Hi,
This is my first time doing a narrative poem, so it may not be the best. I have some Elizabethan words. I really like the affect it has on the poem, but I am willing to change them if they make no sense. Please tell me what you think, as this is my first narrative poem.

Elizabethan words (will have a ' behind them):
Embrace= Death
Light o' Love= Lust
Callet= Passion
Canker= Grief
A step= Put to death
Agazed= An ass
Yeanling= eternal

Hidden faces and masked love,
a ball that filled and then broke her heart.
His potion stronger than embrace'
touched her lips,
making her forget all for a night of light o’ love’.

Misery was kindled
when they swore affection to each other,
without thinking ahead, their emotions too bright.
Their callet’ strong,
but not enduring enough to flame.

Her owners found out of the scornful event,
for these two lovers were not to be mates.
Cries of anguish came from her sweet lips;
her pain increased at the word forbidden.

She was banished to her chamber,
where she was to stay until her mind sane.
She awaited her sweet, sweet love,
to save her from her canker’.

His mother cried tears of anger,
for her only son was in love with the unspoken one.
He was disowned for being a disgrace,
left on the streets,
but he would search for his love.

Their love was dawned again,
once she escaped from her chamber.
They shared a night of lust,
two young lovers,
naive to the darkness that was to fall.

Seen by a guard he was sentenced to be a step’,
for he had sinned against his family.
He was not love a girl so 'foolish' and young.
And she not to love him,
for he was agazed’.

His potion stronger than embrace’
touched her lips for the last time,
making her forget all,
for she was now alone.

She watched from a tower high above,
as her lovers life ended.
A hot flush creeping up her neck,
for they had swore to a yeanling’ of love.

She searched for something to end her canker’,
fatal potion or something sharp.
A dagger lay close,
and with a plunge to the heart,
she was no longer alone.

I really enjoyed this piece. It sparked my imagination and hearts burning desire for the unknown but yet all familiar. The Elizabethan words brought chemistry and definition to your poem that made your words unique and filled with ancient life. I felt the desire that the two lovers had for each other and believed in the essence of their beginning and end together. This was very deep. The only thing that I wish you would include is more feelings and emotion. This seems to be a very emotional poem and I believe with more emotion it would add a traumatic and everlasting impression on the reader and those in the future. You have an amazing gift and I marvel in your potent ability to write.

Her owners found out of the scornful event,

Cries of anguish came from her sweet lips;
her pain increased at the word forbidden.

This was my favorite part of the poem. I felt her anguish. I felt her pain. I just feel that something more could be done to draw me in more. I don't know, when I write and when I read others writing I search for something different. I wan to be slapped in the face and taken away from my body and enveloped in hope and magic. I believed you, and I believed in them. Good job! Keep writing! This was a very good narrative poem!

That was great. I am new to the whole website so I am not sure what its suppose to be like. Oh well in my head that was so beautiful. It was on topic and never verred off. I thought it was just like romeo and juliet(sorry if I spelled it wrong). I hope that's what you were going for. Over all it was awesome and the new words were a great touch. Thanks for the key that was nice. Well keep writing I loved it.

I love this! the Elisebethan words really add to it. It is very much like Romeo and Julet, but I still love it. i do agree with the emotion comment, but be carefull not to ruin the poem too much.
well behaved women rarley make history.
