Jayleen

Jayleen rolled her eyes, gave James an awkward hug (they had broken up yet again five days ago), and left to find the rest of her friends. Upson arrival at her locker, she dumped her bag, grabbed her book and headed back outside, where her best friend Taylah was waiting.

"Hey Jayleen," Taylah said, smiling. "How was your weekend?"

Jayleen shrugged. "Normal. Yours?"

"Fine. What do we have first?"

Jayleen looked at her diary.

"English."

Taylah nodded and the two walked back upstairs.

Rebekah

Rebekah and Jessica slowly staggered out of the car.

"C'mon guys! Just one lap!" James begged them, still jogging in place.

"I think we're gonna pass," Jessica said.

Rebekah and Jessica slowly walked up the steps. As they did their locker coms and were taling about the usual first period Spanish, Rebekah slowly turned to see Jesse striding down the hall, acting as slick as ever. She grinned and rolled her eyes a bit. Same old Jesse. He looked so cute in this light though! She quickly pulled herself out of her thoughts so that Jessica wouldn't notice and went back to arranging the books in her locker.

[James Underwood]

There was still about 10 minutes before classes started, give or take a little. Just like always, it was gym, math, then science, and so on. James scowled at the ground, an unusual thing to do, even for him.

He took long strides towards the track field. His hands stuffed in his pockets, arms rubbing angrilly against his sides where Jayleen's arms had been. A few of the other guys and couple girls were already at the track, doing streches and warm-ups.

"Hey James!" his friend Chris shouted.

"Oh, um, hey." James threw his hands out of his pockets and pushed the picture of Jayleen out of his mind as he jogged over to the others.

Chris pointed over to one of the girls, he didn't recognize her, she was probably new. "This Macy, she's new to the track team and doesn't believe me about how fast you run. Come on, run a lap!"

James looked down at the girl. She had long legs like the rest of them did, her skin was a little darker than his. James even thought that she looked... pretty. He shook his head furiously and and walked over to the track, trying to get his mind on something else. He took lane number four and waited for Macy to take the lane next to him.

"Let's what you can do," said James with a sly smile.

Macy returned the smile and took her stance.

"Ready! Set... GO!"

Chris' voice sent the two of the rocketing out of the starting line. James was leaving a four meter gap between he and Macy. He was leaving her in the dust as he jogged to the finish.

"Gotta do better than that," he yelled out, his cheerful smile starting to replace the scowl.

Macy's mouth hung agape. "I guess..." she took in another deep breath. "I guess Chris was right about you."

The first bell rang and Couch Savage walked out onto the field. "Okay!" he shouted, and then blew his whistle. "Start your stretches! We don't want any pulled musles now!"

James stared at the ground the rest of the time. Trying not to think about Jayleen, or look over to Macy.

Wow sorry guys here is Portia:

Name: Portia
Age: 11
Appearance: long black hair, usually curly because she doesn't bother to do anything with it, blue eyes, tan skin, not too tall not all that short, strong facial features and a slender build.
Personality: Tomboy, plays soccer habitually and can often be seen with something technological in her hand. She loves technology and is really good with it. Her most prized possesion is her laptop which is state of the art. She is very smart but kind of unsocial. It's not that people don't like her its that she doesn't like people. And there is one boy in her grade that just won't leave her alone..(What grade would you be in at 11? 6th?)

----------------------------------------------------------

Portia-

Portia walked to school that morning. She had figured out the perfect time to wake up on school days. Not too early and not too late. She got up just around the time when nobody else was around. She was carrying her english teacher's curcuit board in a plastic bag, she had fixed it last night for him. Her itouch was strapped to her arm as she furthered her examination of the curcuit board, just to be sure. Everything looked fine. She could feel her cell phone buzzing in her pocket but she ignored it, knowing it was her mother being annoying and wanting to know where she was. It was cruel not to answer but she didn't feel like going through the touble of taking her itouch out of the arm band and pausing it and answering the phone while juggling the curcuit board and ithouch and phone all at the same time.

She got to school on time as usual and walked into her english class.
All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and I promise you something great will come of it.

