So I was browsing around YWS, and I found this poll that said, "Harry vs. Edward." So... since Harry isn't really portrayed as a romantic heartthrob, I figured that there should be a better poll. This one includes Mr. Darcy, from Pride and Prejudice and Edward Cullen, from Twilight.

Pride and Prejudice, for those who are wondering, can be read here: http://www.literaturepage.com/read/prid ... udice.html

Twilight is still under copyright law, so I can't do the same for it, unfortunately.

Anyway!

For girls, who would you rather be with, as far as romantically?

For guys, who would you rather be?

And don't forget to say why! :D

In my personal opinion, Mr. Darcy would make the better pairing because of the fact that he himself is just such an amazing character. I'm not saying Edward Cullen is so bad, its just after every single girl spoke of how awesome Edward was, it losts in lustre for me. Also the fact that Edward is a vampire kind of ruins it. I do like the idea of falling for a vampire but i also love the idea of falling in love and dying with the man i love. To be with them till the end.

Although Edward has quite the high reputation for a great boyfriend, i would still place my bets on Mr.Darcy.

EC is too perfect. I'd like somebody who has their flaws. Who's human. And can change for love.

Besides, Mr. Darcy is English. I don't know what difference that makes, but I have an obsession with English accents.
Got YWS?

Aw, darn. This is really a hard decision, or maybe not. I love Edward and all, but Mr. Darcy is flawed and who wants to be with someone who makes them cry because they can never be perfect? I know I don't. Plus, like Lily said, he has an English accent. I love accents...but I've read Pride and Prejudiceso I have been a fan for Mr. Darcy a long long time and my main argument stands that I would love him more than Edward because he is flawed. Sorry Edward.

Mr. Darcy doesn't watch me sleep. I'll take him.
"He yanked himself free and fled to the kitchen where something huddled against the flooded windowpanes. It sighed and wept and tapped continually, and suddenly he was outside, staring in, the rain beating, the wind chilling him, and all the candle darkness inside lost."

Mr. Darcy, hands down, always and forever. Edward's just a teen, I need a man :). That said, I would have a harder choice between Mr. Darcy and Mr. Rochester *swoon*.
When you look at your life, in a strange new room, maybe drowning soon, is this the start of it all?

I came into this world wrinkled and ugly. And no matter how much I accumulate here, it's a short journey. I will go out of this world wrinkled and ugly. So I enjoy life.

I'd personally choose Mr.Darcy.
Mainly because Edward is too perfect and he gets on my nerves most of the time (by the way, I'm Team Jacob ALL THE WAY BABAY!!!!!)
And besides, if I did choose Edward, that would be because I could get closer to Emmett, Jasper, and Jacob! *triple swoon*

Actually, if we're talking Colin Firth here, I choose Colin Firth over cupcakes and sleeping in. I LOVE Colin Firth.
