Well, as you use manuscript in your post, then I guess you know the rules?! You are supposed to have your contact info supplied as you turn in your manuscript. Next time, I will do better to send such stuff. I will give you the skeleton of my story, as I just thought sending my true manuscript, the actual one I used to send to the Editor would be kind of "straight from the heart" type of thing. And it wasn't me who noticed that my address was on there. I remember one of you making a sleezy comment about it. So hush up you two, you have no platform against me. I win... :?

People please, you start to sound like horomone imbalanced brats. I mean look at you, the forum is starting to look like a american high school from the movies. The "celebs" are the jocks and the cheeleaders, ranting on the randomness and teh lounge forums. And the other ones are the "geeks" that are acctually posting something. For 12232453 time, this is a WRITERS forum. Not a fliritng random forum. Stop it before you make something stupid. I mean you look like you have crushes on every one among you. Please, keep your wild sikcening fantasies to yourselves or on PM. We DONT want to know how BS wanted to be stalked while hes naked and working out.

Arvy, instead of berating as if you're so superior and all (you're not), maybe you could just let it roll and stop being so uptight. This IS the randomness forum, with the purpose of being RANDOM, which is what we are doing...thus we are following the rules--as for not posting as much in the literary section of the forum, let's just say that in ANY forum the lounge will hold more posts than the core subject of the Site. There are far more topics to talk about involving life in general than just about writing.
Got YWS? I do.

I am NOT barating Hunter. Im saying that all I read since I came back for a bit is stalking, flirting, who loves who, crushes, even Meshy and Jack told me they are both sick of it. I mean where is your pre caution people? "Oh Crysi I love you I also love Meshy and I want you both in my place for some party." thats what I see in every sentence (btw that was only an example)

Only because it's there. The best forums I know don't have an offtopic section. Although I love the offtopic forums and such on this site, I know for a act they detract from the critiques and things on the literary section. In fact, personally, I see no point to the Randomness forum. For me it says "Post here and do nothing else!" The Lounge forum is already there for things not about writing, so the randomness seems to just be an invitation to mess around and not help the site porgress at all.

But, hey, whatever! I'm not trying to ruin the fun. But we should all agree that more posting needs to be done in the literary sections...but it would be hypocritical of me to blame other people and not myself. Lok at my post count! Hardly any of that goes towards other people's work, something which many of us are probably guilty of.

The flirting thing is going a bit far though...I know its all a bit of fun, but some of us are moderators and we don't exactly set off a good example to the rest of the site...instead of attempting to show other members what should be done, we seem to just spen most of our time on here (notice the use of we rather than you)...so yeh. I'm not blaming anyone, but generally I think something has to be done. I'll think on it some more.

But then again, this is a thread about flirting, so ignore me on this part. Eh...actually just ignore me totally. I need more time to think about what can be done to attract people back to the literary forums. The davvies helped that for a while...

But why are you so concerned about it if your not going to be here to deal with it?

Don't worry about it Arvy, it's the Randomness thread.

If stuff like this was happening in like, the Narrative Poetry forum, yeah, i'd be behind you 100%, but c'mon it is in the "Flirt much?" topic.

*smiles* How much I want to agree with you all, but how can you make these statements, and post such topics as 'Hot Girls' or 'Hot Guys' and expect a point? Arvy, get over it. To show us some of your words, go to the Literacy Forums yourself and post. Like I have said, I do not have the time to post about liberal arts, nor do the people I post for really even care.

With the expansion of the site, it grows exponentially as more members apply. Just say 15% of the members that do join really join for the Writer's part of 'Young Writers Society'. That's 15 people out of 100. Say 7 out of 15 are religious in their posting, and save about 15-30 minutes a day for YWS. The other 8 come on between every other day to once a week. To cut it short, we have enough all ready... Well, just enough.

If Mesh, Arvy, Fire, and anybody else complain about the lack of editors and writers... Why don't they become what they call for and do us a favor and show an example. I see all these moderators not posting in the Writer's portion of the boards, so I assume there is no problem. To choose an individual to become a moderator or admin. one must consider the value of their posting, not just their religous posting and calm behavior. As such, you should look for the positive contributions that that member is and will be capable of. By choosing the right individuals, they can and will set an example for the rest of the boards. There are boards out there that are sucessfully computing with a balanced board of theme and off topic; you say we have a problem. Look at these boards and see what we are doing wrong, maybe get a couple hints here and there. Nor do I see moderators playing a full 100% role in the Random Boards at other sites.

So, what I'm saying... Moderators and higher individuals (VIP?) should set an example that this 'is' a writer's board. How many of the VIPs go to the writing part of the boards? I'm guessing not many, since there has been a complaint about the scarce number of posts in those boards. I think the VIP members is just a promotion to make you feel better about yourself at the boards, and is really quite irrelvant to the site. I myself did not wish to be a VIP member (or that I think I was asked to be one), and will fully accept a banning from this usergroup. These members should show not only the time they spent on the boards, and the outstanding behaviors they contribute, but also the broad range in which they contribute to all aspects of the boards. Something I do not have...

The system has a tool, but lacks the hand to grasp it. When there are problems, there are always better and smoother alternatives then to just violantly stop/destroy it. So I'm saying, there is a better way to treat this lack of writers and editors then to delete the Off-Topic Boards. Rest assured, I have given ideas of mine to solutionize (not a word) the problem, or at least help it. To the site! :|
