A cut in the hand
And she tries to clean it up
Guess what, she’s broken the mirror
Now she’ll get seven years of bad luck

Husband’s wasted and drained of emotion
She’s left to fend on her own
This is the same old stage
She’s been going through for some odd years

Chorus:
He leaves her with some promises
Takes the whiskey and drowns in it
She’s smiling all along, but then she cracks
Every promise he’s made he’s broken
She’ll bet it’s the same thing tonight

They both lie, trying to look so perfect
When their house is gloomy
And they’re going downhill

Well, who’s fault is it
Who is the person to blame

Chorus

And he doesn’t stay (you don’t stay)
To see the tears in her eyes (my eyes)
Please stay just once
Maybe we can fix this
Oh, but he goes off again (you go again)

Chorus

And she’s guessing he has to go…

Maybe you can make some promises
That are worth hoping for
No more lies, no more gifts
I just want you

Don’t leave me with any promises
You can’t drown in the whiskey this time…
And we'll be a dream...

Hey there! Haven't read anything of yours in a while.

I quite like this. It has this Alternative feel to it and I like the story that this tells and you could tell that this was very well thought out. I'm not good at critiquing lyrics so you'll just have to excuse this for being of no help and short. But I can imagine a group like Nickelback or Maroon5 or low vs. diamond singing this. ^_^

Good job and keep writing,

how to manifest it.
