SOUTHERN TRIBES OF SHUR

WHO ARE THE SOUTHERN TRIBES OF SHUR:

The Southern of Shur are a body of tribes, each tribe with its individual god. These tribes have got together because of their believe in one same god: The king of spirits: Shur, whom sends them marching to extend the borders of theeir lands, and to search the truth behind life.
Each tribe serves a different god a different style of life. The gods are gods of a chosen element: god of Fire: Roldam the fire sword; god of water: Sel the Wave bringer; god of thunder and lightning: Thur the thunder hammer; god of wind: Oroan the god of tornados.
After the tribes merged together for the glory that they could achieve, they started worshipping each others gods. The tribes also had gods that they shared before the merger: They were: Fals god of earth and life; Eraz god of pain and death; Soz god of wisdom and work; and Shur the king of spirits, awakener of the other gods and the crusher of enemies.
The people worship Shur as the king of the gods, because he was the one that conquered lands of their enemies, awakened the other gods from their slumber of eternity and wields an armor of a greater daemon, human sword and the powers of a god.

HISTORY:

Of Shur:

Shur was created. Shur was created by some force from above. He was born into a world that had no form. He had no form. He was given a mind, a strong mind. Whit this mind he made himself a body. He was an angle of death. He was told to stop the force that terrorized the formless world. That was imprinted into him. There were many others there with him. They all went to stop the force of destruction that had risen against their lord. He fought alongside other angels. He gained knowledge. In the end the force from above closed gates the gates to hold the force of eternal darkness; the force from above closed them with a spell very strong.
When the old ones created the world, they released the chaos and unknown to many awakened the very old spirit: Shur.
Shur understood that something was free, something similar to the force that he had fought against. He understood his task that was imprinted in him. But this world was new, it had something in it. This world “was”. Shur had to adapt. He found a human (after a very long time hovering bodiless) and made it his body, Thus he “was”. But because his mind was so strong the body could not perfectly handle the spirit and became a semi stable body, in other words a semi solid. Shur traveled around the world. He killed every chaos that he found. One day Shur found a greater daemon, He fought it. Shur and the daemon fought for two days, but eventually Shur and the greater daemon clashed in a flash of swords and magic. A powerful strike at each other. They fused together because of the magnitude of the attack and their high spiritual power thus making Shur from semi real to real and because he was originally had a very strong mind he could destroy the daemons mind almost completely and take control of their fused body. Whit his remaining powers he made the daemons body resemble more a normal human body, but he could not get rid of some things like: the goat horns and wings. Thus he re-constructed the dragon wings to resemble angle wings.
Even some other things remained but he hid them under the armor of the daemon that he had re-forged with his old armor, to make himself a knight armor. This incident made Shur more aggressive than ever. This also made Shur see things in a different way, in a more aggressive, more ambitious way. Shur after this went on a travel across the world. He got to understand humans, dwarfs and elves. He once went to an Empire city; there they called him things like. Look it is a Daemon. Or: He is a god. The more he traveled the more he started to hate the undead, he once said “Those who die, should stay dead, and those buried should stay in the dirt. Once dead you should not wake but stay in the ground and let the new generations live.”
After traveling long he found a group of gods that were slumbering for eternity because of a spell long forgotten. Shur woke these gods and made them swear loyalty to him under a spell; this spell was a spell that would destroy the god that would not honor the promise to Shur.
Thus Shur became a leader. Soon after Shur found many tribes and brought them together. After this Shur and the other gods taught them how to fight, how to control the earth, fire, water and wind. After this they said what they wanted in return: they wanted these people to worship and serve them for eternity. The tribe now started war with all their neighbors and eventually with the help of the gods, conquered them all. In this time Shur adapted some things from the tribal people these were; manners, code of law, the way of hunting and respecting the land. Shur now changed his sword for a spear-hammer a spear that had a hammer on the other side, and made himself a tribal shield.

Because of Shur's adoptions he wrote a code of law that was:
1. Respect the land, the water, forests and skies.
2. Respect the gods
3. Use appropriate manners at all times
4. Do not take prisoners if there is no need for prisoners
5. Undead are those to fear and those whom have to be destroyed.

Code of manners:
1. A guest is to be treated with respect.
2. never attack enemies from the back, always faces them before killing (only scouts can flank enemies.)
3. Respect your visitors, should they be friend or enemy

Law of the hunters:
Never kill in exes. Never kill for fun, only enemies are to be killed for fun.

