This will be based on the Marvel and DC comic characters (Superman, Spiderman, Iron Man, The Hulk, etc).

The Plot:
Unable to bear the humiliations and defeat dealt onto them by the superheroes, three Marvel/DC Villains (Lux Luthor, The Joker, and Goblin) have banned together to bring down the heroes once and for all. Combining their power with that of the other Marvel/DC Villains, they have begun to plot their revenge.

Meanwhile, the heroes are hardly aware of what the Villains are planning, knowing only that there is a high concentration of ‘dark’ activity going on in one specific area. Not knowing what to expect or prepare for, the heroes call a top-secret meeting to decide on a course of action.

With tension rising and patience wearing deadly thin on both sides, the world is slowly beginning its decent into chaos. Whether the scale tips one way or another is in your hands.

Let the ultimate battle of Good vs. Evil begin.

The Setting:

The heroes will be gathering in New York, New York for the ‘top-secret meeting’. The Villains will be gathering in Las Vegas, Nevada. Everything after that will be decided at a later time.

Rules – Must Read!

-No God-Modding. Remember, even Superman had a few weaknesses.
-No killing other characters without permission from the user that currently controls them. No exceptions.
-You must average at least two decent sized paragraphs per post. That means that you can write one paragraph one post (though please strive for longer posts. One paragraph is painfully short)), but your next one has to be at least three paragraphs. I’d prefer you make them longer, but I understand that once the story gets going, it becomes harder to post long posts.
-No One-line Posts!!! No Exceptions! First time you will be warned, the next time you will be kicked out of the storybook.
-Maximum of two characters per person. You can play as either a hero, a villain, or a civilian. But, if you have a hero or villain, your other character must be a civilian. You can’t have a hero/hero, villain/villain, hero/villain. But you can have civilian/civilian, hero/civilian, or villain/civilian.
-Include a profile. I will provide an outline that you can fill out.
-You must PM me your profile before you post it on the main thread. I must OK your character(s) before you can begin to post.
-You can make a new hero/villain that wasn’t in the comics. But I don’t want two Supermans flying around. And, if the character you want from the comics died in the comics, that doesn’t matter. You can still use that character.

And, of course, have fun. If you have any questions, PM me and I’ll do my best to answer them. Profile Outline is as follows:

Real Name:
Aka: (Hero/Villain name, if they have one. This doesn’t count if you’re a civilian.)
Age:
Hero, Villain or Civilian:
Power(s): (Only for heroes or villains.)
Weakness(es): (Again, only for heroes or villains.)
Appearance:
Personality:
History: (Include why your character became what/who they are today.)
Other: (Love Interests or anything else we should know.)

First come first serve. I've claimed Iron Man/Tony Stark. Don't forget to PM me your profiles.

Real Name: Jack Kane

Aka: The Joker

Age: 38 (?)

Hero, Villain or Civilian: Villain

Power(s): Extremely adept at engineering, genetics, and chemistry. Uses weapons that have some kind of twisted or juxtaposed quality; such as razor-sharp playing cards, acid-spewing flowers, cyanide pies, and lethally electric joy buzzers and Joker venom, a deadly poison that infects victims with a paralytic grin as they die laughing uncontrollably. He also has extra-sensory perceptions. *

Weakness(es): He is physically frail.

Appearance: bleached white skin, red lips, and green hair.

Personality: The Joker is a sociopathic murderer who often kills the innocent for the fun of it. He is unpredictable and suffers from a kind of insanity that strips him of any one personality, allowing him to adopt any persona, depending on his need. He has sketchy memory of his past.

History: Jack Kane was a scientist hired by the Mafia to steal from the company that employs him, adopting the persona of Red Hood. After committing the theft, which Batman thwarts, Red Hood falls into a vat of chemical waste. He emerges with bleached white skin, red lips, green hair, and a permanent grin. A witness recounts that the Joker's wife was kidnapped and murdered by the criminals in order to force the engineer into performing the crime. *

Can I make my own Super Hero?

Maki, see the last rule I posted.

Here's my profile:

Real Name: Anthony "Tony" Stark

Aka: Iron Man

Age: 25

Hero, Villain or Civilian: Hero

Power(s): Tony Stark is a genius. He created the suit (Iron Man) that allows him to fly, shoot missles/other defensive weapons, travel up to 1000 feet below sea-level, withstand high heat, and is bulletproof. As an extra, the inner layers of the Iron Man armor is stored in the hollows of Tony's bones which allow him to shield up whenever he wants and call the larger pieces to him. He has a fast healing and recuperation process.

