Leave Them

Leave the messages
on that recording loom.
Let your lover’s yearning words
collect dust in the neglect.
Abandon them,
and stay in your daydream place.

Leave the poor black child
in his crumbling school.
Allow snowflakes of poison
to rest on his haven of slumber.
Degrade him,
and feed your young the elite.

Leave the hawks of war
in their oval room.
Let their meek perception of time
dominate the grandness of infinity.
Obey them,
and let change die with reason.

Leave the poor drunkard
on his wooden stool.
Keep all of his bad ideas
in that toxic place called his mind.
Retard him,
and believe in your blinded book.

Leave the true genius
in his padded tomb
Plant the seed of submission
in his innovative thoughts.
Just dull him
and nourish him through the shield.

Leave the life morals
to be always cruel.
Let God and his promises
remain nothing but myth.
Decompose them
and live life in its corrupt glory.

out of all your stanzas this one really stuck with me. this is another good poem from you that i liked. it was full of emotion and something else that i cannot place, something that makes me remember it after i've finished reading it.i would love to know where you got your motivation from to create this poem. great job!

Wow! you have some really powerful message here, and you've portrayed them so well! you've addressed some of the most important topics of today's society in such a strong and emotional way, that it really hit me!
Leave the hawks of war
in their oval room.
Let their meek perception of time
dominate the grandness of infinity.
Obey them,
and let change die with reason.
this one I especially love. The Metaphor with the Hawk and the Oval room is very cleverly done, as you've used the symbols of one of the most powerful men in the world and portrayed him as an enemy. the Hawk in this is especially good as it is portrayed as a bird af prey that fights and kills, showing the worse side of it, as opposed to the proud bird and strong symbol it usually is.
Leave the poor drunkard
on his wooden stool.
Keep all of his bad ideas
in that toxic place called his mind.
Retard him,
and believe in your blinded book.
I like this one as well, the blinded book is especially well used.

All the stanza's are powerful in their own right, but you've connected them beautifully, showing how all these things are as important as the next. I love it.
It is an established fact that, despite everything society can do, girls of seven are magnetically attracted to the colour pink.

Wow. Just... Wow. Incredible. Its truly beautiful and I love it. I wish to know, what is your inspiration? What is your Motivation? I can not believe it. This piece definitely makes me think and leaves me wondering about the world. It speaks every unconscious thought and broken idea held within me. It lets me question the world in a new perspective. I absolutely adore it. :)

Wow. This stanza really hit me. At first glance, I thought it was racist. After I read it and understood I could almost perhaps cry because of the incredible philosophy and truth dissolved into this one little stanza. It just shows how messed up our world truly is.

Anyway, Good job. The piece is tied together brilliantly and very powerful. Well done. :)

I do not hesitate to write something controversial. When I write, I want to make an impact. I wish I could write something that could change history, like Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" or Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, but it is not so. I hope to make people think. I write to make change, not to make people say "oh, that was nice". I desire more than that.

The inspiration, however, was a combination of what I feel are some big issues in the world, aside from the first stanza. I figured I had to start out soft with the poem... Then crescendo into something bigger.

The stanza, sundancer, that you're talking about in particular, was inspired by my detest for elitist families who pour their wealth on their own children while many other families (which are sadly, African Americans. Just goes to show you that racism is still a bigger issue than many think) are poor, starving and are probably all around nicer people.
