I would HATE to live in Australia. All those spiders, all those poisonous spiders... Argh, can't think about it... Oh and the snakes and scorpions and so on...

-shudders-

*grins*
*starts singing*

Redback, funnelweb, blue-ringed octopus!
Taipan, Tiger snake, and a box jelly fish!
Stonefish, and that poison thing that lives in the shell,
that spikes you when you pick it up!

COME TO AUSTRALIA!

YOU MIGHT ACCIDENTLY GET KILLED!!!

Your life's constantly under threat.
Have you been bitten yet?
You've only got three minutes left,
til a masive coronary breakdown.

COME TO AUSTRALIA!

YOU MIGHT ACCIDENTLY GET KILLED!!!

Redback, funnelweb, blue-ringed octopus!
Taipan, Tiger snake, and a box jelly fish!
Big shark, just wainting for you to go swimming,
at Bondi Beach!

COME TO AUSTRALIA!

YOU MIGHT ACCIDENTLY GET KILLED!!!

You're usually OK if you live in a city or town, snakes try to stay clear of humans. We used to get them around my house, but then lots more ouses got built around us, and we don't see them anymore.

Spiders? Well ... there's redbacks ... but I don't think they actually KILL you. And huntsmans are huge and look scarey, but they're not poisonous. You want to watch out for funnelwebs and whitetips though.

The only scopions I've seen were either not all that poisionous, or dead in a jar.

Blue-ringed octopuses now ... they're something to be scared of! They're small, and if they get blue rings on them, leave them alone because it's NOT happy. If it bites you, it paralyses you. Including your lungs, and that's how you die. I've heard a story about this guy who was out in a boat with some of his mates when he picked up a blue-ringed occy. He thought he could hold it without it getting him, but it bit him. He very calmly told his friends that in a few minutes, he would collapse and seem to be dead. He told them that whatever happened, they had to keep giving him mouth to mouth or he would suffocate and die. Them he collapsed. His mates got the boat back, and gave him mouth to mouth all the way, so he lived. He told them later, that he could heard and see everything while he was paralysed, and he praying the whole time he wouldn't hear one of them say "Nah, he's a goner. No point in continuing the mouth to mouth."
Might be true.

Australia is a pretty cool place. I mean, come on, the words 10 most poisons snakes are all australian, the Funnel-web spider, box jellyfish, blue rings octopus, paralysis tick and the stonefish are the deadliest of their type in the world also. Anything could kill you in australia, currents, sharks, caterpillers, bugs of all shapes and sizes, shell-fish even. Who would NOT want to go there? I'd love to go to Australia! The only thing i would not be looking forward to was the Jet-Lag, other than that i'd love it.

Spiders and snakes dont bother me, slugs do however, any deadly slugs in Australia?

Not that I know of ... there are slugs, I just don't think they can kill you.
It's not as bad as it seems. You don't get ALL the creatures EVERYWHERE. Like where I live, the most deadly snake is the brown snake (well, ti can kill you but I think there are others that kill you faster) and you don't see box jelly fish, and if you get funnelwebs, I haven't eve run into one.
But still, there's deffinately a lot of stuff that doesn't care if you're dead here.

I've always wanted to live there...even with the horrible bugs. Scotland has no evil bugs. Just bugs.
"Sometimes we see a cloud that's dragonish,
A vapour sometimes like a bear or lion,
A towered citadel, a pendant rock,
A forked mountain, or blue promontory,
With trees upon't that nod unto the world,And mock our eyes with air.."

I want to go to Australia. But what exactly is a Midge? And does anyone know what a chigger is?

A midge is a small biting, blood sucking fly like thing common on the west coast of scotland. When they bite you it hurts and itches afterwards. If you want more info go http://www.scotweb.co.uk/environment/mi ... midge.html

I have no idea what a chigger is
