Haha I think this is kind of humourous. Northern Ireland has banned the phrase "brain storming." I guess because it insults people with brain injuries. I mean, I can see why it is banned, it is just something strange to worry about in the midst of all the other rubbish going on. Haha, so now instead you must say: "Thought Showers."

Apparently I have offended somebody. I'm sorry.

As for about the Brainstormng thing, what is so bad about that? I mean its not a curse or anything is it?

It's illegal?

So how are they going to punish people who call it brain storming?

At school we're not allowed to call it brain storming, we have to call them spider diagrams.
Matt.
People in ireland (stereotype sorry) drink a lot...
what brains are there :P
I'm sorry but it's nealy 1 Am.. shut up world and let me preach : passes out:
That is very steriotypical and not true. I am of age, and I do not drink, nor do I plan to. Americans are steriotypically gluttonous, vain drug users, but I'm not calling any of them that, because I never generalize, and for the most part that isn't true either. Just be careful what you say about a person's home, cos I'm sure you would be insulted had I said something like that about where you live.

Alright guys, let's get back on the topic of Brain Storming. Don't want any arguments here. We all stereotype sometimes, and we all know it's wrong. Moving on.

That's okay. I was just insulted, because to me it feels like the only representations of Ireland that American's have are Collin Farrel (I hate that stupid ****) Guinness and Bailey's. There is much more to Ireland. I wont hold it against ya though. Thanks for the apology. :)

Supposedly it's insulting to people with brain injuries. Dunno why, it's not like it rains in their head or anything. But it was taking someone's feelings into consideration, so stupid as it is, I guess it's a good thing. I still laugh at it though.

That's kind of like the whole "putting to sleep/putting to death" thing. Many years ago I remember they said on the news that children were afraid to be "put to sleep" (literally) because that's what they called the euthanization of animals. The children would see their pet "put to sleep" (euthanized) and would make the connection. So the term was officially changed to "put to death."

I completely understand that. Poor kids, I've never heard about that. Hm.

I think this is possibly one of the more rediculous laws I've ever heard. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? It's just a word, for goodness' sake.
Please, sit down before you fall down.
