A Couple Computerized Creations *UPDATED*

These were just a couple of things I did over the past couple of afternoons since (thanks to mid-terms) we have no home work and I didnt know what to do with my self. I sketched a picture of lestat too but that is for a later time. So here are a couple of things I made with gimp, and they look so much better when they are at actual size but unfortunatly I had to size them down to fit. Enjoy!





Here are a couple of new ones, and thank every one for all the awesome critique. This first one is a rendition of my circles to make it rose like. Thanks for the suggestion, im just not sure how it turned out. The others are just random I want to play on gimp.

I love this one! I actually have no idea how on earth I'm meant to critique computerized drawings, seeing as I know nothing about them but I shall just blabber instead I love all the visual elements <is trying to sound like she actually knows something about art Anyway! I love it

I absolutely adore this one! I think it's my favourite. The colours are lovely, they blend in beautifully together. xD Then, you can look at it from the surface, but it also looks three dimensional, if ya get what I mean. You could reach down inside the picture.

This one is interesting. For some reason it reminds me of something to do with the brain. All those small individual pieces :S how bad am I at explaining things? It's not my favourite, but it's still good

Loves it! It makes me think of dreaming. The outer edge is multicoloured clouds, to signify head in the cloud aka dreaming, then there's like... a whirlpool in the middle, and that's when you really get lost in your head, the colours there become more vibrant and less vague. If ya get what I mean about dreaming...


I love these Tab They are really nice, furthermore they are subtle, not technicalized <erm... I couldn't think of the right word and pixsilated

HI Tabitha!

So here I am, going to critique your work. I haven't used gimp yet, but I am planning to soon.

1.Gosh, i love it. I've tried making these with photoshop and have never worked out. I love it! I would suggest you to use some other colour like green/ blue that would make the thing seem more 'science-fiction-ish'!

2.It's nice and intricate and I love the way you've playes with the colours, but it doesn't seem very striking. You could put in a pictyre of gears or a robot or a CD in the center, that would make it loook like a really good wallpaper.

3.NOt one of my faves. I like the right bit of it, kind of like a gemstone but then, toward left it kind of goes off. (I can't explain it right) And the smudgy lines on he left are distracting, it doesn't look good.
A better variant of it would be trying to create a glossy black gem, with some pattern reflecting off it. Try that.

4.I love this. Makes me wanna stare at at it for hours!. Really good work!
A tip for improvisation: Try twisting(not the right word, but kind of like, try and clay-model) the circles to create a rose-like effect.

5.I love this too, kind of how it focuses into the center and smudgy around the corners.

lava, thanks for the idea. I updated it with some new pictures and i attempted making it look more rose like but im not sure how it turned out. Thanks every one for tha comments and critiques. These things are so much fun to make and toy around with I can use all the helpful tips I can get. I am also aspiring to my a graphic designer and go to an art based collage so tips and stuff are awesome!

firstly, the rose thing(It's nice, ) - good effort, though it now reminds me of corals for some reason. I'm sure with a li'l mire toying you could get it. You should try putting more circl-y things towards the center.

Splotches - Love them! I guess this is what people manipulate to get fireworks. I don't know if it'll work , but I need to give it a try.

The mesh thing - It may be good to train you, but it isn't visually appealing.

star thing- Nice, i love the flow-in/ out effect, too good!

last one- Love the oil pastel effect. It gives me the image of a guy with his shadow. I love the use of light and dark shadings.

Well done again!

Okay so first off: I LOVE these, I only saw a few things I wasn't to fond of.

I didn't like the smudge on the left. I think part of it had to do with the positioning of the shape, I would have had it more to the right of the photograph leaving more white space to the left and I would have stretched the smudge to the left. It would be more appealing, I think.

These two are amazing! If you have Windows Media Player on your computer you should click on the tab "Now Playing" then scroll down to "Visualizations" then "Battery" and click on "dance of the freaky circles" because this is what it reminds me of, brilliant.

I enjoy the shape and texture but I found the colors to remind me of a carnival.

This one is another one of my favourites; I like how the purple fades to blue and the red to green. Good use of your colors.

These two are very similar, I prefer the first one because of how the lines move - they are more separated and look more free-flowing. #8's lines are more pronounced and feel harsh.

This is something I would place above my couch. I couldn't find anything significant about the shapes, and I wish I could of, if they had a meaning even if the shape was something corny like a heart it would of made it better. I loved the texture, it looked like a watercolour painting, it was very relaxing.

Wow, this is amazing. If I tried to do something like that on the computer it would end up a big disfigured blob.

Oh, and I noticed that you said

When you say Lestat, do you mean the Lestat? As in Louis, Armand, Claudia Lestat? As in Anne Rice's Lestat? Lestat as in played by Tom Cruise in the movie Interview with the Vampire? I love those novels!!! (If that's not what you were talking about, then you can just ignore me. Hahaha.)