Weakness(es): Underneath the armor, Tony Stark is still human. He has a device implanted in his chest that stops pieces of shrapnel from piercing his heart and killing him. Should said device be removed and not replaced quick enough, Tony Stark/Iron Man dies. Along with that, Tony is prone to reckless decisions which often lead to trouble.

Appearance: Tony Stark stands at 6' 1", weighs, roughly, 185 lbs, and has a muscular build. He has short black hair (often in a disarray), blue eyes, and a charming smile. His clothes are normally casual unless he's going somewhere important, in which case he'll wear a tux.
The Iron Man armor is painted red and yellow and covers his whole body.

Personality: Tony is a kind-hearted but stubborn and unpredictable individual. He strives for peace and will stop at practically nothing to get it. He has a witty sense of humor and is actually quite charming with the ability to stay calm in just about any situation and make jokes about it later. He doesn’t exactly like taking orders and only will if he has to. He is gentle but firm and isn’t afraid to stick up for what he believes in. Iron Man, on the other hand, isn’t about to take crap from anyone. He fights for peace and protects the innocent.

History: Tony's father (Howard Stark) was one of the most advanced weapon-designers of his time. When Howard died, it seemed like Tony was going to follow in his father's footsteps until, on a business trip to Afghanastan, he was captured by a terrorist group and forced to recreate a weapon intended to be used on the United States. While there, Tony's fellow prisoner, Yinsin, implants the device in Tony's chest that ends up keeping pieces of shrapel from entering his heart. Pretending to follow orders and recreate the weapon, Tony, and Yinsin create the power-armor that was later remodeled into what the world now knows as Iron Man. Tony escapes but Yinsin died in the process which is what truly turned Tony onto the crime-fighting path.

Other: Tony Stark is *semi*-secretly in love with his loyal secretary and friend, Virginia "Pepper" Potts. Also, Tony's house is operated by the super-computer, Jarvis, who seems to have a personality of his own. He helps Stark with many of hs 'inventions'. Tony's main estate is localed in Malibu, California.

*All information is based from my own personal knowledge, the Marvel Website, the new Iron Man film, or Wikipedia.

Real Name: Lucas Bishop

Aka: Bishop

Age: Late 20s (?)

Hero, Villain or Civilian: Hero

Power(s): Energy Absorbtion - Bishop can absorb and is immune to most energy attacks, and can channel the energy he has stored to heal himself or blast his enemies. Cybernetic Arm - Bishop stole a nuclear powered cybernetic arm from Forge's laboratory to replace the one he lost. It has two extendable pincers, enhances his strength to super-human levels and also allows time travel.

Weapons: Laser/Plasma guns, rechargeable with his stored energy.

Weakness(es): Cannot absorb inertial impacts (i.e. Falling, being thrown into objects.); some energy types are more difficult to absorb than others (e.g. psionic and kinetic); is not immune to telepathic attacks.

Appearance: 6'6", 275 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He has an 'M' brand over his right eye.
Pic

Personality: Bishop is generally surly, with a 'shoot first, ask questions later' attitude. He is distrustful of strangers, sometimes to the point of aggression. However, he is fiercely loyal to those he does trust, and it would take a lot to take that away from him.

History: Bishop was born in an alternate future in which the Sentinel robots had killed the majority of the mutant population. As a mutant, he was branded when his powers first manifested themselves. He joined a mutant police force as a teenager, but when a group of mutant criminals escaped through a time portal, he followed them into the present. Once there, he encountered the X-Men, though not believing them to be who they claimed, he initially fought them, before eventually joining them.

Real Name: Katherine Pryde known as 'Kitty'

Aka: Most commonly known as Shadowcat but also known as Sprite and Ariel

Age: I think she's about sixteen at her final appearance

Hero, Villain or Civilian: Hero

Power(s): Kitty has the ability to pass through solid objects without being harmed. This process is called phasing. Since she is unable to breathe while "inside" an object, she can only continuously phase through solid objects as long as she can hold her breath. While phased, she is immune to most physical attacks, and has inconsistent showings of some resistance to telepathy. The density of some materials can prove deleterious to her phasing, causing her to be severely disoriented or experience pain if she tries to pass through them. The use of her abilities also interferes with any electrical systems, as she passes through by disrupting the flow of electrons from atom to atom.

