Recommend your favorite book

A Ring of Endless Light- Madeline L'Engle This isn't the first time I've recommended this book to someone, and it won't be the last. It has things that I usually can't stand in books, like a girl with boy troubles, and a bit of angsting over those troubles, but I seriously can't get enough of it. Best book in the world.

The Dark Tower series- Stephen King Stephen King's fantasy series. I fell in love with it a few years ago. It lead to me buying as many of his books as I could, simply because this series ties together most everything that he's ever wrote. It's truly an epic tale, written by what you could call an ordinary man's author, and that is why I love it.

Following Conrad Rice's theme, I would recommend A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L"Engle. It's incredibly deep and eye-opening.

And the book I'm rereading for the hundredth time--Watership Down by Richard Adams. The way Adams takes something considered childish and uninteresting (rabbits) and transforms it into an enthralling reality is amazing. Plus, this book has some of the best, most entertaining characters I've ever read.

Oh my goodness, I loved that book. Been so long since I last read it though. Need to pick it up again.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss... great fantasy, and it's a long one.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card... Great look at conflict

Auralia's Colors- original writing, great description.

Dragon's Fire by Anne & Todd McCaffery... nice poetry, exciting story.

More for the thriller seekers - Dan Brown books, my particular favourite being Angels and Demons. I stayed up to about 3 a.m. reading his books. Couldn't put it down.

Twilight series? I'd say that's subject to taste. Some people love it. And some people hate it. If young romance is your taste, it's probably a great book.

I second the dan brown recommendation: Deception Point was my favorite book by him other than the da vinca code.

The best book ever HAS to be Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. It's a timeless story of love, war, desperation, survival, and broken hearts. It's so beautiful! And helLO, it's got Rhett Butler in it!!! *major swoonage*

Anything by Jane Austen, 'specially Pride and Prejudice. *le sigh*

A recent book I enjoyed was Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber. Very sweet.

Francine Rivers is a fabulous author, especially her Mark of the Lion series. It is Christian fiction, but it's got great plot elements and wording. I really, really liked it!

And, for the deeper of mind, Dostoyevsky. He's the best writer that ever lived. He's marvelously brilliant, and The Brothers Karamazov is just...wow...

Yeah, I like romance and classics.

I just read this. The Cocktail Party by T. S. Eliot. It's actually a play, and it's quite brilliant. It's insightful and entertaining, very funny.

The Sevenwaters Trilogy, Juliet Marillier AND The Thief, the Queen of Attolia, the King of Attolia, Megan Whalen Turner. These are the best books ever. As well as, of course, the Lord of the Rings. That goes without saying.

Ditto Gone with the Wind, and Pride and Prejudice.

Well, for me, it would be the Holy Bible. It has demons and angels, it talks about dragons, it has war, kings, miracles, prophecies, gods, you name it. And it is entirely true. Not to force Christianity, but it is a good read, even if you are a Hindu. And it is also what little kids used to learn how to read in the old days.

Hmm... aside from that, the Artemis Fowel series (didn't think that anyone read those anymore) and The Extraordinary Adventures Of Alfred Krupp. Oh, and The Lord Of The Rings! And The Chronicals Of Narnia! great series!

Try these classics: The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann D. Wyss, White Fang, Call of the Wild and The Sea Wolf by Jack London. Or for something newer check out the series Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony
