There was once a coven of thirteen witches who each controlled a different power. Originally, they were kind and gentle, using their powers to protect the humans from the evil sprites and vengeful spirits of the world but their help was not always appreciated. The ignorance and violence of the humans, their greed and fear, led some members of the coven to hate them and pushed others towards a selfish, solitary existance.
Thus, the coven was broken. Seven years have passed and all thirteen members of the original coven are still alive, some using their powers for good, some for evil and others hiding themselves from the world. Now the leader of the coven seeks to re-unite the witches so that they may fight a group of evil spirits who threaten to reverse the process of death, to bring themselves back by destroying every living creature on Earth.

This storybook is set in the past. No modern technology, including computers, mobiles, guns etc and no magic or magical beings beyond what I set.
The first twelve to join can create the other twelve members of the coven (my character will be the leader) and every witch has the usual powers of creating love potions and charms and using herbal magic to heal or poison. In addition to that, you each choose to control two elements: fire (this includes the ability to create weapons of fire), air (this includes the abilities to turn invisible and levitate), water (this includes the ability to liquify ones body so that moving through gaps under doors is possible) or earth (this includes the ability to create golemns out of earth or rock and use them to fight foes). I'd prefer it if no more than six people took each power so that we have at least a little variety.
If more than thirteen people wish to join, those joining later can choose to be evil spirits or humans.
The general plot of this storybook will be in my character trying to unite as many of the group as possible against the evil spirits which isn't actually much of a plot so I'll be depending on you to think of ideas as well as adding more of my own as we write. Hopefully we'll develop a stronger plot.

Rules:
1. Don't make your characters too powerful.
2. Take care with your posts. Think of each as a minature story and make sure they're a reasonable length (at least two paragraphs so about ten lines or more) and as grammatically correct as you can manage.
3. Try not to control other people's characters too much or take them out of their personality. If you're not sure how they'll react, rather than getting it wrong and risking upsetting them or writing a very small post that barely moves the plot along, pm them. Or talk to them in the discussion thread I'll create.
4. Try to include other characters in your posts. I understand that your character will probably start alone but once the plot has got moving, involve others and try to interact with a variety of characters so no one feels left out.
5. Don't double post and don't post more than two times each day.

Name= Rydia Palmer.
Age= 29.
Elements= Air and Water.
Appearance= Rydia is tall with a slim, curvy figure and slightly tanned skin. Her eyes are bright forget-me-not blue and her hair is long, black and wavy, usually worn down.
Clothes= Rydia tends to wear blue, cotton dresses embroidered with black outlines of flowers across the shoulders, sleeves and hem.
Weapons= Rydia carries an athame and a bow and arrows. The athame is used solely for rituals while the bow is used to defend herself.
Personality= Rydia remains a kind and gentle protector of the Earth and all its inhabitants. She feels some anger towards the members of the coven who turned against humans but has convinced herself that she must set aside those feelings and strive to reunite everyone. Rydia is a confident young woman and though she sometimes trusts in people too much, she is usually a strong leader.
History= Rydia has spent the last seven years aiding the village she grew up in but she can feel the dark presense of the evil spirits and though she does not yet know their purpose, she knows she will need the power of a full coven to drive them back. As coven leader, Rydia has the ability to locate the other members of the coven using seeking charms and has begun this task.