Kitty can also extend her powers to phase other people and objects. Currently, she is able to phase at least a half a dozen other people with her. Besides her mutant powers, Kitty is a genius in the field of applied technology and computer science. She has been shown to be an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, having since been trained in the arts of aikido, karate, ninjutsu, and Krav Maga. She is a professional level dancer.

Kitty can walk on air by using her phasing ability and treating the air as atoms. She can climb to the top of a building as if walking up a staircase.

Weapons: A broken piece of Wolverine's bone claws.

Weakness(es): A few have been mentioned in the description above and in general, her physical body is moderately weak and continuous use of her abilities tires her.

Appearance: Brown, wavy hair, often tied back and hazel eyes - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Kitt ... _Smith.jpg

Personality: Kitty is a pleasant, often very cheerful girl who loves to sing and dance and though she has matured greatly and gone through a series of changes, most due to bad experiences, she remains true to her kind, loving nature. When Kitty gets mad, it's often brief but very intense. Afterwards, she is always quick to apologise. Kitty is both a Jew and a vegetarian.

History: Kitty became the youngest member of the X-Men at thirteen and helped them on many missions. For a time, she was also a part of S.H.I.E.L.D and Excalibur. For more, see the wikipedia link above.

Relationships: Kitty has dated many including spider-man, Colossus, Iceman, Avalanche etc. Her pet dragon Lockheed will, at least at first, be absent from this storybook.

Jack Kane (AKA: The Joker)

Las Vegas, Nevada

Darkness.

Swirling cloaks of it. Creating little ripples in the alleyway, cascading into pockmarked walls and disrupting clouds of smoke and steam. Lifeless fingers groping at faces. Caressing features, caressing empty lights – violating them, raping them in the absence of incandescence – and whispering alluring words. Words that spoke of rebirth and baptism and resurgence.

Good darkness.

Sweet. Clean. Endlessly refreshing.

Quite like a mother's womb. Like warm, comforting placental fluids, reshaping his mind, reshaping his thoughts. Collecting ideas from infinite pedantic wheat fields with a scythe. This was home. Obscurity was his living room and shadows – twisting into oblique and erotic shapes – were his siblings. His family.

A match. Ending it all.

And a cigarette.

Kane inhaled the smoke deeply and held it in, marinating in the peace of the night. He felt his body quivering slightly, pulsing with caged excitement, but he kept himself calm. He kept his feelings tranquilized. There were important things to do tonight. There were fires – like graceful Flamenco dancers – to be had. Gunshot choruses to be heard.

And laughs.

Good laughing.

He exhaled, sighing ghosts.

Still, the chaos of his insides – the quivering, the pulsing – was eating at him. Gnawing at his finger tips, persuading them to twitch, to dance, to manipulate that gun trigger inside his pocket. A kind of internal chaos that had many different faces in this darkness, swirling around him like debris in a maelstrom. They were all smiling. The face were all smiling, adorned with warped grins and crimson lips and incisors like razor-blades.

He smiled back.

Hello.

Hello Kane.

Do I know you?

Always.

There are...so many of you.

Just one.

Gotta be more of you. Would you like a smoke?

Can't stay. Gotta go. Gotta run. Gotta scream.

What do you call yourself?

Hello. Hello Kane.

Hello.

The faces dissolved into the darkness, spiraling heavenward with the smoke stumbling from the tip of his cigarette. The tip of the Marlboro flared softly and was promptly suppressed by the writhing shadows. Shoved down. Strangled. Asphyxiated by those soft and caressing fingers which were heralded by coaxing whispers.

Kane shook his head and ground the cigarette into the pavement.

Gotta go.

He stood quickly, straightening his suit jacket, running a hand through his hair, and grinning. Grinning for no reason. The ends of his mouth felt possessed by the strings of some puppeteer. At that moment, he supposed the world needed a smile. The darkness needed some bliss.

Gotta run.

He began walking. Slow, purposeful steps. The chaos was taking over. He felt it trickling into his veins, coalescing into a cocktail of blood and aggravation. He felt his fingers twitching, contracting, playing invisible piano keys, composing beautiful sonatas. Tonight, Las Vegas was his town. The strip – in all it's scintillating glory; structural facades corrupted by bulbs of light – was his domain, the slots were his, the creased decks of cards, the green felt landscapes scattered with poker chips. All his. His to manipulate.

