plot: A fantasy/ adventure storybook. For centuries, the village of Ameron was protected by a magical barrier that kept the thriving evils of the world out and while the rest of the planet rotted and decayed, Ameron flourished. Over time, the barrier grew weak and now it is held by a mere thread, still preventing any from entering but it is possible to leave Ameron. Those outside lurk just beyong the power of the barrier; they have waited for this day when they can claim revenge on those who shut themselves away and refused to give help. The leader of Ameron has decided to send a group of people outside the barrier to seek out the mage Syrias amongst the rotten lands. It was he who erected the original barrier and the people of Ameron hope that he will see fit to repair it for them. The journey will be dangerous and long and time moves strangely in the rotten lands so that months can pass in days. Therefore, Ameron is sending her youngest warriors, your characters, on the mission.

Occasionally I will post saying that so many months have been skipped. Your characters will not necessarily mature mentally but their bodies and powers will become physically stronger each time until they reach the point where they are growing old, at which time, their strength and powers will diminish again. The characters hope that the mage will restore their youth once he is located.

Lucinda~

I walked to the building we were instructed to meet at before we all went off on our search. I passed little kids playing at the pond. I'd told my family good-bye before I left. They were proud of me.
I was excited to be picked as one of the young warriors to go find the mage. We needed to find him so he could fix the barrier.
Once I'd made it to the large grey building I stopped and looked up. I slowly walked towards the door. I could see Edward a few yards away. I stepped through the door to wait for the others.

LB hopped towards the main house, her family heirloom sword strapped to her back as she did so. She spun a few times, making her black hair twirl around her scalp like a Maypole. She smiled at the children and townsfolk she passed and sighed in relief as she neared the main house, taking on a more serious composture as she passed another girl.

Lacy smiled at the sun as she walked down through village. A skip in her step told anyone who would notice she was happy. She laughed as a dog ran by her, disappearing behind a house while trailing a long sausage link. Lacy sighed and fingered her staff clipped to her back with a leather strap. It was a plain, titanium rod with two wrought metal balls attached on both ends. She had it looked at by a mage and he told her there was deep magic in it. She couldn't use it, however.

Lacy passed over a wooden bridge to a large gray building. It was a cross between a residence and a castle, elaborate yet lusterless. She spotted fellow travelers who were joining her on their quest. She pivoted her neck, loosening the tensed muscles below her skull. She looked longingly back at the stream with the bridge.

I'll go fishing when I return. she told herself, But what if I don't return?

Lacy shook the thought out of her head. she would come back one day. Lacy inhaled deeply and took in what she wanted to remember, the smell of the the farm animals, market stalls, and the streams that ran through the village. Exhaling and opening her eyes Lacy put her body back into motion, towards the building.

Edward-

"EDWARD!" A female voice called.

He turned around to see it was Lucinda. He sighed. They had met a few days before. SHe had no idea that his body was not his own, and that he was really suppost to be dead.

Arabella

I had recieved a paper a few days before, in the post. It very simply stated that my presence was requested at a meeting, as arranged for by the queen.

Of course, no one denies the queen - not even a vampire.

So, sticking to the shadows, and hiding myself with my long, violet cape, I made my way down the street toward the abandoned building at which we were to meet. I assumed others were being called there as well, seeing as many people seemed to be heading toward this same building.

"Hello Edward." I said as he got closer. "How are you?"
"Fine" He simply said and we both walked into the building. There were a few other people there but evryone still wasn't there. Edward and I took a seat to wait.

Richard:

He had heard that his presence was requested, by the queen, at that. why? he had committed no crime, and he had no business, that he knew of, to be gathering among these people that he saw coming together at the appointed location, he did not know them, nor like them. In fact, he hated them. For no reson at all, just a matter of principle.

so be it he thought, if they want me to be there, ill listen to whatever they have to say. but if they are wasting my time, i will be most unpleased.

I slipped into the building, virtually unnoticed by anyone.

The queen wasn't there, but that was almost to be expected. I ventured the guess that she would be sending a messenger to fill us in.

I watched the others file in, one by one. One man caught my attention.

Using my vampire intuition, I read into his mind. Richard. That must have been his name.

Lacy followed the rest of the travelers inside. They entered a large room with a high ceiling and elaborately decorated walls; the flower pattern repeated itself all around the room. Lacy saw a long table with several seats placed around it. She walked and took a seat nearest to the door she had entered. A woman came in and sat next to her. She had long black hair and purple eyes.

Vampire. she confirmed her suspicion with her eye. She sparkled with a light violet light. She seemed uneasy for some reason. Lacy settled into her seat and watched the others enter slowly and ever so cautiously. Lacy laughed at their plain emotion on their faces, confusion. She knew, however, how to hide emotion. To most she would seem serene and calm sitting in the large chair.

Next a male and a female arrived through the doors, both with powers. The male interested her however. He didn't have an aura glow around him. It seemed like he was dead. The pair looked around the room, the male with a thoughtful gaze and the female with an expression of joy. Lacy smiled when she caught the males eyes. Her eyes darted to the seat next to her and back.

"Come have a seat!" Lacy called to them.

The male looked at the female who shrugged. They both turned back and walked towards the seats intended for them. They sat, the male closer to her than the female.

