New Member & Writer

Hi,

My name is Jadeite, or Jade for short, either is fine. I am a new member here as well as a new writer. I've only begun writing in December of 2007. I got inspired after reading a book by Matthew Stove - Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith(Based on the movie).
The way he described the the story and the characters was beyond any I could ever imagine describing. He was able to make you understand everything about the character. Their feelings, motions, thoughts, actions, oppinons...everything about a person.
After reading this book I began to think about writing myself. I first started with star wars fan fiction since I like them. After that I wrote a few short stories and then I began working on a science fiction, outer space adventure.

I hope that I will learn much and enjoy myself here on this site. I am eager to meet other writers and discuss about different writing styles, ideas, storylines, chaacters...etc...

Welcome to YWS! I really hope you enjoy it here, and you'll definetely be able to talk to many great writers.

A word of advice: Take all the critism and apply it. It really helped my writing when I started doing that.

You might get alot out of reading a few posts by some other YWSers, just to get the feel of everything.

New members are asked to review/critique at least two pieces before they post any of their own works. This keeps it to a healthy ratio of 2:1.

I mostly write science fiction, outer space adventure and some plain fiction. But recently I've been having trouble writing. My writing isn't turning out as I thought it would. But I'm new so I'm sure I'll get around it and get better at it.

I get inspired by listening to music, things I notice in life and from my imagination. I've been told that I have one of the biggest imaginations!
I also am interested in Film Making. I hope to get involved in it someday. I do video editing, computer graphics, work with blue and green screen, writing scrips/screen plays, some art concept designs and sword choreography.

You may want to check out the FAQ's, as they might help answer some of your questions. And also, before you post any of your work, be sure to critique two other pieces. Not only will it help your work get reviews, but it will help others as well.
