flood, selfish thoughts and wishes,
just a flash of name gives desire.
attach perverted thoughts
for such a small infatuation.
more a daydream wish,
too impossible to pursue.

ah, but just the thought of directed words
somehow connected to the cloud
surrounding mine
brings such delight and flattered blushes.
clinging on to everything possible
of pretty words and compliments,
all to feel that specialness again.

it was a prisoner, for my own amusement.

now, emptiness,
escaped from the wired cell.
set free from iron grip punishment
that was not deserved.

flying away to a better place, i know,
but i still hope in selfish dreams.

nice poem, dowg. The one liner made the poem for me. And the first line was awesum to. Keep on writing in the free world.

I really like this poem, you have a great sense of language and how to make words work well together.

I didn't really understand it which kind of prevented me from enjoying. However, if I did get it I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more. But what's the poem got to do with the title? Nothing? Or am I missing something?

Good, I like it. I thought that the "ah" might be a little out of place, but overall, good concept and very well-written.

I don't know... It was kind of a metaphor. One of those cliche love poems where the bird is the person that didn't love back. And then 'setting the bird free' is letting the person go... something like that. Thanks for all the comments.

One of the things I love about YWS is the quote generator. For example, I'm reading a really serious work, and then I see "Moo. - cow" at the bottom of the page.
