I won a contest through my school; it's the first monetary reward for my writing.

It was a short story contest, I submitted a comedy story and won 2nd place ($500). BOOYAH!

It was titled "Terminal KTB", and it's about a man who gets hit by a bus, only to find himself in an interethereal airport of the great beyond. There he meets Death, who has been reduced to checking a clipboard and reading off a little card to new arrivals. And so on.

I'm pretty pumped about it

Congratulations! That is so awesome! Haha, my school could never afford to give $500 away in a contest. They spend money on useless things.

Congratulations! Your story sounds really cute. Is it on YWS?

Yay, congrats! :D

Your story reminds me a little of that David Niven film "A Matter of Life and Death". ^_^

The day, which was one of the first of spring, cheered even me by the loveliness of its sunshine and the balminess of the air. I felt emotions of gentleness and pleasure, that had long appeared dead, revive within me. Half surprised by the novelty of these sensations, I allowed myself to be borne away by them, and forgetting my solitude and deformity, dared to be happy.
