Merlin

BBC have released a new TV show, 'Merlin,' which I'd love to say is based on the myths and legends in some way, but really, its not. I also wish I could say it was well written or acted but sadly, I can't. They haven't taken an axe to the myths and legends, so much as gone in with a chainsaw, ripped it to pieces, set the pieces on fire and scattered the ashes to the ends of the universe.

It's basically the O.C with magic, now.

Maybe I'm taking this more personally then I should - the very first book I read was one on Arthur and from then on, above all other myths and legends, it has been my favourite - but I hate what they've done.

Unfortunately, due to the aforementioned obsession, I can't stop watching it.

Scratch that. Just saw the last episode of the first season - oh lord the cheese! It was so bad.

Oh my goodness am I the only one who totally loved it? I saw the cheese, I did see it, but oh, did i love it! Maybe it had something to do with Arthur... Hmm...
I am nearly afraid to say I cannot wait for the next series!

Just because Arthur was ridiculously good looking, huh? Haha, I get that. Morgana is gorgeous too. I don't have much hope in it improving, but who knows? I'll keep watching anyway

It makes me shiver.

I mean, are these people blind to clichés and, well, annoyance? The "good" and "evil" are so black and white. And why does Merlin look like that? Where's his cool beard?

Are you crazy? Merlin is WAY better looking than Arthur. I think it is a good show. It's one of those Marmite type things; you either love it or you hate it (or you don't mind it). I hope there's another series. I'm running out of TV shows.
