I still thought that the silver on the cans were a bit too show-off, somehow that thing kept irritating me even at this moment of danger. I could feel the danger; it flowed in the air like a shadow… Shadow, I thought, what a corny name for something dangerous.

“So what is this shadow you were talking abo-,“ I was cut off by Melody’s hand on my mouth, her face was only a few inches away from mine; I could smell that she was wearing some kind of perfume- or was it her natural sent –that smelled just like fresh summer flowers. She put one finger on her mouth and said, “Shh.”

I followed suit, still mesmerized by her closeness, this couldn’t be fit for a man of my status… Now was it?

My thoughts were cut of by a snorting sound. I lifted my head above the can to see what was making it. What I saw stunned me; the thing was uglier than a troll, it had the upper body of a hog and the lower body of a human, its hands were mutated so that it had furry fingers with black nails. I gasped at the sight of it. It turned its head my way, I pulled my head back and hoped it hadn’t seen me.
I didn’t hear steps, so I the danger was over. Or so I thought until I saw a shadow hanging over me; I looked up just to bee met with the drooling face of a hog, in an instant Melody had delivered a powerful punch straight in the middle of the disgusting face. She pulled me up from my sleeve and started to run, I followed suit.

As we ran I looked behind us, the golden street had already vanished from under us, we had entered the werewolf slums, and even the werewolves that had looked at me with their “not so warm” eyes not so long ago had locked themselves inside their houses. The slums were a grey are even on the map that Melody had handed me, it was a combination of turns and dead ends. There were no silver trashcans to be seen in this part of the city, instead all the rubbish had dumped on the sides of the houses.

I also saw a bunch of the earlier creature’s friend, they were all mutants. Combination of human and animal, man and beast. They were gaining on us; we took a sharp turn to the right just to be met with a wall, we were just about to turn around and run for it but the mutants had reached us.
Melody raised her fists, her green eyes flickering with sparks. I looked in awe as she held her hands stretched before her, from the piles of rubbish besides our attacker grew a wine that tied a few of the enemies down, but to our great bad luck, the wine only took hold of a few of the creatures. Melody cursed, she looked at me as if to ask me to do something. I didn’t know what to do! I hadn’t been attacked by screaming mutants before. Big ugly and smelly mutants that had swords… Swords! That was it. He stretched his hand to his hip, where the sword lay in its cover, he pulled it out. It felt much lighter than that day that he had stolen it. The angered mutants close around them, Melody looked at the sword “Where did you get that?”
“Stole it,” I answered.
One of the mutants leaped at us, my hand moved. I didn’t move it. It was like something had moved my hand. And when I looked down I saw a mutant carcass just before my feet. I took a step back. The other mutants had fallen silent. There was some murmur inside the ranks of the monsters. They then looked up at me. One of them that wielded some kind of armour- I suspected him to be the leader of the bunch –shouted “ ten thousand denarii’s for the one who catches the sword!”

I couldn’t help but wonder how the creature even managed to speak, given that it seemed to lack all speech organs to make words.

But that was the least of my problems, since the mutants were closing up, trying to poke me with their swords.
God forbid this wasn’t something I should be doing. I was nothing more than a banker.
Melody was franticly looking for an escape route. Until her eyes lighted up.
I looked at the place she was starring at. I saw a small hole in a wall that led to the other side of the so called “dead end, “no way,” I said.

She stared at me sternly; the expression didn’t fit her beautiful face, “Well do you have any other ideas?”

I had to give it to her; she made a good point. One of the monsters leaped at us, just to be met by the tip of my sword. I was a natural at killing mutants.
We were slowly closing up at the hole when the mutants decided to change tactics. They leaped all with full force at us, slashing and scratching, I tried to hit them away, but they had over powered us. I could feel my bones being crushed by the weight of the monster on top of me. I heard sirens. The police?
I never found out because I soon fell to a pit of darkness that engulfed my vision.

Hmm...

A little finishing at this part
Example: "So what is this shadow you were talking abo-," Melody`s hand pushed on my mouth cutting off my words. Her face was inches away from mine and I dared to look into her green eyes losing myself. I could smell her perfume - or was it her natural sent - that smelled just like fresh summer flowers? She put one finger on her mouth and whispered a quick "Shh!"

We were slowly closing up at the hole when the mutants decided to change tactics. They leaped all with full force at us, slashing and scratching, I tried to hit them away, but they had over powered us. I could feel my bones being crushed by the weight of the monster on top of me. I heard sirens. The police?

Add: We were slowly closing up at the hole when the mutants decided to change tactics. I saw Melody swifting in battle stances and I saw how the beasts leaped at us with full force. I tried to hit them away, but my sword, my fists were useless at this close range. I was knocked to the ground and so was Melody. My bones got crushed by the weight of the monster on top of me. My breath stopped, I stopped. Sirens! The police?

I just want to make something clear with this post. Melody doesn't get pinned down. she is the one who pulls Jack into the hole.
