Dictionary.com does say it's not a word, you're right, Ratter. But that's because it says the real word is til....

Of course, it really depends on the dictionary you use. I still like 'til, just because when you shorten something, you have to put an apostraphe. For instance, if my character is one of those slang-speakers (And I do have a lot), him becomes 'im, them becomes 'em, and becomes an', and so on and so forth. Until would become 'til.
Where are we going?

I'd go for 'til.

'Til is grammatically correct because the apostrophe shows that letters were removed from the complete word, "until".

It has to be 'til! How would you get the second "l" in til out of "until"? Besides, the question isn't really 'til vs. till, it's until vs. untill. Untill isn't a word, so 'til is the obvious answer.

Actually, I think I read somewhere that "'til" by itself was a word before it was expanded into "until". Unfortunately, I can't remember where I read it. :(

Apostrophe til is cooler than til with an extra 'l'. :D

So, 'til, ftw!

C.S. Lewis used Till. C.S. Lewis did not use 'til. C.S. Lewis is awesome. Ergo, Till is awesome, and Till > 'til.

I am totally supporting 'til. It makes me feel like I know what I'm talking about. And it seems more classical and ancient.

Exactly! :D Adding an extra letter to an already unstable word could produce a serious grammatical reaction which could result in the destruction of the entire literary universe as we know it! Save the polar bears; always spell it 'til!

I use 'til all the time. Like:
'Til next time.

It just looks kinda dorky if it's:
Till next time.

'til is the most appropriate one because it's like saying 'until' faster. I don't agree with till because there is still another meaning to it.

Example of the other meaning of till:
I till the soil before I plant corns in it.

So it's better to use 'til for me because it's easier to understand.

I chose 'til, mainly because it looks cooler and I think it was the original version.

Till seems more applicable.I never understood what makes until so different from till.
