Hi guys,I'm going to write a book It's going to be called:"The red string."and It's going to be a romance adventure book.

All I want to know is how I should start it..1.with someone thinking about something.
2.with someone doing something..

How should I start??

Though both can be good ways to start a book, I personally like to start things off dramatically. Action is always a good way to captivate a reader's attention, so I suggest that you start it with someone doing something.
Good luck :3

Well, we can't say a lot without knowing any of the story.

Start off with a hook: something exciting to grab the reader and draw them in. Sometimes I use dialogue, sometimes just a plain interesting statement (for first person) or even by describing the setting, if it's interesting enough. My main story starts off with a statement that makes it feel personal, because there's a prologue, but the actual chapter starts of with describing the setting in a really interesting way.

Bottom line is, it doesn't matter how you start off. Just start. You can always go back and change it when you're editing. That's the beauty of writing; you get to decide everything. ^^ Good luck.

Like Blink said, without knowing more about the story, it's hard to say.

On a very general level, though, I would say start with someone doing something. You want to jump right into the action of the story within at most the first couple of pages or your readers will start to lose interest.

However. If you're starting in the middle of something that's already happened then giving us insight into what they're thinking may be the best way to let us know what's going on.

That's the best I can do for advice without knowing more.

I think starting off with thoughts, as long as they're really memorable. Like if it's something kind of funny or quirky. Something that catched their attention. I think I'd go with the thoughts, though.

You don't have to start at the beginning! This is where a word processor can come in really handy: if you begin writing the middle, then the end and then the opening, you can chop, change and amalgamate as you see fit.