Las Vegas would be his sandbox.

Gamblers would be his playmates.

He was going to paint the town red.

Crimson rivulets down cheeks like streams of tears, dancing with reflected flames.

Lots of blood.

He laughed softly, uncontrollably, and abandoned the comfort and solace of the darkness. In the distance, there was light and action and voices laced with alcohol, slurred with indulgence. A brave, new world where everyone wanted to be a Midas.

Gotta scream.

As he walked towards the mouth of the alleyway, a man – his tuxedo tie undone and wilting down his chest, singing drunkenly – lurched in front of him. The smell of vodka punched Kane in the face. The man grinned broadly, his face red and pulsing and swollen, his hair thinning, and offered his hand to Kane.

“I didn't know the circus was in town.” His words flowed from his mouth like vomit. Kane stopped. Bastard. Inebriated with confidence and wealth and security. Americana incarnate. And the circus. Was the circus in town? Kane felt his grin stretching across his face and he shrugged inwardly. Sure.

Tonight, the circus was in town.

The man dropped his hand and belched, stumbling forward into Kane's arms. He was heavy. Weighed down by an empty credit card and a lot of vodka. He was practically marinated in the stuff. Ready to be slapped on the grill, roasted, charred, medium well, but no pink.

Kane shivered as he pushed the man against the wall and slipped his hand into his pocket. Pink flesh, weeping blood the color of wine. For some strange reason, the conjured image was irresistibly attractive: naked muscles, coiled tightly, writhing and squirming like animated violin strings. He started humming and produced a tranquilizer gun as the man kneaded his eyes and a steady stream of nonsense slipped between his teeth.

“Just wanna sleep.”

Kane smirked and cocked the gun, snapping with a lyrical click. The chaos. Overpowering. He needed to shred something, tear something, destroy something. “Nah. Me and you, we're gonna turn this town upside down.”

“But – ”

Kane lifted the tranquilizer, aimed at the man's chest, and fired, laughing.

The man gasped.

His hands fluttered to his chest and his eyes stared down at the needle protruding from his dress shirt, crowned by a little rose of spreading blood. He looked back up at Kane.

And started to smile.

Started to laugh.

A laugh that boiled in his throat and erupted from his mouth like steam, crescendoing violently, ripping from his lungs, feeding on his oxygen. Kane laughed along with him. It felt good. It felt good to laugh with someone else. His whole body was twitching now and the faces were slipping into his vision again.

The man dropped to the ground, cackling.

Gotta go, gotta run, gotta scream!

Writhing, his teeth bared, and froth gathering on his lips along with the blood from his tongue trapped between his teeth the man, roared with laughter. Roared with dementia.

Gasping with jubilation.

Another smiling face.

Kane began to run. He ran out of the alleyway in the wake of the hysterical gasps behind him, whooping and skipping onto the strip. Baptized suddenly by glinting advertisements and light that ignited his body into a storm of electrons, Kane dodged cars and pushed past pedestrians. Shoving them to the ground. Euphoric. This was his night.

And what happened in Vegas, stayed in Vegas.

He stopped in front of the Caesar's Palace hotel and screamed, radiating the chaos, purging himself. Sirens in the distance were like dissonant concertos and the lights – the beautiful lights – spider-webbed as tears drew rivers down his face.

Fire.

Paint the town red.

Kane plunged his hand into his pocket a produced a handful of poker chips which he tossed in front of the hotel and into the streets like flower petals, twirling in place and singing. And then he ran. Down the street, climbing over parked cars – feet slipping on windshields – and throwing greetings up at the star corrupted sky.

Hello.

Hello Kane
.

And then behind him, his poker chips exploded with a thousand cataclysmic roars. They flowered into brilliant blossoms of heat and screams and tattered flames. Heavy-handed concussions ripped into Caesar's Palace and down the street lifting people and tossing them aside like rag dolls, putting holes into business fronts, and causing the street to shrug cars from it's ebony shoulders. Kane tripped as the shockwave plowed into his back and fell to the asphalt, the explosion ringing in his ears, laughing. Crying.

He whispered, “Fabulous Las Vegas.”

And crawled to his feet as a halo of smoke hemorrhaged into the sky.

