Yes... seriously you repeat words let me show: (The parts in bold are the ones you repeat)

The alleys began to clear of its shadows as the sun peaked its way over the distant horizon. I jogged towards my house, nearly ending my early morning run.
As I passed yet another alley something caught my attention. Halting to a stop, I edged closer to see what had caught my attention. A cold breeze blew past me, making my black baggy jogging shorts flutter.

You also tell instead of showing. You start by telling us. Whereas a lot of this could be easily shown. Another thing is you very often use the name of them, a personal pronoun would work fine rather than telling us. This seems highly unrealistic and doesn't hook the readers. You lump all description together stopping and halting flow to tell us how they where you could just trickle it in slowly build a picture. Imagine your painting you don't do it all at once you do it slowly. That's what an author is you paint a picture with words rather than paint.

Overall: This needs a huge overhaul and maybe read the writing tutorial so you can become better. Hope this helps.

Good luck

I'll try to patch this up, but when I wrote this- Chapter 1 was very tough for me.

Please don't get discouraged by this- chapter 2 is alot better. The comments for it have told me so. ^_^

You've probably heard this from others but some of the sentences are confusing. Just thought I'd point it out. But I like the story so far! :D

Why?!*
We've all been broken in some way. It's just how we express it that makes us dffrent form eachother.

sorry, but i havn't read the next chapter, so i'm reviewing quite blindly.

good creepy descriptions of the two tuxedoed dudes. threatening, but their larger size hint to a domination which is good. at first though, i pictured them as a father figure (yeah, stupid, right?) but the way they talk and act just sorta gives off that vibe. and, about the tuxedo thing, i see mormon people riding bikes in suits all the time and that was the first image that popped into my head when you said tuxedo. maybe i'm just being dumb... who knows?

good description of the feeling character got in the beginnig. because it was a foreign, not normal feeling, you could bend it anyway you like it. the smell of blood, though, hinted at a vampire twist, and (since i havn't read more yet) is that what you're going for?

make sure to locate setting. i was good until you said morning jog with an ally nearby... so is she in the city or the country? where is her home?

This is really good. But you need to build up to the part where she is panicking. Also I thought the part near the end was good. Good job. =]

I thought it was really good. There's nothing I can add that someone hasn't already said--I'm a little slow on writing reviews. Anyway, can't wait to read Chapter 2, which I will do in a minute. :)

I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots; Her coat is one of the tabby kind, with tiger stripes and leopard spots.
