I am actually doing something similar myself, writing down my life's story so far. We'd all love to read it and give you some advice and what not.
Don't forget to read the rules before posting any work though, you need to make sure to post 2 reviews for every thing you post. Keeping a 2:1 ratio. That way everyone gets some crits on their work!
Feel free to PM me with any questions!
Best of luck!

Hello Kez and a big welcome to YWS!! *hands out muffins*
If you ever need anything at all then feel free to pm me and I'll be happy to help you out as best as I can. Check out the FAQ's and Guide (as others have said) as they do help.
All the best with your writing and I hope you like it here.
Wow. A life story, huh? Yours must be pretty interesting...*falls asleep at the sheer thought of reading her life story, let alone writing it*. Actually, my new About the Authors thread is like a horribly exaggerated version of my life story.
Anyway, enough about that. You still need a gift. So here you go:

Welcome to the site! I'm sorry, I forgot to bring a gift *blushes*, but I hope you will accept this...
*Critique for the first story you post* (although chances are that will happen anyways =D)
Anways, welcome, welcome, welcome. =D
See you around!

(by the way, PM me for the critique ;P)
But that is not the question. Why we are here, that is the question. And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in this immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Godot to come. -Beckett
Welcome to YWS. I'm Rick. I hope you enjoy the site as much as we all do. After you get 25 reviews, you can access the YWS chatroom and talk about any work you're doing, ask for crits for anything, ask anyone if they have something they want/need critted, and/or just hang out in and talk about your day. Before you post your own work, you need atleast two crits. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions/concerns about anything.

Hey Kez. Welcome to YWS! I'm Maybe, or May for short.
If you have any questions/concerns about the site, or just want a critique, feel free to PM me. I'm always glad to help (though be warned: I do not critique poetry. Sorry!)
You may want to check out the FAQ's, as they might help answer some of your questions. And also, before you post any of your work, be sure to critique two other pieces. Not only will it help your work get reviews, but it will help others as well.
So what genera do you like to read? What bands do you enjoy listening to? Do you like chocolate or vanilla better? Salty or sweet? Land or sea? ^.^
I hope you like it here (I'm sure you will). As Casey already pointed out, YWS is a really cool place, filled with really cool people.
See ya around! Good luck with your story/stories! I can't wait to read some.
