St. George's Day today!

Happy St. George's Day everyone!

St. George's Day is the national day for England (more or less), so is everyone getting out their fish and chips, red roses, and Morris dancers?

Had any special celebrations? Dressed in red and white at all? Forgot about it completely? Let's hear!

And how can we all forget Shakespeare? He died on St. George's Day - his birthday!

I helped my rainbows group make lots of pretty flags to wave around the streets but other than that, I haven't really celebrated. I really want fish and chips now...

Spent the whole day wishing Happy England Day to everyone. The fact that I live in Wales made the whole process for more interesting

I can imagine that, lol.

Nobody really spoke about it here... So much for English pride, eh?

I forgot to mention that I ended up in the centre of York which, naturally, was filled with people dressed in armour, carrying shield and swords. I was vaguely tempted to take one guys sword as he was holding it out to show someone else as Beth, Tazz and me passed.

Same! It was like 'Oh, it's Saint Georges Day is it? That's nice...'

At work, we had a mufti day.

That's it though, I don't think many people really care, which is a little disappointing. St. Paddy's Day is far more popular.
