Well this is just a drawing i did a little while ago. The one in the front with the little braids and the funny princely outfit is Kirun. As you can see he's an elf and a very... skinny one at that. The one with the ponytail, standing a bit behind him is Ezra. I intentionally made them look very lengthy and skinny with i guess you could say oversized heads. I thought it wasnt that much of a difference but all my little sister tells me about the drawing is how big their heads are so i just thought i would make a mentions of this.

Please tell me what you think and if theres things i should improve on! Thank you!

Hi there.

The first thing I noticed is that the chin looks too sharp. I think there should be more of a roundness to them. The same can be said for the nose and part of the mouth. Some of the arms and legs look a bit too thin and doesn't really lool realistic. I also think there's something wrong with the waist line of the characters. It looks kind of thin in my opinion. Lastly, the neck of the 2nd character looks too stiff.

the picture is okay but the nose and the face is a bit too sharp. The fingers are awkward but i guess that the hands are one of the most hardest to draw.

I like the way you place to draw two chararcters together and the pose and costume is wonderful. What worries me is the neck of the girl or the position of the face but with a little practice it will work well

The big heads are fine in manga-style. XD

To me, at least...

Onto the review!

These are really, really nice.

Only a few things
-I agree with Squall that the chins are too pointy.
-I thought Kirun (I love that name) was a girl because it looks like he has hips... Remember, boys' waists don't curve in as much as ours do!
-Ezra's face and clothes are very feminine.
-Ezra's neck is too thick and curves at an odd angle.
-What kind of position is Ezra in? Is he facing away from us? Towards us?

Hope this helped,
Sakura

Theses are really good. No flaws here.

These are very good all you need to do now is add color to them and I think they would look perfect

I love the idea.

The drawing would pop out way more if it was colored or even just shaded.

It hart to tell if Ezra is view from the back or from the front

The strait arm of Ezra her hand look like at the same level of the hand of Kirun.

Kirun arm (the hided one) you should be able to see more of it.

the head of Ezra is at a weird angle making it hard to tell the front fro the back.

I thing that you need to check on the proportion. (i know it hard i have trouble with that too.)

I love the way you drew the clothing, very nice choice.

keep working on it. :)

I really like it, they're pretty, XD
However, their ears look so sharp they could pop a balloon, and even though they appear to be elves, I think you could tone down the sharpness in the face. They also appear very skinny, unhealthily so, you might want to go back and fatten them up a bit. Ezra's head is turned to the side, but maybe you could put some lines on the side of her neck to show it better. I really like them, and I usually am not fond of manga, good job.
Feel the urge to give some constructive criticism? Why not give it to these stories?

This is my one of my favourite drawings so far, i just love how the characters are positioned!
Just one comment though, the way her hand is facing I feel like his should be slightly directed towards it or more firmly planted on his pants.
Also from the way his right shoulder is pointed i feel it would look more natural if his right hand was a little higher.
Good job!

All in all its good.

It has a very managa/anime style to it and that's great it's a very popular style.

The eyes are well done, and with manga the big two identifiers are eyes and hair.

You're lines are a bit heavy, but since it's a scan it's hard for me to tell if you drew lightly first and went in and darkened them. I developed a real problem with heavy lines while sketching when I was in school it's no big thing. The best thing to do is draw lightly (I know it can be so hard to do) and go in once you've finished the sketch and either do heavy lines with a pencil or pen. You can erase the left-overs afterwards and it will make the picture look a lot cleaner. And one thing I've learned a clean steady lines that flow will make it look a hundred times better.

When you're doing lazy sketches of course don't worry about it, go crazy!

You have a pretty good sense of proportion and that's a big thing. It's the number one thing really to get the hang of. Even when doing 3D art and someone reviews your demo reel for a job, the first thing they look for is a sense of proportion (if it's modeling--creation).

Feet (clothed or not) and hands are the two biggest pains to get right. The biggest tip I can give here is an exercise that we had to do was draw your own hands. In as many positions as possible and if you have a bakers timer or a clock set a time for yourself--like two minutes. Just concentrate on the form of the hand, don't worry about shadows. (Also just glance at your hand and then don't look back at it and don't stop drawing from memory until the timer stops, then just check out the finished work. You shouldn't always do that of course, but it will train your memory of how the form of the hand looks and it will get your brain to remember how to translate it into lines on paper)

I know two minutes seems short, but in life drawing classes (where you draw naked people--mostly) you'll have to do sketches in less than a minute of an entire body. It seems ridiculous, but after doing it like a thousand times (bit of an exaggeration) you'll find that when you are drawing without the timer your lines will come out clean and confident and your proportions of the hands will be fantabulous.
Also on a note of proportion of the hand to the rest of the body--A hand is about the same size as your face (from chin to hairline) for an average sized hand.

Feet can be far harder (in my opinion) and to really get those down look at other peoples feet, especially for boots and stuff. Then go crazy drawing them.

Clothes--Wrinkles and folds are an absolute nightmare. Though you have a good sense for where they go. Again I can't help but say just look at how clothes wrinkle. When drawing clothes its good to draw just the shadows and it will expose where the creases should be in line art. Manga can go both ways as far as the amount of detail into clothing wrinkles. From super detailed, to hardly any at all.

Again I think you did very well and this actually kind of turned into a semi-guided tip post, but whatever :).

Where you could use work:

Hands, Feet, Line Clarity (especially if you want to do animation) and minor proportion adjustments.

Where you did well on:

Your proportion (I know I put you could work on it some, but that's the thing, artists tend to be hypocritical like that.."You need to work on this, but not that"..."But those are the same things...")
The Eyes, and the hair (and while you could use work there too, its really well done...hair can be tricky so I had to put this as a good point).
Overall design and composition.

More Tips:
A good place to start for studying human form is an Anatomy Book and draw muscle structures and bones of a body, like arms by themselves, thighs--legs as a whole, the torso without anything else, the lower half of the jaw the neck and the trapezes muscles. All of that will help you eventually put together an amazing piece.

Anime is all of that, but with less lines really.

Keep up the good work...I look forward to seeing more.

woa, Im not surprised no one has commented after J_Fang. That was intense JT. Then again, I bet all that stuff was a HUGE help. I know it's going to help me eventually.

Anyway, I really liked it, but I agree with everyone else that the faces are a bit to angular. Soften it up a bit, maybe add a little more detail to the faces. I think you did a great job on everything, all in all. The wrinkles, proprtions, uh, stuff. And I'm a bit confused about the lines, as well. Was it a blurry scan, or were the lines that thick? I think following JT's advice with the line-ness would help.

Hello, I'm Colt.

I love the picture! I wish I had skills like that. I would draw characters from my novels.

It's style is unique, comical, and anime-ish. It's impressive. The others covered almost everything. Perhaps try coloring it, that is the easiest part to me. :P

The folds and wrinkles of the clothing is messed up, and armor doesn't have wrinkles unless it's cloth or leather, so be careful there.

Great proportion! Good angle for the most part! :P

I would show more arm of the guy, it looks like it's on his butt.

The chins are pointy. :D

Otherwise, it's perfect! Great job!
