The Day it Rained Ash

Sirens wail around you as the sky blackens and ash falls from the sky. The world is a massive torrent of fire. The news reporters frantically yell into their microphones to the people who haven't gone outside to see what was the matter. "Reporting from the White house, September 13 2012. The streets are in mayhem..." A woman reporter shouts. From the ash three horsemen ride. Past, Present, and Future. Their noble gazes stun everyone into silence. Present gives a nod to the other two and they ride off into the city. Into the country. Into the world. Late at night you are awoken by a rap on your window. A rap meant only for you. A man waits outside on a tall horse. He is either strong and burly, thin and elegant, or gaunt like death. He tells you to come with him. The fate of the world is in your hands.

You run through the ash that speckles the streets and clogs the streetlamps. You are hoisted onto his horse and you ride through towns, swift as time. You see the devastation and the death. The crumbling buildings and the ever threatening cloud that swallows everything in it's way. He stops and turns your head towards his. He says the words you have never been able to face. "The apocalypse is here." Gradually 9 other random people are assembled before the brilliant men. "God has given us a chance for redemption. Only you can save the world."

Hate will kill us all. But what has been operating behind the scenes? You are given the descriptions of creatures that have been working in secret to wipe the planet of all original life, then take it over themselves. They have a base in Washington DC, Hong Kong, India, and Sydney Australia. They have powers that rival Earth's. But they need one vital item. It is located somewhere in the world. It is a race to the finish and will take all kinds to achieve. The alien force doesn't know where it is yet but they are looking. Subtle hints in nature show the way. Mother Earth knew this was going to happen. She was prepared.

The three horsemen are only men but they will help you. You are a motley crew but your fates were thrown together for a purpose. To beat the aliens to the item that will either save the world or destroy it. There is ten of you. You are given the first hint to the worldwide search.

They need you all. Dropping out is not a choice. You will begin in New York City. You will watch out for the Aliens. They are clever and will try to deceive you in many ways. The horsemen can help you but not lead you. Watch out for the Alien bases. Once you are captured you will be killed. Do not let that happen.

Name: Ballow Linx

Gender: Male

Age: (ranging from 8-25) 17

Personality: He is usually the happy one, the thinking one. The one who smiles when there is no escape. Sometimes this slips and a solemn expression will cross his face, this is when he is reminded of his past. He has an unusual sense of humor and generally is a nice guy. Just don't catch him when his smile slips.

History:

While smoking one day in his youth in his own backyard with friends over, he was about 13 and was peer pressured into it, he threw the smoke onto the ground in disgust. The smoke still smoldering eventually used the leaves on the ground it landed in as fuel. The fire grew until it was a massive wall of flame which engulfed his own house, Ballow and his friends, laughing at his behavior at smoking had walked off to go to the skating park.

His sister, 7 year old Hailey, the sister he doted on and loved dearly, was burnt to death.They had to identify her body, it was just char, by her dental record. His mother and father hadn't been as lucky. They had choked on the smoke and both of them suffered severe burns. They fell into pain induced comas and his mother died. His father was on life support , but they ran out of money and pulled the plug.

Just before they pulled the plug, his father woke up and smiled with his scarred and barely visible melted mouth. He said in a dry tone, "You did good son." Then he died because the support which had kept him breathing was switched off.

Ballow blames himself for their deaths and told himself he would live a happy life for them to be proud of. But at times he forgets himself and grief wins over him. He is uncontrollable in this state. Ballow has lived by himself for four years and tries to pull together the tatters of his broken life. He is woken by the elegant man.

Special ability: Amazing agility and extreme speed.

Weakness: He cannot tolerate any type of open flame. Or smoke or even a very bright light. He had a terrible phobia of them now.

Name: Mary Emmery
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Personality: Mary is witty at times, but mostly serious. She is very kind and sensitive. Also very romantic.
History: She grew up where everybody teased her because of her eyes (see below picture). She grew tired of them teasing her so she moved to home school. Her father was very sick and her mother died after Mary was born. She grew up basically tending to her fathers every whim until he died. Then she bounced from house to house until faking her age and renting out her own apartment.
Special ability: She can see through lies in an instant.
Weaknesses: If you threaten children, she will do anything you want her to, and she was never taught to swim.

Age: 15
Personality: he is a strong silent type but when he does speak he gives he gives wise advice or spreads his feelings on the situation to others. though is towering height makes him look menacing he is a kind soul.
Appearance: he is 5 foot 11 a/2 inches, he has short brown hair that he dyed white, slightly tanned skin he has blue eyes but wears colored contacts that make them look green. he is slightly muscular and looks slightly mean because of his usually unfeeling expression though when he shows emotion it is strong taking over all of his aspects to do the same.
History:
he was picked on when he was younger for of his shortness (he did not get big till he was 13) he had always been slightly negative because of that. he was also hit when he was younger. when he was 10 he ran away from home and took to the streets where he was shown nothing but what he was used to. he was able to find a few willing to accept him and he was befriended and helped. because of his size he was used a lot for breaking in jobs that no one else could do and was also made into the brain of the operation because of his brain power that was at a genius level. when he turned 13 he gradually got taller sprouting from his 5 foot 1 height to a tall 5 foot 11. after that he became more useful to them making him more into the tough one and learned to fight from many gang fights. when the encounter hit he had lost all of his new friends as they ran for the hills and stumbled into the meeting for the key and decided he wanted to do some good before the world ended and turn away from his crime filled life.
special ability: he has a genius level IQ and the ability to turn scraps of metal into anything he pleases with the right tools he also has a great skill in unarmed and armed combat
Weakness: he is very uncaring and will not hesitate to leave a member behind if it means he will win, he may have a hard time staying on the right side and could be persuaded to leave
Other: because of his time on the streets Kevin is a pretty good liar and also hard to break and can be hard to be made afraid because of him seeing so much already