Living there just under the empire of the Tomb kings was dangerous, Shur did not want to start war with them because he wanted to spare the lives of his people. Shur still was good even though he had momentary aggressive urges to destroy. So he made sure the people would not know about the undead. After this the gods went away and rarely appeared, to every god there was appointed one great shaman, ten normal shamans and hundreds of priests.

History of the gods:

All the slumbering gods hate Eraz, the god of pain and death… Why? He was their enemy. He is why they were slumbering.
When the god came to being they roamed over the lands happy, ruled their people happy, until Eraz came. Eraz came with his people and brought pain and death over the other gods. Before Eraz came there were ten gods. He killed most of them. The gods one day united to kill Eraz. The went to kill him by his altar, but before they could Eraz cast a spell a spell that made them slumber for eternity.
Now the gods can not kill Eraz so they are unhappy, but Shur is so good at leading the gods that the gods are beginning to forget.

History of the people:

At first there was one man. He lived in the jungle raised by the animals; bears, monkeys, wolfs, lions and the dears. He one day ventured outside the jungle. That was when he found other people. A primitive gang that had no respect for animals, land or others. The man went with them, learned their ways and language. One day the man chose to become leader. He challenged the old leader into a fight. He won easily and was anointed leader. He was called Reuh the man of the jungle. After his death the gang had upgraded into a very primitive tribe. The tribe was now without leader and it fell into smaller tribes. Each tribe met one of the ten gods and lived happy trading with each other in peace. But then came Eraz. The tribes after this fled to other places. Most of them went into the jungle where Reuh had lived and stayed there. Until one day Shur found them. After this they conquered the desert just aside the jungle, a savannah and small forests. Then the gods stopped making them to go to war. After this the tribes lived silently and divided into groups yet again: tribe of fire, tribe of water, tribe of wind, tribe of lighting. One day a group of Empire soldiers that were looking for new land to conquer came to one of these villages and thought that they could occupy it… They were terribly mistaken. The soldiers did not understand that the tribe was bigger than it looked like at first, so when they attacked they were killed. Only one survived and he was questioned: where did you come from?
The soldier told them, after that he was killed. The Tribes were united once again by the Great shaman of Shur: who said: Under the power of Shur our union will bring down those who do not understand the earth, or us.

So they came to the new world.

Lundf said to his troops: “Today if we die we die for Shur! “ AYE shout the warriors. “NOW RIDE WITH ME, RUN WITH ME, AND CRAWL WITH ME TILL THE BITTER END!.
So they left. Lundf won: ogres, green skins, undead, but one day as he was luring a green skin army to a trap he was stopped by two other green skin forces. Lundf was sure he would die… but then he heard a loud BOOM many of the green skins died. Lundf ran to look what was making this commotion what he saw changed his life: He saw a great dwarf on a shield hitting and killing green skins. Lundf saw the cannons shooting at the enemy. After this Lundf made an oath to himself: I shall become like them

As said, the name tells everything. Herland loves to kill ogres he loves to carry their bones around. Why? He is obsessed. Why is that? You may ask, well that is because he hates ogres. Well you might have guessed that. He actually both hates and loves ogres. He loves their strength and courage. He hates their outer appearance and manners. Alright , for a start you can't have gods, gods are unbalanced. Even the Greater Daemons of chaos aren't gods, they're just buffed up daemons. No other race has corporeal or semi-corporeal gods, so it doesn't really gel with the rest of the warhammer world, which should be an aim if you're cranking out a new army book.

Elephant riders are a good idea, and have already been incorporated to an extent through Lizardmen stegadons; look to them for ideas on advanced rules.

Camels are another good one to bring in, but be advised that they would have pretty poor armour save.

For the Shamen, would you run it like daemons, with bound spell power determined by numbers? or some kind of ranged attack value...

The bamboo catapult is an average idea....made comic by the coconuts, I would consider abandoning it.

The ogre slayers should probably inflict d3 wounds rather than have +1 strength.. and you might want to extend it to ogre-like creatures such as dragon-ogres, trolls, minotaurs, kroxigors, ushabti etcetera.

As for the spells...
The fire spell needs a higher cast level, it's similar to blue-fire, a tzeentch spell.

Power of the gods would be the most powerful spell in the game...tone down the power and the casting requirements.

Overall I think you need to model the effects of your spells and your units after what already exist in the game. Ideas of sacrificing the a specific points cost worth of units, or healing a half of wounds etc, are a little hard to implement and could be easily taken advantage of.

Thos are my preliminary thoughts, keep up the good work
So you're going to kill a god. Sure. But what happens next?
