OK, I've got a debate coming up, and I need help finding ideas to put into my argument against the taxing of fast foods.

At the moment, we are mainly focusing on the fact that the government is the only ones profiting from it, so I need evidence etc. But we also need some things that we can use as rebuttals against the affirmative. So please Help!!

I think this'll get the attention you want here in research, moreso than the debate forum, which is used to debate ^^

You could go with the view that people should have a right to eat anything they want.

If someone brings up the arguement that it will stop people being fat, retort with the arguement that if people want to eat unhealthily then they'll do it at home.

It's unfair to the businesses as well as to the consumer. If people are taxed to eat fast food, some will stop buying it and the businesses will decline.

Fast food venues provide many jobs and are an essential part of our community, catering for birthdays, celebrations and general social meetings.