Personality: he is a sort of a spoiled brat. he has a habit of being negitive and taking sort cuts not liking to do his own work
Apperence: he is is hispanic with a slight accient, he has jet black hair with 3 steraks of redgoing on the sides and top. he has brown eyes. he is handsome with defining fetures that go well toghther. he is 5 foot 7 inches and has a beard that is not completly in yet
history:
his backround was a good one he would useually get waht he wanted when he wanted it. he had been taking out of school and in stead givin tutors after he had robbed on several occasions by meaner kids. he has never had any rules to follow realying on his dad to keeping out of trouble which worked. when he was 12 he meet some other rich kids and along with them he got into a lot of trouble and so was sent to boarding schools in almost every place because of his in ability to stay at one school for more then a few months. though because of this he has learned several laguages. when the disaster struck he had been on a joy ride on his fathers motor cycle and he had made his way to the meeting right when the gas wnt empty
his ability: he knows all but a few languages and can sign and read lips along with all other forms of communication. he can crack any secret code and also figure out what anyone says even when in the languages he does not know.
Weakness: he likes short cuts and can be very lazy and uninterested in the mission usually just folowing them because he has no where else to go and has nack for doing dangurous things that get the team in a mess

Personality: She is very loyal and kind, and is the rock in mayhem and difficult situations. She's very calm. She may look extremely delicate, but she is stronger than she looks.

History: Everyone has been very careful with her her entire 17 years of living, and she's tired of it. Even so, she won't go off on any of them, because she knows they mean well. When Present came to her, she was excited and scared, but she knew she was about to do something worthwhile and important.

Weakness: She can't swim, and she doesn't have a whole lot of muscle on her.

Age: 20

Personality: Ethan is a man of few words. He's reserved and a bit shy upon first meeting him. He isn't really a people person and doesn't like taking orders unless he has to. He's observant and creative, though doesn't admit to it. He can be witty and sarcastic when he wants to, but tries his hardest not to talk unless absolutely necessary.

Appearance: Here. Shaggy black hair and green eyes. Stands about 6' 1" and is slender in build, though stronger than he looks.

History: Ethan was raised by doting, loving parents that practically smothered him. His childhood was completely uneventful, in his opinion. He got an average education and only went to college for a year until he dropped out and decided to travel the world as a photographer. He's been doing so ever since he was 19 and loves what he does.

Special ability: Ethan is great with his hands. He can fix just about anything, given time and the right tools. He also has a near-photographic memory.

Weakness: He often gets caught up in the possibilities and doesn't take the time to consider the outcome. He's a bit reckless and a horrible procrastinator.

Other: Ethan knows a good deal about medicine since his mother was a neurologist and his father a surgeon.

Name: Marley Britton

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Personality: Marley is level-headed and can remain calm and composed in situations most other people can’t. She’s careful about where she steps and always looks around at all the possible outcomes before she makes a move. When she’s mad, she will become indifferent. She’s normally kind and sweet around other people and her advice is usually good.

Appearance: Here. Curly brown hair that reaches a few inches past her shoulders, and blue/gray eyes. Stands about 5' 7" and is very slim/slender.

History: Marley was born in California with no knowledge of who her father was. Her mother refused to tell her, and eventually Marley gave up trying to find out. When she was fourteen, her mother died of lung cancer. She left a note to her daughter, telling her that her father was an actor that she had met at a party he had had a one night stand with her. Marley, not knowing what else to do, tracked down her biological father. He was skeptical at first, but eventually came to accept that she was his daughter. She has been living with him ever since, but rarely sees him thanks to his busy schedule. While her father is away, she is usually taken care of by either his assistant or their housekeeper.

Special ability: Marley is an extraordinary liar, to the point where she is almost never caught in the act of lying. She's also computer-savvy and can hack into computer network in the world without being detected.

Weakness: Marley is incredibly claustrophobic and isn’t fond of large crowds, either.

Personality: he is a calm person keeping cool under pressure usually making wise cracks and his very friendly but can make bad first impressions

History: He grew up in Manhasset ( a town on Long Island) He lived in a nice home but until he was 13 was constantly picked on and getting beaten up. He finally had enough and stood up for himself and fought them back and won and then after that he became the guy who the bullies hated and constantly attacked. Has a result he learned to fight well from the various attackers he fought off. When the disaster happened he had been in New York to see a play but that was cut short when his parents disappeared and he wandered over to the group.
Special ability: He is a very good fighter and can make anyone laugh even in the worse situation
Weakness: He can sometimes take his jokes to far and make things worse and people hate him and he also ca be tricked easily

Age: 18

Personallity: River is extremely bubbly, she's sarcastic, and loves to make people laugh.

Special Ability: She has an amazing connection with animals and can make any inanimate object come to life

Weakness: She's afraid of thunder and lightning and of people yelling at her. She's also blind in her right eye.

Appearance: Here but she has her hair in a ponytail a lot and she has bright green eyes ~Her hair is blonde with brunette undertones. About 5'6~

History: River grew up with her parents as a happy kid until she was eight, then, her parents were killed out of nowhere and she was sent to an orphanage, due to the fact that nobody wanted a 'freak kid'. She found Conan when she was ten, and the was blinded by one of the orphanage workers when she was twelve. She recently left the orphanage, on the way to college through loads of scholarships, until this whole think happened. She's been abused since she was nine.

Others: She owns a stuffed dog names Patches that she's had since birth. She usually hides him in her bag when nobody's around, but when she's alone she brings him to life and lets him sit on her shoulder. She also has a real wolf that she found when she was ten named Conan. Up for love as well