Am I late? And I'll be posting little posts at a time, don't mind

Jessica Groves

As Rebekah was staring at her brother Jesse, Jessica let out a soft sigh and arranged her books in her locker. They already were arranged, but she liked rearranging them every morning. Rebekah was now fumbling with her own books.

Doesn't want me to notice the blush on her face. Fine, I'll let this pass.

'Hey Rebekah, Spanish exam's tomorrow, right? I'm sitting right in front in class the; sure to pick up hints.'

She marched off to occupy the coveted front seat.

Yes...it was hers. Jessica flipped open her notebook, put today's date in blue added some stars at random places on the paper and stared at the even black lines between which she would soon be writing Spanish class notes. Rebekah was still not in class, why should she be? the bell will ring at least two whole minutes later. the class was almost empty; only a boy with black hair that stuck out like a porcupine's thorns occupied the seat behind her. He had his eyes closed and was deep in thought.

Another school day. Hmm...Jessica Groves looked forward to it.

Jayleen

James wasn't in Jayleen's first class, but they met up again in second period in which they both had music.

"How was English?" James asked as they sat down at the table furtest away from the door. A few other people were already in class, but the majority weren't in their class yet.

"Boring, as always," Jayleen sighed. "I wish we didn't have to do English for VCE. What did you have?"

"Methods."

Jayleen nodded, sighing. She had planned to drop out of schol at 16, but her parents had found out and stopped her.

"You working tonight?" James asked as te class, now all arrived, waite for their teacher to turn up.

"Yeah, you going to come in or something?"

James shrugged. "Might."

The teacher walked in and began the lesson.

Rebekah

As always, the bell had just rung when Rebekah stepped in, scooting next to Jessica. Half of the time they spent taking notes the other half they passed them. Finally that was over and Rebekah and Jessica split up; Rebekah to Math and Jessica to History.

[James Underwood]

He scooted to the edge of his seat, away from Jayleen. His eyes locked on the board in the front of the room. Not looking at anything in particular, just trying to get his mind on other things.

"What's with you?" asked Jayleen in a whisper.

James shook his head, his eyes still not wavering from the board. An awkward silence filled the space between them. He usually was an optimist, but for some odd reason anger was starting to boil.

Jayleen raised an eyebrow. "What? Me? What's your problem today?"

"It's nothing." he changed his stare from the board to the table. "I-I just..." James shook his head again. "It's nothing, Jayleen,"

Rebekah

Rebekah slid into a seat behind Jesse. She payed no attention to the work on the board, but instead just watched him play around with his pencil. She copied down the assignment without even realizing what they were studying. As she walked out of class behind him, walking rather blindly, she nearly passed her own locker; it was Jessica's voice that pulled her out of a fog.

"Rebekah! REBEKAH! Rebekah Rose Wallinga, where are you going? Your locker is right here!" Jessica shouted at her friend over the swarm of noisy students.

"Wha--? Oh, sorry, just day-dreaming a little," she said nervously, hoping no one would notice her Jesse space-out.

"What's up with you? Lately you've been staring at Jesse a lot and now you almost followed him to his locker and into Geography! Earth to Rebekah! We have Science now, not Geography!" Jessica said, getting impatient.

Jayleen

James didn't say anything to Jayleen as he hurried out of class without her. Something must have happened to him in first period, because he was acting fine this morning, Jayleen thought as she wondered to her locker, where she grabbed her book for the the next two perids and her recess.

A group of her friends were standing in the cnteen line, so Jyaleen joined them while munching on her apple.

"Exams are soon," Leanne said sadly. Everybody else in te group nodded with the same sense of failure.

"Have you been studying?" Veronica asked Kayleen.

"A bit," she said. "Not in science, remind me why I picked that for a VCE subject. I can't do science."

Veronica laughed and elbowed Jayleen lightly.

"Get off it, you're great at science."

Jayleen rolled her eyes and pushed Veronica back.

"No I'm not. Hey, who's in James' first class? He was acting really weird in music."

*what's VCE?*

[James Underwood]

"Yeah, um, see ya..." mumbled James quietly as he rushed out the door.

