Wheel Of Dawn

The clouds, lined with orange,
drift by as I lie sleeping
in a field of paper flowers.
A distant cry seems to echo
from the bottom of my heart.
I wanted to reply, but somehow,
I couldn't reach your voice.

Here I stand on crossroads,
I cry as I see myself in puddles of red
of those who passed away.
Now I walk aimlessly,
strumming on a tear-stained guitar
for those that have sinned
and have regretted sooner.

Yellow petals shake quietly
and brush upon my face.
They fade with the wind,
and I watch them fly like
tiny little angels.

Faraway memories, held in my palm,
leave gentle wrinkles in my face.
and as the sun rises
I realizes it's time to let them go,
and start on a new path.

As long as I keep living,
I will wait for a peaceful sunrise.
Until that happens,
I will spin the wheel of dawn.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Very poetic and captivating. It took me a while to figure out what it was about but I think it's reflecting on the journey of life, looking backwards as well as forwards. Maybe the narrator's trying to work their way through a rough patch? The imagery you used was effective. I suggest capitalising the first letter of each line. Overall, it was a great poem as well as being very original.