"Lacy Delanu." Lacy introduced.

The male nodded, "Edward Haimon. She's Lucinda Bolls."

The female called Lucinda peeked around Edwards chair and smiled, "Hello."

Lacy nodded with a grin spread across her face, "Any idea about why we're here?"

Edward slowly shook his head, "Nope." he emphasized the p by popping his lips.

Lacy looked up at chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, "Well, it's nice to meet you all the same."

Lucinda twirled a knife around with her fingers, "Where's this queen?"

Lacy shrugged, "I guess we'll have to busy ourselves until she arrives."

Lucinda grunted and looked around, still twirling her knife around.

Lucinda~

I looked around as we waited, still twriling my knife. The room we were directed to was beautiful. It had stain glass windows. They were pictures of warriors and princesses from the past. I turned to Edward.

"So you got requested to come too?" I asked him. He wasn't very talkative but when he did talk it was nice.

"Yes, I found it odd considering I've only been here a little while." He told me, looking around the room.

More people came in, looking uncomfortable. I smiled at everyone I made eye contact with. Each gave me a smile in return, but some were nicer that others. I smiled at a girl with long black hair and different colored eyes. She smiled back. She seemed nicer than some of others.

"Do you know why we're here?"asked Lacy.

"Nope" Edward was expressionless. I smiled. I knew why we were here but I didn't know if I should say. I looked around the room.

"Do you know anyone here?" I whispered to Edward. I knew he'd only been here a few days but I didn't recognize anybody. Well except Richard but we didn't talk very much. I sighed and continued to twirl my knife.

LB~

LB groaned and took a seat next to the girl that had smiled at her. LB's blue and green eyes flicked across the room, studying it quietly. The barrier is weakening and most of us know that. If that's all she wants us to know I'll kill someone. She thought with a snarl. Being a were-wolf she didn't have to worry about those outside of the barrier many others wouldn't kill her for what she was. "Hello?" A voice called, bringing LB back to reality.

"Huh?" LB asked, averting her eyes to the girl next to her.

"I said I'm Lucinda. What's your name?" She asked again, sticking her hand out in greeting.

"Uh...LB," LB answered, smiling lightly as shaking the girls hand slowly.

I examined this man, Richard, for a long moment.

He was a bit on the short side, with a round face. His appearance didn't say much about himself, so I prodded into his mind. It was a fairly dark experience, dark and lonely. You see, poking into a persons mind gives you a feel for what they feel on an everage basis. This man obviously felt a deep string of lonliness, which stretched on for days at a time.

After a period of time, I pulled out of his mind, not at all pleased with the depression that had seeped into me.

I noticed a woman a ways off. She glanced at me, her eyes immediatly catching my attention. They were an abnormal shade of grey, not that I was one to talk, with my purple eyes. Either way, to put it simply, her eyes seemed to say everything I needed to know about her. (Granted I could have very well been using my vampiric intuition without knowing it).

She wore her hair, brown and rather bushy, in a ponytail at the base of her neck.

Deciding to take a chance, I walked over to her. My heart pounded in my ears. It was quite unlike me to just walk over to someone like this. Floren. I made sure to know her name, just to be safe.

"Hello, I'm Arabella," I said, carefully pulling my hood off so she could see my face.

the girl, he didnt know her, but she was Vampire, was probing his mind, but what she didnt know, was that he could sense her doing it, and could answer

{Stay. Out. Of. My. Mind.} he thinks at her, confident that she will hear.

he had used a great deal of anger in the emotion conveyed by this message(for to send a message by thought, you must have the emotion to back it up) He was angry with her for invading my privacy. grrr.

he stands up,

"What do you want?" he directs, at nobody, or everyobody, "Why are we here?"

The Queen

Candles flickered gently, nestled in their holders amongst the tall, marble pillars of the throne room, casting a wavering but pleasant light across the smooth, marble walls and stone floor. The walls were hung with tapestries woven of gold, depicting battles, heroes and treasures: jeweled crowns, legendary swords, lost cities of magic and wonder. Ten men dressed in rich, dark green uniforms smothered with gold embroidery and holding sword-hilts as elaborate and fine as their outfits lined each side of the room, making twenty in all.

Upon the dais, was a throne wrought of silver, fashioned in the shape of a rearing unicorn. It looked unstable, only the back legs touching the dais, the fore-legs raised to hold the smooth, splendid chair, its back arching into the unicorn's head, horn reaching for the ceiling and in a daring, flood of creativity, two fine, broad, silver wings extended from the body.

A skillfully placed bay window, just behind both throne and dais allowed a soft glow to enter the room, high-lighting the woman upon the throne. Her black hair hung loose to her shoulders and blue-grey eyes carefully observed the room, returning often to the tall, iron door in a soft grey-blue. It opened and the courtier shuffled in with a deep bow.

"Your highness, they have arrived and are settled." There was no need to say who. The queen, though barely thirty, didn't care to have such trivial information repeated over and over again.

"Send them in," she said simply with a glance to the neat, pale grey chairs that had been placed a few metres from the dais with their soft, blue cushions and high backs.

I will post again when some of you have written about the courtier entering the room they are currently in and leading them through.
