Hello?

Hello everyone! While most people think it is cool to talk about themselves, and... I don't know, do what we all should do best. (AKA: talk about ourselves) I am the opposite. So yeah... But, I think I'm going to try.
Anyway...

For starters, my name is Daniel. I was born way back on the 20th of August, in 1991, and since then, I have been writing. (My mom once told me that I was literally born with a pen in my hand. The funny thing is, I used to believe her.) So, that being said, you would probably think I would have wanted to be a writer. (As, you know, a job.) But no. Actually, when I was younger I wanted to be a dog. You know, one of those brown bloodhounds or the coonhound from Where the Red Fern Grows.

Sadly those dreams were crushed around the time I entered third or fourth grade. (Stupid health class...) And since then I have decided to look at more... legible jobs. Like teaching an English or a Science class, for example. Now you may be thinking why science? After all most of you readers probably want to be full time writers, or have something to do in the English field of work. (Okay, maybe only some...)

Well, since my brother and sister were into the science fiction side of things, like Star Wars, I obviously had to be just like them, and so, science as become a passion of mine, and my stories reflect that. The EagleFire Squadron is the only current story that I am working on. It is set in the future and is almost exactly like Star Wars, except way cooler. (I told you I have no imagination!)

If any of you, the reader, like that kind of subject, science fiction, I would ask that you read it and help me out by commenting and leaving hate messages about how much I messed the dogfight scenes up. Hahah, just kidding please don't do that. (Constructive criticism please. =P )

Anyway. I think that I have said enough about myself, and I hope you have learned a lot about me. Err... Maybe you didn't. If so, that's okay, I'm fine with it.

Hey Daniel my brother was born in 91 too. He's already moved out too...

You wanted to be a dog? Awesome! It took you that long to realize you weren't going to be a dog?

Hey I'm good at science and I preferable hate language. Isn't that a surprise.

I'm okay with science fiction so I'll try and look into it for you. Hope you fulfill your new goals even if they are still to be a dog.

I loved your entrée. It just made me laugh (which is really something as I usually don't laugh when I'm by myself)! Especially that dog part. I learnt pretty much about you, but of course, there's still so much more. I think?

Hello, Daniel. You did a perfectly fine job introducing yourself. I'm not that great either.

Anyway, welecome to YWS! You'll love it here, even if it is a little overwhelming at first. Remember, you have to critique two pieces before you post something.

Don't feel unusual for likeing science. THat's why writers bother to take those classes in college: They either like them, or they help inspire a nwe short story or novel. I like science too, it's my favorite subject. Surprisingly, I hate english class with every fiber of my soul. THe only things we write are *ugh!* essays.

Anyway, keep an eye out for people with colorful names. Blue means greeter, purple is instructer, and everything else are basically people who enforce rules. Keep an eye out for a guy named Nate. He's the big boss here.

I reccomend going to the resources tab at the top and loking at some of the tips to get you started, and feel free to join a group under the community tab. Try and be rather active in the community forums, that'll get you some nice friends.

So, you like writing science fiction? That's my second favorite, next to fantasy. If you want me to critique anything or have any questions, just PM me.

I love your sense of humor. So I hope you stay around! And, yes, actually, a lot of people here do have ideas in the field of teaching, English, or literature. Although I think being a dog would be fun, too!

If you have any questions or get lost around the site, feel free to Pm me. I see Rick isn't around to explain the colors, so I'll do that, in case you are curious/confused. Green, like me, means Moderator, where as the light green is Junior Moderator. We're the same except JMs only have power over small areas, and Mods take care of the whole forum. We're the people you contact when you need something moved, deleted, locked, or when you have a problem with someone on the site. Which almost never happens, because we have amazing members. The purple people are instructors. They give amazing critiques, and you can PM them directly and ask for critiques, or go to the Will Review For Food section and ask there. The Blue people are greeters. They greet new members and help them figure out the site. (If that wasn't obvious? ) Last, but certainly not least, anyone in red is an Administrator. Nate is the Big Guy, and he controls all, but he's so nice and amazing. Just don't PM him, because he's always busy.

Oh! And the people in the Gold are called Distinguished Members. They're usually people who were once on the Mod team, but aren't anymore, and they have all contributed greatly to this site, and we love them a lot.
