I need major help with this. My current story has got a relationship as a major plot element (that I am not about to remove) and I want to make it as real as possible.

I would like answers to these questions:

How quickly would a guy forgive if he knew something external was causing a person to act annoying?

How willing would he be to give a girl some space?

How quickly would a guy forgive period?

How quickly would he open up to a nice looking girl?

How resentful would he be if something was forced on him?

Thanks in advance!

*claps happily*

I can talk about real life relationships!! Yay!

Firstly, every single human being is different, so a lot of these questions depend on the personality of your character. So...if a guy really really loves a girl, he's likely to forgive but still be hurt and slightly mistrustful.

*If a pretty girl is throwing herself at him while he's dating someone else, he'll probably be slightly uncomfortable, a little amused, and happy, because she's boosting his self-esteem.

*My boyfriend is always willing to give me space, even though he kind of turns into a lonely puppy - scratching at the door, saying, "When will you come out to play?"

*How resentful would YOU be if something was forced on you?
“We’re still here,” he says, his voice cold, his hands shaking. “We know how to be invisible, how to play dead. But at the end of the day, we are still here.” ~Dax

Teacher: "What do we do with adjectives in Spanish?"
S: "We eat them!"

Good point about the resentful thing. My heroine is rather resentful, but that's because she's never seen him. When he turns out to be a heartthrob, she's not as resentful anymore. When he turns out to be a really nice guy, resentment (almost) goes away.

Oh yeah, he loves her.

No other boyfriends for this girl. She's a tad mistrustful of guys. (she has to keep reminding herself not to get completely involved with him too quickly because of it)

I think the space thing is common enough with the nice guys.

Thanks for answering!

Guys will forgive pretty quickly, but if things repeat, then they get resentful.

How willing would he be to give a girl some space?

A decent boyfriend will give their girlfriends the space that they ask for. They usually have to be very clear about where they want space, though.

How quickly would a guy forgive period?

See answer to #1.

How quickly would he open up to a nice looking girl?

Good looks will grab a guy's attention pretty darn fast, I'll say that. But if looks are all they can offer, she won't keep his interest for long.

How resentful would he be if something was forced on him?

Depends on what's being forced.

Answer these questions for yourself--it's your character, no? Furthermore, any answer to any of these questions will be realistic, to someone. It all depends on what kind of guy you want your character to be!

It all varies a lot from one person to another.
I wrote the above just for you.
