*fine with me Jacob (what should I call you by the way? or is Jacob fine?) :D*

[Nidge Masterson]

Alice was acting weird, but, hey? Didn't all girls usually act like that once in awhile? I watched her walk down the hall for a bit, turning around then thinking, Wait. What'd she say?

I reached down into my pocket and took out the crumpled piece of paper. Choir, 3rd Period. Hold it. That means... I looked back at schedule and then down the hall. Alice was long gone and the halls were quickly being emptied. I slammed the locker door shut and hurried down the almost deserted corridor.

It was a short walk, the class just around the corner next to an art class. My hand wrapped around the knob slowly. She was in here. Crazy girl. Blushing like mad then having a serious tantrum for something I did and then apologizing for it.

I opened the door and stepped in tentatively, another heavy set man greeting me. Man, these teachers need to get on a work out or something. I thought. A frown deepened on his face making the pencil mustache above it sort of disappear.

"Nidge Masterson?" he asked. "New student?"

"Yes, sir."

He looked me up and down then nodded, the frown lightening up a bit. "Place your things on the table and take a seat in the stands."

"Sure,"

"Yes, sir."

"Er, yes, sir." I corrected.

I put my things on a plastic table at the far end of the classroom and then faced the stands where a group of kids were chatting absently. A few pairs of eyes darting over to me, one of them, Alice. I took the bench right above her and leaned back on the bars behind me.

"Your either psychic or stalking. Is this what you mean by 'later'?" the corners of my lips twitched up a bit briefly.

Alice

She rolled her eyes and laughed. "Hey, I've been taking choir for eight years now. I have every right to be in Honors Chamber Choir.

"All right, all right," the teacher said. "Settle down. Now, today, I'll be hearing you sing so I can ascertain what vocal part you will be singing in our pieces. I would like to bring you up in alphabetical order. Basic warm-ups is all I really need. Oh, I'm Mr. Drake. So, uh, Julia Applegate?"

He scrolled down the list, soprano, alto, bass, tenor, alto, soprano, baritone, bass, second soprano.... Finally he reached the M section. Nidge stepped forward.

"Alright, Mr. Masterson, I want long 'eu' vowels. Down the scale, like 'leu, leu, leu-leu, leu.'"

Nidge had a rich baritone voice--very pleasing to listen to. He reached rather low on the scale, and then Mr. Drake dismissed him with a, "Very nice."

Alice stepped up to the piano at her turn. "Alright, Alice, darling. 'Mahi-mahi', ready?"

Her clear sorano rang out through the room. "Beautiful, Alice. Richard Sippel?"

Alice took her place back in the stands.

*Sure Paramore ^^*

[Nidge Masterson]

The bell rung three solid times, annoying and each ping about three seconds. Waaay too long. Hopefully that was just glitch. About five minutes into the class a girl stepped in. Her hair in the same "bead head" hair-do I saw a couple people wearing around the school. She shoved her hands into yellow pants pockets and yawned.

"Sorry I'm late," she said flatly. It was obvious she didn't mean it, I smirked and glanced at the teacher.

He was about to EXPLODE. Mr. Drake's flabby face turned a dangerous tomato red, a deep frown embedded into his face. "Ooh... some one's in trouble." I murmured over to Alice.

"Sorry? Sorry?" Mr. Drake took in a deep breath then motioned toward the benches. "Just sit down, Miss..."

"Haley,"

"Right, Haley."

The girl walked over with ease and nonchalance, a bored expression painted onto her face. I raised an eyebrow then smiled again, she glanced over to me, confused. "What?" Haley whispered, taking the seat next to mine.

"Nidge," I stuck out my hand. "Cool to meet you."

''Umm...Hayley as you should have guessed already'' I replyed,
I was so tried I could fall fall asleep on that table there. ''Can somebody remind me what lesson this is?'' I said stupidly. Nidge gave that look, ''What I dont no, They just said go that way'' A girl sitting at another table tutted at me. People these days.

"I'm, um, pretty sure it's choir. Hence all the singing..." I glanced up at a boy in the front, Richard? I think that's what Mr. Drake said.

"Oh, yeah."

I leaned back on the benches again, crossing my arms. "I can't believe he didn't explode or anything when you walked in. Did you catch what color his face was?"

Haley shrugged, then said, "Red?" she yawned again.

"This is Alice, by the way." I turned a little and introduced Alice, she hadn't said a word since this girl walked in.

Paige

She heard whispering behind her in choir. She turned to see Nidge, Alice and the new girl behind her. She grinned to see that she wasn't alone in here.

"Hey Alice, Nidge! And your name is... Haley, right?"

The girl nodded and smiled back.

"I'm Paige," I said, waving.

Alice

The girl babbled on, and Alice smiled. She seemed like she'd be a nice friend. "Hi," Alice said.

Hayley smiled again, continuing her whispered monologue. "So, like, why did I end up in Choir anyway? I don't remember signing up."

Alice shrugged. "You must have, because you have to try out for Chamber Choir. Obviously you're good."

Hayley shrugged. "I thought this was a blow-off course. Guess I was wrong."

"Hayley!" Mr. Drake's voice cut through the conversation. "Please no ta--"

The bell rang shrill and high. Saved by the bell, Alice thought.

She gathered her things. "Hey, Nidge. What class do you have next?"

"Next?" I took out the crumpled paper in my pocket, wondering why I haven't thrown it away yet. "I've got... band, I think. No wait, that's afterward. I got, um... biology."

"Cool, so do I!" Haley grinned, then laughed a little uneasy. "Uh, yeah..." she looked away briefly before turning her attention to Alice. "You?"

"Yup."

Paige looked at the three of us in disbelief. "This is weird," she took out her schedule and glanced at it. "I've got bio, too."

As the four of us walked out of the room, all of us a little stunned at the coincidence and me trailing along in the back, we talked. It was sort of odd being the only guy in our little group. I got some strange looks from a few other students. Then, something came to me just as we rounded a corner.

"Hey, anyone know when the dance is? ...or Prom, whatever you feel like calling it." I looked at each girl, waiting for one of them to answer.

"Prom is in May, but Homecoming is on October 28th," Alice said quietly.

I grinned and nodded.

"I can't wait for Homecoming this year! I'm on the decorating commitee now too, and I have awesome ideas."

Nidge turned and smiled at me. I felt myself melt. He was too cute!

"So um, why'd you ask? Got someone special in mind that you want to go to the dance with?" I teased.

I shrugged and then said, "Hmm... haven't thought about it really. I just got here anyway, I'm the newb."

Paige seemed a little disappointed at my answer, but she smiled quickly and it looked like no one else noticed. I grinned, chuckling a little as we stepped into the classroom. The chairs were arranged in pairs. I took a seat and looked at the three girls glance at each other.

"So who's sittin' with who?" I asked nonchalantly, trying hard not to break out in laughter at the looks on their faces. Was it so hard for one of them to just sit down? "Are you three seriously just going to stand there in a little bunch for the remainder of the class?"
