I turned away from him and started to walk away. I didn't have a clan anymore and I couldn't stay here. I wasn't going to bare his children... I doubted that they would turn me. He stayed silent for a long time, weighing up his choices, "Very well...I'll join in with your war. But I'll act alone, not as part of your group. Groups aren't my thing."
He could see Zire wondering why he'd been with the other hunters, but he wasn't going to answer that question if it came, after all, it was to make sure that Zire died for the war. But if Blair was going to join, it wouldn't be with a group. Maybe not even with Lincoln.

His breath hissed out, his eyes widening. He could understand Blair's motive, but there was so much wrong with this deal. Killing humans? Werewolves and vampires I can understand, but our own kind? Blair, what have you done?
He decided he'd wait until the vampires left, then approach Blair. After all, Blair had said he wouldn't go with them, and the boy Lincoln had trained was not the kind who'd surrendur a position like that once he'd taken it, not without significant incentive.
