Chapter I
The Jungle of Hulm
She was running, running fast.
Why did he do that? Why, why, why?
Irina was running, she was running from something that was no longer bearable. The question came again and again in her in mind chasing her.
Why did her father do that to her, they use to be so close to one another. But he had to put here in the horrible place were they use her like a slave. Making her work from sun rise to sun set in the field under the burning sun.
"Why?" She said at loud "Why?"
A squirrel coming down a tree look at her in wonder. But she couldn't care less. She wanted to scream.
I have waited long enough him. Her anger was building up. I thought that he loved me! But no! He had to leave me I this strange place. ME! Irina Til' Illan, daughter of Edwin Til'Illan, Princess of the citadelle, Left here!
Irina didn't actually care much for any titles. But still this was to much. Irina stopped; she was in the middle of her and did pay attention that she was in front of a dark forest.
I'm good at fighting not farming
Irina was an excellent sword fighter, and not many bay or girl of her age or even older could say that had beaten her in a duel. Like her father, she had a gift for fighting. Thinking Of her father made her mad all over again. Her decision was made, she was no longer waiting. She was running away.
"No one can stop me or let them try!"
Saying this, Irina started running.
In her hurry to get away she took no notice that she had enter the dark jungle of Hulm. It soon grew darker and Irina realized the mistake she had made. She had entered the jungle with no food and very little water. Plus, she had only a dagger for protection.
"I hope I won’t have to fight a tiger or an elastic bear,” she murmur to herself.
She had no idea why elastic bear were called that way. She hasn't care before, but at this moment this small detail seem really important.
At this point Irina felt very small and alone. Which in both cases was only true. Irina was 5'3”, which was small for the average hight. She had long black hair that came to the middle of her back, and her almond shape eyes were of a deep green.
As she looked around she notice how hostile the forest look. The trees were wide and tall; their trucks were almost black. The leaves were of a dark green or of a dry blood red. On the ground unfamiliar plant grew. All of them had thorn of different kind and size. No bright flower like in any other forest, all was dark.
" How lovely" she said sarcastically.
The sound of her own voice comforted her. The jungle was silent deadly silent, but Irina could feel the presence of all kind of different creature of darkness. She knew that she had to cross the forest; it was the fastest way to reach Fael, her mother country.
Besides, the farmer and his man would never thing of coming this way to look for her. They would never guess that she had dared to try and cross the jungle of Hulm.
And probably for a good reason
And probably for a good reason she thought. I can do this she tried to convince herself. But it was no use the darkness of the forest took all hope of crossing out of her. It was to late to turn back now, she had to continue.
