Small American Towns

Okay, I'm writing a book and I want to set it in a small town, preferably with a large-ish city nearby, but not totally necessary. I would like it to be a place that has snow in the winter. It also needs to have a high school in it. I did a google search for small towns, but I got a million results of myspace pages, etc. I was going to set it in my town, but then I decided not to. They say to write what you know, but for me, it just feels weird to imagine things going on in the streets I walk down each day. I get my reality and my imaginated stuff mixed up. Any suggestions? If you could give me the name of a town, what state it's in, and what the name of the high school is, I would be eternally grateful.

Well, I'm not giving you my hometown, but my cousin lives in Edgerton, Wisconsin. It snows like crazy in the winter and it's near the capital. It's also near a big-ish town called Janesville. So, yeah; good luck on your story.