(Mostly based off of the Movie)

Real Name: Peter Parker

Aka: Spider-man

Age: 18

Hero, Villain or Civilian: Hero

Power(s): Peter can cling to most surfaces, has superhuman strength (able to lift 10 tons optimally) and is roughly 15 times more agile than a regular human. The combination of his acrobatic leaps and web-slinging enables him to travel rapidly from place to place. His spider-sense provides an early warning detection system linked with his superhuman kinesthetic, enabling him the ability to evade most any injury, provided he doesn't cognitively override the autonomic reflexes.

Weakness(es): He likes to rush into things without thinking.

Appearance: 5'10", 165 lbs., Eyes Hazel, Hair Brown,

Personality: He's geeky (science wiz), sometimes he's selfish; he has a strong sense of right and wrong.

History: Peter Parker is introduced as an orphaned science whiz kid teenager living with his aunt and uncle in the Forest Hills section of New York City. He is a brilliant student but the subject of mockery by his peers who regard him as a bookworm. One day he gets bitten by a radioactive spider during a science demonstration. He gains spider-like powers such as super-strength and the ability to climb walls.

Other: Not any love interests right now.

P.S. If you can think of anything else PM me your ideas.
Admiration: Our polite recognition of another's resemblance to ourselves.

Real Name: Remy Etienne LeBeau

Aka: Gambit

Age: Unknown (~ early 30s)

Hero, Villain or Civilian: Hero (just about)

Power(s): Gambit has the mutant ability to tap into the potential energy contained within an object and transform it into kinetic energy upon touching it. When Gambit thus charges an object and throws it at a target, the object releases this energy explosively on impact. Gambit is unable to use this power to charge living objects. He also has near-superhuman agility and dexterity, coupled with the talent of blocking telepaths through static interference. He also possesses a hypnotic charm to allow him to exert a subtle influence over other's minds. Trained in many martial arts and has experienced thievery skills.

Weakness(es): Gambit's eyes are light-sensitive, which temporarily impairs his vision when exposed to bright light. He also is distracted by female beauty quite easily.

Appearance: Remy stands at 6'1" and weighs 179lbs. The most obvious deviation in his appearance are his burning red eyes over a black sclera. He has longish brown hair and a stubbly chin. His physique is not muscled but of a slim, athletic quality. He tends to wear a long brown overcoat over light body armour. His weapon of choice is a telescopic bo staff. He is usually carrying a pack of cards on his person as these are his favourite objects to ignite with energy. http://www.gearcritech.com/images/updat ... gambit.jpg

Personality: Remy is a self-described ladies man, a charmer and cracks many jokes. He is fiercely proud of his Louisianan heritage and speaks with a heavy Cajun accent. As a professional thief, his morality is often in question, but when push comes to shove, Remy picks the 'good' option. Though he often masks it, Remy has a more vulnerable side he shows to those close to him. Brought up in a harsh childhood, Remy is naturally untrusting and suspicious. He possesses a sharp mind (although his accent leads many to think him slow) that allows him to analyse situations quickly.

History: Remy LeBeau was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up in a world of thievery and lived as a street thief, until he attempted to pickpocket the patriach of the Thieves Guild and was adopted by Jean-Luc LeBeau. His mutant abilities manifested themselves in his teens. After marrying Bella Donna Boudreaux in an attempt to reconcile the warring factions of the Assassins and Thieves Guilds. However, he was challenged to a duel by her incestuous-minded brother Julien. Gambit killed Julien and was exiled, forcing him to leave. He wandered the world, and has since been mixed in with the bad (Marauders) and the good (X-Men). He continues a tempestuous on-off relationship with his love, Rogue.

Other: Gambit is bilingual in English and French. Away from his mutant abilities, he also has extraordinary martial fighting skills, the ability to throw small objects (cards, knives, etc.) with great accuracy, and is a skilled fencer and duellist, learnt from his days in the Guild.

Gambit, 11.00pm

Once upon a time, Remy believed in heroes.

From the outskirts, the city looked aflame in the blackness of the night. New York had never been his favourite city. It seemed a world away from his home in Louisiana. It was too large, too impersonal, too heterogeneous. A mixing pot of capitalism and decadence, it was far from the homely, unpretentious neighbourhoods where he grew up.

Least there plenty rich and stupid people, Remy considered with a smile.

