The man smiles softly,
but no-one knows why.
On his face a grin,
but his eyes betray the lie,
He's telling to the world,
he's telling to himself,
though all of them are blind.
She mocks him for his faith,
but she will never know,
what she is, to his eyes,
the only truth behind the lies.
He bore the weight
of a thousand years,
all their pains,
and all their fears.
He could feel the truth,
deep in their hearts,
and the things he saw,
they tore him apart.
And when he could,
no longer take,
what all along,
he'd known was fake.
He ended the dream,
with the edge of a knife.
He had searched all his life,
for some shred of proof,
and finally
he knew the truth.
