You can not use "u" to shorten you, as for "b" for be or any other word. It's called the YWS for a reason and part of that is you have to know how to spell. This is not a instant messaging service. If you only have a limited amount of time, wait until you get home especailly if you're at school you probably shouldn't be on this site anyways because you'd be getting off task. But if not, wait until you have more time at the least because you'll be doing all of us a favor.

Ghosts are scary. I believe in them, to a certain extent..

Oo-er. It would be fun to haunt someone though.

I don't whether to believe in ghosts or not.

On one hand, we have lots of people saying they've seen ghosts. But if you take the time to actually delve into their story, you can either come up with a reasonable explanation, or else you can find their lying.

I really wish people didn't lie about such things. It's them who kills a lot of the credibility.

On the other hand, there have been loads of people making claims of seeing a ghost.

I'm going to tell you about one of my experiences:

I was laying in bed, reading a book. The only light source came from a light from the bathroom (which is oposite my room). I had the door slightly open.

I looked up, and what did I see? Why - it was a circle on the wall. No light source was reaching it - so it certainly wasn't coming from the bathroom light. The circle then began to move around on the wall randomly, before disapearing.

And that's not all...
Before that circle apeared, somethign else also happened a couple of times. Patches of light (also circles - but larger then the one of the wall) would randomly apear, lighting up that single, isolated area. They generally disapeared shorlty after I noticed them.

Ghosts right?

Wrong, I'm afraid ;).
It was extremely late at night - so I was very tired. In this state it's very very easy to hallucinate. And the fact that I was straining my eyes by reading in the dark was probably also a big factor.

Like I said. Everyone and their pet donkey has at least one ghost story. But quite often, there is a rational explanation if you just look hard enough.
I wrote the above just for you.

Err...Fontroy...I think he's perfectly allowed to answer the question.

The topic name itself is "Do you believe in ghosts?" and Sureal was just answering the questions.

I don't believe in ghosts. I think partly like Sureal, except there's another factor. When peopl experience these hallucinations or whatever the explanation could be, they are often predisposed to think it could be a ghost. They're not approaching the given situation with a free mind, and will instantly assume it's a ghost.

Yeup. Peple often jump to conclusion (a very good example of this would alien abductions. Studies have show that a large majority of these abduction were actually just cases of Sleep Paralysis).

Oi-Vay....

Fontroy, again and again other people and myself request that you use semi-proper grammar and spelling. It is really not that hard and you are perfectly capable of it. Your posts simply annoy me and possibly others. Let's see if I can decipher your post:

Oh. Well I believe in them. My reason is simple. In order to understand this, you would need to know where I live, but I'll try to explain it. I was walking down past the only building with pillars in Oban and saw a guy dressed like a Victorian. I thought it was someone called Calum (ask greg) and then I hid for a few seconds, turned around and he was gone...

You are one of the most annoying people I have encountered on here. Be strong in opinions, whatever, but this is a forum for writers. It involves not only correct grammar, but listening to others suggestions and I suggest that you listen to me and others when I say to use correct grammar...

To stay on topic, I believe in the supernatural, but not neccessarily your Casper, evil ghost people.

You shout 'cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
And these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around."

Here Here! :) Fontroy, I find myself not even bothering to read your replies because I can't understand them. I doubt you want that so please try to type correctly. Many others have addressed this and you don't seem to understand. If you're not going to put any effort into this site or your replies, I would say you're wasting your time and others along with space on the board and shouldn't even bother posting anymore. I'm sorry, really, I am.

Everyone is correct, Fontroy, if you are going to use this forum, please use correct English.

However, this isn't the time to discuss it, so it'd be better if we moved back onto topic.

I agree, don't give Fontroy a hard time here, thats what the chatroom is for. (j/k)

Well, as far as ghosts, I don't really think there are "ghosts", but just spirits of someone. I can't find really much explanation for that, though. The only question I have is that, if there were spirits, wouldn't everyone's spirit be floating around and bothering people, like ghosts are referred to in movies and the media? Why is there only a few spirits/ghosts floating around appearing places? Why doesn't every single person's spirit (who died) appear anywhere?

As far as the hallucination part, I too believe that a majority of the people who see ghosts are hallucinating. I mean, just look back at someone who seemed to have spotted a ghost. Did they actually look sane to you? And, when you think about it, most ghost sightings were done in the early 60's to the late 80's. There isn't much media about ghost sighting anymore, except that show on Sci-fi (which isn't even real in the first place). There are rarely any horror movies, or any movies even, now that talk about ghosts. Now its mostly about vampires and monsters, etc.

Also, I think that pretty much all of the ghost sightings were made in order to get the media on your case, and appear on TV for your mom (look Mama, I'm on the teee-veee!). Either that or to get money by selling "footage" of your so-called ghost. Even about a year ago, there was this auction on E-bay called the possessed can (http://possessedcan.com) about a mysterious coke can that opened by itself. Not only that, but outwards *gasp*. Any attempts like this are clearly done to make money and/or appear on TV.

Well, aliens I do believe. I mean, the universe is just so damn big for there only to be one planet with living specii on it. Maybe (and I just thought this up) the ghosts we see were just an image planted by aliens in our brains so we could go crazy over 'em! *Gasp*. (I'm kidding, by the way). Hmm, but you never know, it might be true. I think aliens are real, whereas a majority of the alien *sightings* are very, very false. Did you notice that all alien were witnessed when you were *alone* and there was no one else around you to say that they saw what you saw? Its crazy really, what people would do to get a small, 1/8 inch tall name in a newspaper, or a 10 second story on the Fox News.

For now, all we can do is think...are we alone? *Twilight Zone theme song plays*
Gotta a find a woman be good to me,
Who won't hide my liquor, try to serve me tea.

When all think alike, no one is thinking very much.