The experience of the real world had taught him heroes were an ideal, a fantasy, a liberal dream. One person's freedom fighter is another person's terrorist and all that. He was no philosopher, but the black and white dichotomy never made sense -- only the swirling mass of grey. Everyone's the same. C'est la vie.

Tomorrow he would meet people who called themselves heroes.

Once upon a time, Remy had been called a hero. Actually, twice, even thrice upon a time; maybe even he had believed the lie, bought the myth, and worn the uniform. It was the best of lies, heroism, and in his misled youth he had took comfort in it. The days had taught him that everyone has a horrible secret and that heroes are simply the religion and reverie of young boys.

He walked alone on the side of the road, trampling the weeds and the wild grass. A hundred yards ahead of him flashed the signs of a bar. Exhausted and thirsty, his legs obeyed and directed him straight to the door. It was ragged and old, the building decorated with colourful graffiti and the windows scratched and half-broken. Remy grinned. These places were always his favourite haunts.

The door swung open to reveal a near-empty bar. Two men played pool and a few were sitting, chatting, with beers in hand and a plethora of empty bottles on their table. At the bar one man sat talking to the barman. Remy headed straight for a drink, ignoring the usual odd glances at his distinct clothes, and more particularly, his eyes. As he took a seat at the bar, the barman gave him an uneasy glance.

As the barman fetched him a beer, Remy, out of habit, flicked a few cards between his fingers. The other man at the bar stared at him.

"What are you, some kind of magician, with those there cards and some fake-ass eyes?" he said aggressively, sparking a couple of laughs from the rest of the bar. He had drunk a few too many.

Remy ignored him, and paid the barman.

"Hey, freak! Answer my goddamn question." The man got up from his seat and menacingly approached Remy.

Taking a gulp, Remy continued to finger the cards between his fingers. "What d'you call my beautiful eyes 'gen?"

"Oh, please, like you really have red eyes. This isn't Las Vegas, pal," the man said as he slammed his beer down. "Your stupid tricks don't fool me."

"Dere's only one fool ere, homme."

"You better watch your tongue, freakshow, or I'll show you some magic tricks of my own!" He grinned and rolled back the sleeves of his dirtied shirt, showing an impressive set of biceps.

Gambit's left leg flashed out casually, and the man stumbled and fell to the wooden floorboards. "What's dat? You wanna see card trick?"

Remy smiled. The cards in his hand glowed a bright pink.

Once upon a time, Remy believed in heroes.

Power(s): Lex Luthor has no super human powers himself. However, Luthor is a genius and financial wizard. He is one of the most powerful men on the planet and has access to all the technology developed by his company Lex-Corp and the wealth to buy anything he desires. *

Weakness(es): He has no super-human powers, meaning he can't fly, can't run fast, doesn't have superhuman strength, etc. He has a tendency to lose his patience easily and isn't all that accustomed to physical fighting. He's a bit of a coward and prefers to let others do the dirty work.

Appearance: Lex stands 6' 2" and weighs about 210 lbs. He has green eyes, no hair, and normally wears business-like clothes. Pic

Personality: Lex is power-hungry, merciless, and cold. He has a great business mind and a great mind for mechanical sciences. He doesn't care much for anyone else and will hurt just about anyone to get his way. He has a great hatred for the heroes and will stop at nothing to bring them down.

History: One glance at Luthor’s I.Q. test results convinced his parents that their little genius would make them rich. They were determined he should excel but their soul destroying “guidance” bred a sociopath who engineered their deaths to capitalise on their life insurance. A budding astrobiologist, Lex then spent years searching for evidence of extraterrestrial life. His hunt took him to Smallville when he was 18. Lex befriended another seemingly alienated young man, Clark Kent. He turned his back on Smallville when a fire destroyed his lab and his scientific achievements, as well as his foster father. Refusing to take responsibility for the accident, Lex blamed the town for “letting the Luthor’s burn”, and to this day refuses to admit he has ever set foot in Smallville.

Years later, Lex appeared in Metropolis and built his technology company, LexCorp, into a powerhouse. Financial success led to political power, and he was considered the city’s most powerful figure. Then came the day that Superman appeared in the skies above Metropolis and turned Lex’s world upside down. Superman openly accused Luthor of being a criminal mastermind rather than a benefactor of mankind. Unwilling or unable to link this “meddling alien” with the boy he had known a decade earlier, Luthor swore to bring down the last son of Krypton. *
