, but usually they are accomplished writers or have a lot of experience.

I can only do this after several years of attempts, but I still find myself having a rough transition between large pieces if they are on a set timeline. If you cannot even start the story, the best option is to start it with the action as in modern writing. Be in motion from the first page, and get the reader involved as the heist and fleeing goes on.

Sometimes just skipping to the part you WANT to write really helps. I've heard alot of authors say that, and have used the tip before so I know from experience it works, at least for me. It wont make too much sense from the point of view of a reader right then, but once you have out what you want, it will be easier to go back and put in introductions and things like that.

Of course everyone if different, and maybe ~Excalibur~ is right, I obviously don't know your writing style. But it might be worth a shot, and if it works then great, if it doesnt you can try a different method. :D