One of his friends, Chris, joined up with him in the hallway. Soon after, Ray caught up with the group, too, and then Russell. And even Jesse, despite the fact that he was at least three years younger than the rest of them.

James didn't notice the people around him, taking whatever tray was first and finding the usual table. He spotted Jayleen sitting a couple tables away, but he also saw the new girl Macy walking towards him.

"Hi James," she said, a sort of nervous tone to her voice. "I don't know where to sit... So, uh... Can I sit with you guys?"

James sunk down into the seat, looking back over to Jayleen, who was looking at him, and then back to Macy. He looked away and started nibbling on french fry.

"Oh, it's okay, I'll go-"

"No, no!" said Chris, almost in a shout. "It's fine! James here just isn't feeling himself today. Here, sit down," he motioned towards the seat infront of him.

James watched Macy take her seat, noticing she was the only girl in that table. He looked back over to Jayleen and sunk lower into seat. "How do you like the school so far, Macy?" he asked, trying to sound cheerful.

Rebekah

She saw James and his group sitting at a table during lunch as she headed out of the line with her tray. Then she noticed Jesse sitting with them.

"Hey Jessica, Amanda! C'mon let's go sit with James!"

The others agreed and they made their way through the crowd to the table.

"Hey James! Mind if we sit here?" Jessica asked.

James straightened up a little in his chair. "Uh, yeah sure," he said.

Rebekah sat next to this girl that she didn't really know. She must be new, she thought.

"Hi, I'm Rebekah Wallinga. You must be new here. What's your name?" she asked the girl, holding out her hand.

"I'm Macy," the girl said, taking her hand rather shyly.

Jessica Groves

"So Macy, how do you like it here?"

Macy smiled a small smile. She glanced at James and said "Quite nice, I like it here already."

For the next few minutes, Jessica silently munched her apple, occasionally nodding her head to agree to what Rebekah was saying.

James looked a little disturbed, all the more reasons for Rebekah to often stare at him. Jessica sighed but said nothing. She had other things to think about. The Spanish test tomorrow and the new boy in Spanish class.

[James Underwood]

Okay, you can't be like this! his thoughts shouted at him. Stop being moppy! Get over it! Talk! Do something! Stop slouching! People are noticing it! James nodded in approval and sat a little straighter.

"So," he finally said, making everyone turn. "What have you two girls been up to today?" Jessica and Rebekah looked a little suprised at his mood change.

"Nothin' much, the usual." Jessica went back to eating her apple.

"Same old, same old." agreed Rebekah.

James tried to smile, but it his mouth wouldn't work. He did smile, but it looked sort of sad. Ray said something about football and that got the guys into a deep conversation about which team was best. Jesse was shaking his head and saying, "No, no, no. Your totally wrong. Raiders are the best."

James turned towards Macy, Jessica, and Rebekah. "Hey, anyone want a ride home today?" it took a minute for him to find his voice again.

"Flirting with girls are we?" chuckled Chris.

"What? No!" James's face flushed. He looked back down at his tray and played with the mashed potatoes, building a volcano. The cold gravy as the lava. He could start to feel his face cool down.

"James?" called Jessica.

His head shot up. "Honestly, I wasn't!" they broke out in laughter, making his face heat up again.

Jayleen

Jayleen walked home that day, instead of going in James' car like everyone else. He didn't even offer her a lift. When she got home, Jesse was shouting at the TV.

"Go Eagles!" he shouted, jumping up and down. Jayleen rolled his eyes. Sport was so stupid, and AFL was the worst.

Jessica was in the kitchen with Katherine cooking something. Portia was reading in the dining room.

"Why home so late?" Katherine asked.

"I walked," Jayleen said blandly.

Katherine looked up. "Why? Wha about James?"

Jayleen shrugged and checked he watch.

"I have to go or I'll be late for work. Bye. Save me some dinner."

"See ya later," Jessica mumbled, and Jayleen quickly got changed out of her horrid uniform and into a black t-shirt and pants, before grabbing her bag and walking out the door.
