A note- Hi, this is my first submission! It's for JabberHut's writing contest Autumn. 100 words about Autumn (no more, no less!). I went for OTT, so tell me what you think please? :-) Please tell me if you think this sounds like Autumn at all!

Autumn
Golden leaves sing into sunset; rustic songs from night pass beyond horizons. A new air trails by through moon’s wake, its silvery coat waxing beneath grey clouds. Azure soups churn as ice across sacred sunbeams, now waning towards winter. I see first light streaking; fiery cocktails of gold, yellow and red rustle within wind, occasional thickets or burnt lumber. Then, dominating every spectacle lay magnificent lakes. Water dribbles like sequent spots, each drop bouncing against the rim, casting rainbows below mighty stars – suns, earths alike – lest it dies, sleeping afar—while chilly tides, hours claims us, lingering this finite eternity.

Now that was short wasn't it? :-P

It kind of sounds like autumn. I'd make it more clear at the end, just to wrap things up.

Since you can't add or take away words, I won't give you a real critique. However, part of the rules was no repeating words. :)

Those are my two favorite sentences. And I think it captures autumn in a non-cliche, occasionally abstract way. Which I love. Nice work.

Y'know, sometimes a family is a mutant superhuman clown with cartoony powers, a hyperactive shapeshifter created in a lab, the ghost of an artificially created being who only exists for exposition, a cat who is an eldritch god for some reason, and an emo guy who doesn't canonically exist
