Try writing while half-asleep

I've tried it, and sometimes it really works. Most of the time it doesn't, and you'll read the thing the next morning and be like, "What the hell was I on??" I did write a really angry poem once, when I was nearly asleep. It was actually pretty good, and I'm pretty terrible at writing poetry.

But I had a dream last night that my male MC and myself met in a restaurant. And it was like that movie, Stranger Than Fiction. It was really odd, but needless to say, I fell in love with him all over again. Which made me realize why all my female characters (except his younger sister) all have crushes on him. Even if he is a horny dork.

Anyways, every writer is different. We all have different habits, different styles and different tastes. I guess it all depends on you.
